A lot of time has passed on this game, and I hope a lot of the newer players read this carefully before jumping to conclusions. It is sad when the veteran players often forget what the team has been through and the past comps we use to run but hopefully this clears up stuff.
Sadly its really amusing how just a few tournaments ago Staff ele was looked down on and with the new patch, Eles support gained a 10% buff to heals, and “now its over powered” because of the Monk runes. But some really don’t understand that the monk runes are actually worse in terms of survival since Dwyana is better. A Staff ele is not a tank build with 1,659 toughness and 13,805 HP.
If you are going to sit there and talk about my staff ele build, Get it straight first. The build is SUSTAIN, not tank. As for the people who don’t agree get a team together, run the same comp as APeX, We’ll see you in team queue to show that it isn’t the comp that makes the player, its’ the skills of them.

The thing with staff ele is that it ll never be an amazing bunker.
Thats s/d ele and it was really ridiculous back then. But staff..it cant 1vs1 effectively cause its slow and unreliable and has weaker defense mechanism that other sets.
If you see the staff ele from apex team playing you can see how hard its to even fight for him solo a hambow warrior without losing the node to the point of thinking why playing this build..And a moments later you see him ressing a guy to full with the glyphs water effect and then coordinating with his team the blasts on his water fields, his might stacking and his cc,sharing prot etc.Thats amazing gameplay to me.
Support in gw2 is non existant and more healing without increasing the users self sustain is exactly what the game needs.
The game needs a build that is weaker than every other bunker to take down but at the same time has bigger inpact than all of them. I dont know if this will be achieved or another monstrosity of endless self sustain and condi clear will be added to all the pre existing kitten.. but its worth the try.Staff in general is the hardest weaponset to achieve skill cap imo for the ele. After spending countless hours playing s/f fresh air (which is for some reason considered one of the hardest specs) i found extremely more difficult to effectively direct my damage and cc with staff to a target. But thats me ..other people see it as spamming more aoes :/
I am glad some people can see the fact that a Staff elementlist doesn’t need to wait until the 15th to be considered “OP” The team members of Apex and I have helped shape the way some PvPers view a staff ele. I have had multiple people claim I am a bunker which is absurd seeing as I have barley and toughness and vitality but regardless some mind sets cannot be changed. I run a support Elementalist and I have been playing ele since this game has been in beta I have watched this class prosper and now that it is down in the dirt the PvP team of Apex and I have proven many times in skrims Vs. some of the top teams in NA such as GF and vVv who have some great/respected PvPers in North America that an elementalist without the April 15th patch Staff ele still holds a spot at the top. But with the future patches to come Elementalist will be more available and is going to be seen on many teams due to its changes.
With this all being said I want all gw2 players to know staff elementalist is possible to play in a high caliber with or without the changes to come, it all takes practice. I have some VoD’s of the staff ele game play on my twitch channel for those who are interested, Twitch.tv/Chubbsz.

“As to why I mentioned Chubbsz and Vain as the ones carrying their respective teams? Because they’re the ones baiting out stun breaks and cleansing conditions for the team.”
I would not say that Vain or I carry any team, this is Chubbs Z. Vain and I are both great at what we do. But the one to be carrying Synergy but we call our selves VexX gaming now as our recent join to the guild is Nnight the warrior. He is by far the best warrior in my opinion has never lost to another warrior. But the both only competitive playing warriors use Axe/Shield + GS. Hman and Nnight are both key players in the team along with Khalifa Dom Xee Ect, as well as Yezhik Morf and Remko. Great sword + Long bow could be viable but is not being played at the moment. Our team went against a warrior like that but the only DMG i withstood was from the Great sword I felt 0 pressure when he switched to the bow. And for what Remko said about when you having to use a immo on a target then bull charge is a big waste of cool downs. I have 10 games played on a warrior but I understand the game enough to understand that. It’s not a solo game in which a warrior has to self sustain him self, and as i quote from a GW2 December 14 patch notes “They may have a hard time with enemy conditions, and may need to ask for ally help in order to keep themselves free of hampering conditions.” Guild wars 2 wants warriors to be a big part of a team, as why I as a elementalist have to help Nnight during a team fight with focusing but most importantly peeling healing him while giving his warrior the extra dmg needed to take out a foe. Nnight does not have a problem taking out any class 1v1 as a Axe/Shield + GS he has became a well known warrior among the respectable PvPers in GW2. So before changing a spec and saying it is weaker then another try to test it out with a team instead of 1v1ing everything, Because after all Guild wars 2 Paid tournaments are about Synergy and team work. And I apologize for miss spelled words or bad grammar.

A quote from the patch notes of Dec 14.
“The Ele boasts some of the best team support and control abilities in the game, as well as some great area of effect damage.”
Elementalists are a good class and can 1v1 a wide range of other classes but our main job in a team is to support the other classes. Which when you say we “carry” I believe every role on a team has a GREAT impact. But as for Nnight he is a great player and prestigious leader for our team as we all listen to his calls but have our own say in the matter.
