Hello,

I’m downloading the game currently and while I’m doing that I thought I would ask about the games health. How’s it holding up after all this time?

I figured I would make my return. With my new PC I can actually handle the PVP!

I’ve just hit level 40 and I have become a little lost. The Master book reset my trait points and I have a little more freedom than before. I could use some advice on some trait routes.

To narrow it down a little I’ve been mostly using Sword/Pistol and would like to see some builds for that but I’ve also been considering DD. Is DD viable?

I will be mostly running open world PVE to level up but I occasionally do the odd Dungeon as I go.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve been away from the game for a few months and I hear that there have been a lot of changes to the classes. I had a hard time choosing before and with the changes it’s a bit of a nightmare so I require some assistance.

If it helps I would like my first character to be Asura.

I’ve tried both the Warrior and Guardian, sadly I found them to be a little dull. I’m after a class that’s fresh, fun and above all else can be found to be useful in a Dungeon. The Thief looks interesting and so does the Mesmer.

I will consider anything. What would you recommend?

I’ve been away from the game for quite a few months now. I’m curious about the current state of the class in PVE.

How far has the Necromancer has come?

I keep hearing that once you’ve “mastered” the class it can out perform all others. Is that true?

This post is purely for PVE.

I have been playing since pre-release and in that time I have played every class up to a certain point (71 being the furthest I ever got) except for this one. I cannot for the life of me find a class I completely enjoy.

I’ve decided that I’m happiest as a caster type but the lure of being able to do everything much more efficiently as a Warrior or Guardian is quite strong. I understand that this class has a learning curve and that appeals to me but, once I’ve mastered it will I be able to perform as well as a Warrior or Guardian?

How does the Elementalist perform in Dungeons? Are they a highly sought after class? or are they the unwanted guest of a group?

I’m trying to get a basic feel of it all. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. I would like to actually be able to enjoy the end game content.

In a few days I’ll be level 80 (For the first time) and I want to start my preperation. I’ve been running CM for the tokens as the exotic gear gives C/P/T gear but, I’m wondering where else I can go looking for some decent sets.

What would you recommend I aim for?

I’m a PVE player, I don’t play for PVP at all. It’s not the strongest class by any means but that doesn’t mean it’s not enjoyable. I’ve played the so called gods of the game (Guardian, Warrior etc…) and i found there gameplay quite dull.

I’m currently leveling my Necromancer at the moment and I’m having a lot of fun with it. I’m Condition specced and I would advise you to go the same way, due to the fact that the minions need a lot of work. That isn’t a bad thing though as Condition speccs are very strong I feel. I have no problems at all getting through the game and to be honest I find it very easy. I’m able to pull packs of mobs and kill them off with ease.

There will be many people saying how bad they are etc but try not to listen to them. If you enjoy the class, play it. Find out for yourself, don’t go solely on the opinion of someone who hasn’t played anything but a Guardian, there will be many of them.

Necro is great in my opinion.

I’m currently level 44 with my Guardian and so far it’s all gone very well, leveling has been a breeze. As I progress though and as I start doing the Dungeons I get the feeling that my attributes need some work, only I’m not sure where to go with them. My gear is made up of both Power and Precision which has served me well while leveling but, when it comes to Dungeons I think a change may be needed, especially as I level higher.

I’m using a Hammer as my main weapon with no offset yet (I wasn’t sure which to go for) which I’m told is very strong. What would you recommend as the offset and what stats should I be concentrating on? As a role I’m after more of a front line support that’s capable of heavy DPS. I’ll be going for AH too.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I’m currently leveling my Mesmer and I’m not yet at the required level to run my first instance. Leveling the Mesmer is no easy task and it leads me to wonder how we end up.

Are Mesmers sought-after in Dungeons?
How are we at 80? in comparison to other classes in Dungeons.

I’ve not done much crafting and I’ve been considering giving cooking a try. What are your opinions on it? Is it worth trying? How does it perform at 80?

For those who care. What kind of character background did you choose for your Thief and why?

I have just hit level 20 myself. Instead of stacking condition I went and stacked power. The Staff can use both as you’ll notice from might that the staff buff itself adds power and condition both. As I level and as I gain access to it I’ll include condition in my gear.

I found the power also helps with the Sword+Focus weapon set too. Give it a try.

I bought this game at release and since then I’ve not been able to level a character above 30, I’ve currently deleted them all. I can’t stick to a class choice. I very much like the game and I see all of these players in amazing looking armor but, I just can’t stick with a class long enough to progress anywhere. It’s a real problem.

I’m asking for your help. I need some inspiration and some reasons behind your class choices and how you enjoy them. I don’t give a kitten about what’s currently the strongest, I just want your opinions about the class you play. I hoping this will drive me to making a choice and sticking with it.

So… I’ve been playing some other classes. I’ve tried a Guardian, Warrior and a Mesmer. Sadly with both the Guardian and Warrior I found it all a little too simplistic and the Mesmer just isn’t for me. With some basic knowledge of how the game plays and with understanding how important dodging is I’m wanting to give the Thief a real go.

Do you have any advice for me?

I’ve been pondering on a background that would fit best. I was thinking Subterfuge / Dignity / Commoner / Unknown Parents.

What did you go for?

I was thinking for RP but I’m open to all.

Which do you think fits the Guardian best?

Any ideas? This is most frustrating.

Every time I create a character, type it’s name and hit next to create it, the game takes me to the selection screen and the character i created is gone. I have tried multiple times now and I keep getting the same problem.

Any ideas?

I have been trying to find a class that i can connect with. At first (after reading the forums) I thought it might be a Guardian or even a Warrior but melee standard attacks were just not my style. So Here I am.

After watching the class videos the Mesmer looks very interesting and unique. I’m not afraid to die, I’m not easily frustrated and I’m willing to learn. So if there is any wisdom that people could part with it would be greatly appreciated.

How does the Mesmer perform in Dungeons?
What are your opinions on the class?

I’ve been watching the class videos and I’ve been trying to decide on what I’d like to play the most and the Thief looks the most interesting. I’m looking for a melee class to use in PVE with high utility and considered an asset in a group if played correctly. Is this that class?
