How exactly do you play a theif in PVE?

I just can’t do it, I’m pretty sure I’m just playing the class wrong, and I’m bad at it. But from what I’ve learned going melee as a theif is asking to die, everything just one-shots me. It feels like going ranged is master race. Utility skills I just find no reason besides all signets, occasionally I do take out the 25% MS signet for the shadowstep but thats about it. I go 6/6/0/2/0, I recently made a warrior and its a breeze playing on it for PVE content. Theif it always seems like I just die immediately and its frustrating seeing the one class I like be destroyed over and over. Help a fellow theif out and help me love this class again.

What Healing Skills do you use?

For some reason I can’t decide what healing skill to use for PVE. First off Shelk Venom feels almost useless to me since the CD is so long and I have to attack 4 times to get the full effect of it. Signet of Malice, the passive just doesn’t heal that well, only way for it to be usefull is to have dagger storm and hope theres enough things around you to heal to full health.

The Two options I’m lookg at but cant choose from, are Withdraw and Hide in Shadows.
Now Hide in Shadows removes conditions that I’ll be hit with and actually damage me. Withdraw heals conditions that affect my mobility but is on a 15 second cooldown. So by the time hide in shadows comes up, I’ll have used withdraw twice. Meaning Withdraw heals more just doesn’t heal the conditions I desperately need it to remove.

Well anyways thats my thoughts, I’m sticking with withdraw for now but I feel really iffy about our healing skills. What does everyone else use and what reason?

Ranger! They’re great for pve since you get a pet that acts like your meatshield while you snipe away with your long bow. And if you liked warrior you could even go close with a greatsword and go all melee. Only thing that made me not want to play was the fact that I cant get rid of the pet, if that bothers you I wouldn’t go for it.
