Isn’t this implemented already? I ran CoE path 2 and my pet did not take damage from Alpha’s AoE when I dodge. Pets remained alive the entire fight.
Is there no official word on this? I’m hesitating putting in my fine infusion. Last I checked, I still could not put my ascended amulet in the mystic forge.
It only works for me when I am downed on a flat surface, even the slightest hint of a hill or even a small hump the pet will just stare at you and mock you for being downed.
I just hope my dogs will knock them back and pop zephyr when they do and hope it’s enough to kill them otherwise they just cloak, heal and kill you.
I can’t count the number of times my pet dragged along a couple of enemies inside dungeon boss rooms, attract mobs that wipe the entire team as well as mobs that hit my pet that automatically puts me in attack mode reducing my movement speed. It’s just really annoying, there are certainly times where I do not need the pet and I should be given the option not to.

If only that thief would follow me underwater then I might have a chance!
I hope we will be seeing spirit builds in WvW.. maybe rangers could then be a decent support for zergs
Nerfing crossfire did not stop rangers from spamming 1. Even nerfed, it is still the Rangers best source of damage. Anet put us on a place where we are forced to deal with this huge power loss, even when skills 2-5 are reworked, the dps will still be coming from the 1.. but don’t worry.. they fixed that animation problem.. the one person who saw it must be really happy now!
