I’m struggling to see where Firebrand improves burnguard over a standard Zeal/Radiance/Virtues setup. Most of the traits are quickness based, which you can already get from other sources in raids. I guess axe is our only direct condi applying AA(with really short durations) and the f1 tome can be spammed for burning but there is very little direct condi damage multipliers here.

Firebrand just gives more short duration burn stacks and a tiny bit of bleed, at the cost of your weapon skills everytime you go into tome. There is no +condi dmg traits and no +condi duration traits either. On paper it just looks really bursty but doesn’t seem to support a sustained burnguard playstyle better than core burnguard does.

So I saw this trait synergy posted on reddit recently(can’t find it again to give credit sorry!)

Corruption line:
Demonic Defiance – Using a demon skill gives you resistance
Abyssal Chill – when you apply chill you apply torment
Maniacal persistance – apply torment to yourself and others when you gain resistance.

So while in Mallyx, you use Unyielding Anguish utility(the leap) which firstly gives you resistance(from demonic defiance) and thus procs torment around you(from maniacal persistance) and on you(same trait, but negated by the resistance you got) then the field created from the leap pulses chill + torment 4 times which means you proc abyssal chill’s torment 4 times.

While all of the above is going on, if using mace/axe you will be using AA for more torment and mace 2 into 3 for the additional fire, torment and might blasts.

What this results in is basically permanent 25+ torment just from leaping into a mob from UA alone, then using AA and weapon skills on top adds even more. I’ve only been using this in open world but it absolutely deletes anything because of the huge burst torment stacks and with no CD on UA you can just keep applying the leap every few secs even while using Mace 3/Axe 5 on cooldown (you don’t use the upkeep in demon obviously).

Is this just completely broken and OP? I see that Qt don’t use this in their PvE build so I guess its not optimal or perhaps it was overlooked? I mean 25+ torment from a single button press seems nuts when you can maintain it from literally press 1 skill and AA’ing….

Necro 1v1 Video

All the jelly garbage in this thread, anyone playing a Necro will appreciate a unique build trying something most would claim the necro fails at(1v1).

Sure you could do this much easier on an ele or mesmer, but this is the Necro forum where people come to read and see Necro things and for that purpose this video delivered.

I’m actually on my Necro right now messing about with traits and gear to try this out. The Mesmer was getting pretty boring at this stage anyway.

If you intend to make more videos, just do one unbuffed. A difference of 250 power from sigils and the minor boost from oils won’t break you when your outplaying the opponents.

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been asked/answered before, but did anyone else notice that when looking through the story tab on your hero panel(3rd tab down) some of the steps have an items(mostly trophies) but some actual items like a rare Male pirate boots from one step for example.

What is the deal with these, just flavour items/future planned feature/missed opportunity?

Axe: what is it's use?

I really hope they buff axe to give us a single target direct damage build. The axe is underperforming in everything you could try to use it for. Such a shame.

The 2 skill should do the kind of damage pistolwhip/illusionary flurry do when specced like a glass cannon.

Base damage is too low.
Power scaling is too low.
2 skill’s channel is too long.

I’d even accept the 2 skill to require standing still if it means we get a damage and channel time boost to it.
