Yes, the speed remains the same when playing Guild Wars 2. I don’t know the motherboard, but the CPU is Intel® Core™ i7 4710HQ, 2.5 / 3.5 Turbo GHz. My laptop model is ASUS X550JK-XO045D.
CPU-Z shows ~798MHz, I suppose Argus Monitor was rounding up. The task manager on the other hand shows 750MHz. Either way it’s nowhere near the maximum speed.
Hi, today after a few days of not playing I noticed that gw2 is running at 30fps at most, while it used to go over 120fps if I removed the 60fps limit. If I set the video settings to maximum performance the framerate increases to 40fps, but it still decreases when I turn the camera around. There was no difference after I followed the instructions from the “[PC] FPS and Performance based issues” thread. I am also sure I am using the dedicated video card.
I have installed Argus Monitor and it shows all 4 cores of the CPU remain at 800MHz, even though they can go up to 3.5GHz. Could that be the reason? I have another game that runs at about 40fps in average before and after the framrate change in GW2 and the core speed while playing it is also 800MHz. A third game I have however, that is new, is causing it to run at full capacity.
