Can "Rebound" get better feedback?

I was about to make a thread about how Rebound felt very lackluster for an elite actually. I think as a lot of people in this thread have already stated that while the concept for the skill and what it does is amazing in practice, but quite frankly a 2.1k heal just does not cut it for a zerk class. Maybe if it was like a 4-5k heal, sure I would take Rebound over anything without batting an eye. But as it stands right now I’m just not sure.

What would it take for gw2 to go esports?

GW2 will never be an esport until the balance team wakes the hell up and more resources are devoted specifically to pvp. You can not realistically expect a healthy pvp meta/scene to magically appear when we get balance changes maybe twice a year. It’s ludicrous. Conquest, ok good game mode it has potential, but it is not entertaining for people to watch. CTF, Deathmatch all these other potential game modes have been thrown around and so far nothing has come to fruition. Stronghold? Give me a break, you are trying to put a terrible miniature moba inside of an MMO. One Anet finally wakes and smells the coffee and actually implements a system like HA or GvG that GW1 had, then we can talk about esports. Until then, it’s a joke.

While shoutbow cannot get out of it, ele is a bit more vulnerable to burst than shoutbow due to low base hp poor and armour. You can get spiked up easily. However, if such team decides to focus you, there is a high chance you will be dying no matter what you play.

The thing is ele is losing its support and answer me this: Why would you take a support spec on your team, when it lacks…you know, support?

D/D ele is far from being a support spec my friend. What a D/D ele is designed to do is be able to brawl in teamfights and take a beating and not die instantly. It does that job insanely well. You can also use a D/D ele to go far or bunker home so that you can +1 them if they need help. If you want a support build for ele in pvp then play celestial staff, sure your damage will suck, but in teamfights you can throw around all the support you want with water fields, statics, immobs, etc.

I played GW1 GvG competitively for a very long time. In a game called GUILD Wars 2, I have no earthly idea why there is no gvg. Anet really, you are missing out on such a big market and alienating an entire group of players. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Adopt-a-Dev for the WvW Fall Tournament

in WvW

Hello!

The adopted devs got together again earlier this week for a lunch meeting to bring feedback from their guilds and discuss their observations. The team has already begun addressing some of the feedback the devs brought back as well as some of the issues that you have brought up on our forums.

Coming with the build next week, build sites for rams will be trimmed down in size. This is to reduce the visual clutter with build sites, since rams are often built very close to each other, and make it easier to tell a ram apart from other siege when you are building it. There are also changes coming later to label the build interacts with what you are building. So you should see “Build Ram”, “Build Catapult” etc. instead of just “Build”. These were suggestions taken from the discussion on siege trolls.

We are going to make a balance pass on Siege Disablers. This was one of the most common pieces of feedback both from our adopted devs and from the forums. We really believe that Siege Disablers were a great addition to the game. They gave defenders a better chance of holding off attackers, they created new strategies and they created some fun fights outside of objectives by buying some time. But we agree that they need to be adjusted. We will be looking at things like radius, cooldowns and duration of the effect.

There were a handful of other tweaks brought up in our discussions that we are planning. These include reducing the number of people who can rally off of a kill. Removing white swords from objectives to give defenders a stronger role in alerting their team as well as giving attackers more of a chance to get through having their siege disabled. We are also going to test out awarding points per kill. PPK was part of the scoring discussion and something we wanted to try. We will be looking for your feedback on that change after it goes live.

Some bigger issues are factoring into longer term work. For example, we have been discussing what we have learned from our conversations on the forums as well as the feedback our adopted devs brought back from their guilds on the topics of population imbalance and scoring. These are bigger changes and are factoring into longer term solutions that the team is working on.

The team has a lot to chew on but some areas that I’d like to discuss more with the community in the near future are rewards and supporting some vital roles like scouting and defending. I’ll kick off some discussions on these areas in the next couple of weeks.

I was happy to hear from the devs that they would all love to do this again and felt it was a very fun and valuable way to spend their free time. Many of them have made some great new friends and they all felt like this was a great way to really connect with the community by playing side by side with new faces and getting new perspectives on Guild Wars 2.

Thanks again to everyone who signed up for or hosted a dev! We had a great time!

John

Removing white swords would be a terrible idea, especially for lower tiers who already have it bad enough, you put your devs in blob servers, which aren’t the problem. GG anet.

upgrading my PC

I do have some leway within my budget, I can go up to about 1500$ range but don’t really want to go that high. Also I guess the reason I’m so hesitant about intel cpu’s is because my past two laptops have been i5’s and they both died after about a year. So I guess I’m just naturally hesitant about intel stuff now(probably a very stupid reason).
Note: This is my very first build
EDIT: I don’t know if this makes a difference but I plan to be running dual monitors as well

if I got an aftermarket cooler and paired it with the r9 290 do you think it would be ok? As for the processor, I think the 8350 should be fine as I don’t only play GW2 and I may start doing some videos which I hear the 8350 is really good for. As a side note, for anyone who owns the 8350 some FPS numbers would be great

Does anyone know of any good S/F ele builds? I see massive potential in the focus offhand but just can’t seem to make it work. Suggestions?

Building a new PC opinions?

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: KaiDarius.8723

KaiDarius.8723

So as the title says I am looking to build a new PC, and it will mostly be playing GW2. I may be doing some streaming/youtubing or stuff like that but not entirely sure. The specs I want would ideally be:
i7 3770+gtx770+8gb of RAM

but I’m not sold on Intel I really like the AMD FX Vishera 8350.

So which should I go with?
Note: my graphics card and RAM will stay the same, just the processor and the motherboard as well ofc.

previewing more than one weapon

in Suggestions

KaiDarius.8723

As the title says I would like to be able to preview more than one weapon at a time for the purpose of dual wielding classes and I want my weapons to match. I’m fairly sure that a lot of people feel the same way. This would be so useful for my warrior when I’m trying to decide which sword/shield or axe/shield combo would look the best. Same for Sword/Dagger or Sword/Axe on my ranger. I just think this would be a very nice addition. Opinions?

Not sure about program

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: KaiDarius.8723

KaiDarius.8723

So I know that Guild Wars 2 has a pretty strict thing about third party programs, and wanted to ask about the one I was going to use before I actually do so that I don’t get wrongly banned. The program I was going to use is called Shiftwindow. It essentially allows me to have a game in windowed mode be run like it is in fullscreen, it does not affect my game play at all. It just makes it easier for me to tab in and out of the game without having to run it in windowed mode at half the FPS.

If someone could please give me a response as to whether or not this program is allowed to be used that would be awesome. Also if this has been posted in the wrong forum I am sorry for my error.

I'm a little confused

So I’m a level 11 elementalist and so far am loving the class. I just have a few questions about traits because I am totally unsure of what to go for. I like staff ele and love D/D ele. Could anyone give me advice on a trait build? I like going air mostly for D/D and fire for staff. I don’t know if this is good. Any opinions are welcome
