Apparently there is an interview from 2010 that mentions there might be “other agents” involved in the drying up of the Maguuma. I’m trying to download it now to get some exact wording.
Minor correction: the druids didn’t disappear, they simply became spirits/treants to become closer with nature. Also, the elevated portions of the Maguuma remained arid even in the presence of magic. It was the lower elevations with high concentrations of water that had so much vegetation. I think there has to be something more at work here.
One final thing: In my original post, I didn’t mean to make it sound like an ED was consuming the jungle, but rather that it was consuming the water for its magical properties which would lead to the death of plant life. I (perhaps wrongly) assumed that consumption would take precedence over corruption.
I never did much research into this, but I always found the drying up of the jungle really interesting. I assumed that Mordremoth was somewhere in the region, consuming nature, which was where all the magic was stored.
Hey guys! I’ve recently started playing GW2 again and have decided that it’s time to upgrade my ranger’s build. Using traps has been my favorite build for a long time and I’ve always had the same carrion armor.
I enjoy solo roaming in WvW, and after a few bad encounters I decided I wanted to try out “Dire” armor. Is this a good/better choice than carrion?
Also, until a few days ago I had always used a shortbow/sword-torch. I’ve switched to mainhand axe, but I’m not sure how much I like it. In your opinion, which is best?
Hey Ranger community, I was just looking for some opinions on my elite skill for the trap build I’ve been running recently. I’ve always used entangle, but I was just wondering if there was a viable alternative. Entangle just seems a little too ineffective, many times only trapping the enemy for 1-3 seconds. I also have the sylvari racial elites to choose from. Thanks!
@Neeho Where did I complain about being killed? I’m just disappointed that a guild didn’t care that we were dueling.
Just wanted to give my respect to the DH Asuran Guardian who I fought with for about 20 minutes just now (I was the IoJ Sylvari Ranger).
Btw, DR’s [DDLG] decided to interrupt a really obvious duel. Very classy.
I was really looking forward to doing WvW in GW2 when it first came out, but whenever I tried, there were a couple problems. I simply shrugged these off as features that would need to be tweaked. Yet after playing it earlier today, once again I could not see the people that were killing me until I had about 1000 health left. For some reason, the game doesn’t put emphasis on generating the enemy players until they start attacking me. Also, as soon as any medium-sized or larger fight starts, everything just begins to lag horribly. I understand that there a lot of animations happening, but couldn’t there be some way that the game could compensate for it? I just don’t want to buy a supercomputer to participate in a fight involving more than a few people.
