But the only way you could achieve results with such a playstyle is if you were playing against other bad players playing badly. I don’t think it is wise to balance PvP around low level play, which is what this would be doing.
What would this accomplish? Spamming these moves isn’t a particularly effective method of fighting (and will in fact get you killed more often than not). Really, what is the point of nerfing bad play?
I run a build following a similar theme, but I use Sword/Dagger rather than a backstab build. I tried a backstab build when I first came up with the build, but I found it to be really lacking in…something. I couldn’t quite place it. What I did figure out is that Sword/Dagger works very well. The sword adds the (sometimes buggy) Flanking Strike, which is nice on command boon removal and evasion. It also adds the free shadowstep in and back out which is an amazing ability. To bring this together, it has consistent sustained damage.
Here’s the build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/en/?fYAQNAsYVlUmaPHdy5E95EyOjKUn4ekUIVT1fArA;TgAg0CnoqxUjoGbNuak1A
I really enjoy it. It is great for roaming around and back-capping points. Thanks to the constant stealthing and blinding, I can sacrifice vitality for damage, as most of my damage mitigation is handled by my trait mechanics.
Bugged for me as well. I got all the way to the southern exit and only Trahearne will follow me. The rest are stuck at the second survivors camp.
I play and love Sword/Dagger. I like to run a build that rewards being in stealth and blinds enemies when entering stealth, since the weaponset has such an easy time re-entering stealth every 3 seconds while whittling away at the opponent’s health.
I’ve noticed no one has mentioned that Flanking Strike removes boons from your opponent. This is a key ability in my experience, since (as long as you make sure you’re facing the right way to not mess up the Strike) you can use Flanking Strike 2 or 3 times and remove a wealth of boons, neutralizing your opponent and evading whatever they’re trying to throw at you at the same time.
