I was super excited to see the Guild Halls be announced for HoT at least until I saw the footnotes. I’m going to quote from a post having to do with the Guild Arena wait time:
The base arena building will be available within about two weeks of time after launch (based on aetherium and favor requirements) as long as the guild gets enough gold/materials/etc. acquired from game-play in that two week time to build the building.[TLDR; the fastest any guild could build the building will be about two weeks]
Now, as far as I’ve seen, there’s been no mention of the specific requirements in terms of aetherium, favor, gold, materials, etc. for the Arena or for the rest of the Guild Hall and I’ve not seen any specific information on what it takes to clear out a Guild Hall either. If these have been officially confirmed somewhere, please link them to me. Until then I’m going off the assumption they are staggered similarly to current guild upgrades in terms of time and effort.
This seems like the small guilds are getting the short end of the stick, or rather, no stick at all. And when I say small guilds, I refer to guilds with a regular playerbase of no more than 30. Will they be able to access and use the same Guild Hall features as bigger guilds without it taking substantially longer? Because it sure doesn’t look like it and that is very frustrating to see.
It would be very nice to see a system in place that scales based on guild members to determine appropriate challenge levels for the Guild Hall content, though I recognize how this would no doubt be abused by some (ie. leaving a guild to make the process easier and then rejoining). Still I believe there should be something to make things more possible for smaller guilds to achieve fleshed out Guild Halls and enjoy that feature of the expansion pack just like anyone else that paid for it.
I know there will be people that will disagree with me and say smaller guilds will just have to work extra hard to experience the content or that they should just forget about their own guilds and join bigger ones. I’d find it really disconcerting if the developers felt the same way on the matter as those individuals.
I would hope there’s something to accommodate for the smaller guilds that are at a disadvantage due to fewer members when it comes to the guild-specific content. My guild hasn’t been able to experience Guild Missions since their launch because we just don’t have the members to build enough Influence to unlock them. I see this as a huge oversight as there are certainly many other players missing out on content because they’re a part of a smaller guild. I really hope that such a huge portion of the expansion pack isn’t something my guild, and all other smaller guilds will miss out on just because we are small.
Have us work to build it up. Give us tasks to perform. But please don’t expect a group of 30 players to take on an objective built for 300. It would be like expecting 1 person to take on a raid all alone.
Thanks and have a good one whoever took the time to read this.
It seems like the most common top builds utilize the Sword and Pistol in some way but after trying those builds I’ve got to say that I’m not a fan of using it and having to deal with enemies that are constantly shifting around. Is there a good, or at least, functional build that utilizes the ranged attacks of a Mesmer? One that would also function at average level in dungeon runs or fractals.
Bottom line: Are there any builds that, while not the top setup for a Mesmer, are still reasonably viable and utilize the GS as a primary weapon of choice. And if you could direct me to those builds it’d be much appreciated.
I have slightly over 2000 as an acheivement score. I signed in after being absent for at least a month and found 2 achievment chests in my mail. I later found out that I was apparently supposed to get more of these chests given my score. I haven’t. My mail was full when I logged back in. Before I went on hiatus I was managing a guild and people had been sending me mail, and there had also been game messages in my mail. I didn’t recieve them upon clearing my mailbox so does that mean I can never get them? =/ If so, that’s pretty disappointing. That’d be a fair amount of gold and weapon skins that now I can never get, all because I took a break from the game.
