Whaaa?? so you think that my ideas are impossible, but you easily claim that your idea of “a trait that made all the pet traits apply to the ranger as well” is good? I… what the hell do you even mean? pet traits? since when do pets have traits? you mean beastmastery traits? for example, “Mighty swap: You and your pet gain 3 stacks of might when they are activated”. With your trait, this effect would also trigger when the pet changes owners! Yes, that seems like a good idea for a trait.

I’ll try to keep it short. These are my suggestions for upcoming Traits, like the ones that came out on the big update last month.

– Marksmanship:
Perfect Shot:
Shooting three consecutive “Long Range Shots” (longbow skill 1) without moving causes the third shot to deal 50% additional damage and apply cripple(1.5s).

The whole trait line is mainly focused on longbow sniping. This would typically be used in PvE, for Rangers that like dealing damage from a safe distance, but could also be used in PvP because of the cripple effect, if the player can rely on another player to tank for him.

– Nature Magic:
Hunting Pack:
Using a Healing skill also grants stealth(4s) to you and nearby allies.

This could be very useful for players that want to make a support build that focuses more on utility, and less on spirits. It could also synergize with the Marksmanship grandmaster trait “Remorseless”, since it gives an Opening strike every time you stealth, for players that want a more balanced build.

– Beastmastery
Eternal Companions:
When swapping pets, the current pet remains for 6 seconds after the other pet is summoned. (Combat Only)

Most rangers keep a primary pet that they always have activated, and only swap when the main pet dies. This would improve the benefits of constantly swapping beewteen pets. It could also be used to syngergize one pet’s skills with the other.
It would also fufill every Beastmaster Ranger’s dream of having two pets in-game, even if its just for a limited time.

This is a bad idea.
Players that like having followers already have that possibility. almost every proffesion has the ability to have a follower already.
Ranger – pets
Necromancer – minions
Elementalists – elementals (although these do need rework)
Mesmers – clones
Engineer – turrets
Thief – the thiefs
Guardian – spirit weapons
Warrior – ???? (something could be added here.)
Except for the warriors, every class already has followers. This system would be too hard to balance, which would force players to either have an annoying AI follower bumming them 24/7 or prohibit players that would want an AI follower from having it, in order to fall in strength

How can you change races like that with a personal story system in place?
