Loved the video and only disagree with the order of the problems (Dungeons are no.2 for me).

Will ANet ever fix the dungeons?

Basically as the title says. I love Gw2, IMO 95% of the games systems are virtually perfect…. except the dungeons. Firstly I love that there is no trinity, so it has nothing to do with that, but everything else is terrible!

The game relies on a basic 3rd party website for finding groups and it works alright but why isn’t there a proper system for finding a group! Don’t give me this “I don’t want to teleport to dungeon with group” BS, the whole game uses teleporting… BTW you can basically forget trying to find a group for story mode, no one does them and why should they? There is no rewards for them, even though some are harder than the explorable modes :S Anyway, when you finally get into a dungeon they vary wildly in difficulty often within the same dungeon or paths of dungeon, which of course leads to people only speed running the easiest dungeons cough CoF1 cough I’m all for difficult content, but when trash mobs 1 shot you and the boss is simply a 10min punching bag its ridiculous… Then all people ever want to do is skip everything including bosses by either exploiting the buggy terrain or simply running past it…

I understand some of these negative points are driven by the “community” but if ANet fixed the dungeons so the terrain wasn’t a mess, you couldn’t skip everything, you were rewarded for your time and the difficulty made sense and was balanced I’m sure most people would play accordingly. Or maybe it’s just me… But for a game that nails virtually everything else, but fundamentally ruins one of the oldest, most established and easily replicated aspects of MMO’s it doesn’t give me much hope for the game

P.S I love the new instance… but of course they are removing it soon…

Tl:dr – I love 95% of the game, but IMO dungeons are a mess. Do you think ANet agree’s or is it suppose to be like this?

This is one of the features I hated in World of warcraft, back in the older expansions we had to find the group, find the dungeon and work as a team to complete it.

The Looking For Group system was created and everything changed.

I found it made everyone lazy due to instantly teleporting everyone to the dungeon, players became increasingly rude due to the minimal effort required for forming a group or gaining entry to the dungeon (Running there).

The worst part was the cross server dungeon finder, these people you would probably never see again and because of this, no one cared what they said to each other and so there was rage, blame, loot ninjas everywhere.

If its just the server side group finder, I’m sorta fine with this because the player is on the server. People behave differently if they need to interact often with others. (Same people)

I understand some people feel like this, but this really is a case of if you don’t like it then don’t use it. I would be confident to say that the majority of people do not enjoy either alt+tab to go to GW2LFG.com or spamming in LA LFG etc. neither of these methods of LFG build “community” or what ever term people use.

I could break down your arguments against such a system point by point but I’m sure you’ve seen the arguments for a LFG system numerous times. My problem is that people like you are stopping, or at least, delaying ANet in implementing a system. Wouldn’t the best solution to your problem be simply to not use a LFG system and therefore only find other people who are not using such a system and are “better” or whatever term you want to use?

This game fixes and address so many of the problems that made the last generation of MMO’s bad eg. Trinity restricting play style/strategies, mob stealing, grouping in general, questing ect. But the instanced PvE is probably the worst I’ve ever experienced in an MMO.
