This is only my second post and I have been playing the game since beta. I feel I have to be vocal about the LB & CC changes. I did not speak up when the ranger received its nerf to short bow with no buffs or AI fixes which caused me to leave the game for 4 months.

Now it appears ANET is headed down the same road again only this time it is with the Warrior. Do not nerf the long bow. There are other threads that address this technically. Please read those and reconsider the changes.

In short, you are reducing its effectiveness for pure condition build, balanced condi/damage builds, and team play as a combo filed which is supposed to be one of the core mechanics of this game. If you say the LB helped make Hambow OP you have already addressed the hammer issues from several angles ruining it. Nerfing even more the LB to offset hammer damage is just not needed.

You and your team are very wrong about the LB.

Read “Not happy with new Combustive shot” thread as well as others.

To Anet,

Leave LB alone.

From a WvW perspective,

You have already nerfed the fire field radii for stage one making it more difficult to use the fire field as a combo for leaps and such to improve already weak sword/bow damage including how this combos with the others in a party. Now you are messing with its raw damage and condi-damage.

With the hammer and mace nerfs as well as the LB nerfs you will have hamstrung several (about 1/2) the viable warrior builds in WvW. (cc builds, condi sword/lb builds, damage s/x-lb builds)

Please rethink your upcoming balance changes.

Guild Wars 2 Repair Instructions for Windows®

If you are having problems running Guild Wars 2, the data archive may have become corrupted. Please follow these steps to verify and repair the archive:
1.Locate your Gw2.exe file.
2.Right-click on the file and select Create shortcut.
3.Rename this new shortcut to Guild Wars 2 Repair.
4.Right-click on Guild Wars 2 Repair and select Properties.
5.Locate the Target line and add -repair to the end. ?Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\gw2.exe” -repair

6.Click OK.

Double-clicking Guild Wars 2 Repair will begin the repair process. The game will launch when it is complete.

Note: Keep in mind that the verification and repair process will run each time you double-click the Guild Wars 2 Repair shortcut. If you would like to play the game immediately without repairing the archive, double-click on Gw2.exe or another shortcut without the -repair command.

What to expect:
1) it took about 8 minutes in the error screen then the normal connection scree with log in name came up. It said “verifying archive”. I could here the hard disk clicking away.

2) It then verified about 200,000 files which took about 4 minutes

3) then the game patch downloaded.

Same here “Connection Error(s) Detected. Retrying…” Tried complete reboot of Comcast router, wireless and pc.

Tried a different PC in the house which had not been updated in a while and it is downloading. Last update on that PC was about 3 months ago.

My black screen issue might be resolved 3 days no issues.. (fingers crossed)

Issue: random black screen sometimes 3 times in 5 minutes sometimes once in one hour. would happen crafting alone or in WvW zergs. Started sometime during the last Beta.

Symptom: the screen would go black. no cursor. gw2 game environment sound gone. gw2 music would still be playing. Would have to alt/tab, close supplication and restart it.

What I did summary. This last two weeks I completely rebuilt the computer and home network every component and cable changed including the Comcast cable from my house to the telephone pole. Cost about $1400 as some items I returned to the store.

Configuration now.

EVGA 570 latest drivers
ASUS Sabertooth Z77 LGA 1155
I7-2600K (standard clock)
8 gig ram 1600
Asus wireless adapter PCE-N53 300Mbs

Result: No Change, still black screening

The Last VooDoo changes:
a) port forwarded to the game using portforward.com
b) changed all my graphics settings down one notch. ie. ultra to high, high to med, etc….
c) in my router disabled “SIP DLG”, and disable “port scan and dos protection”
d) Changed a bunch of setting in the Nvidia panel. In short everything that could be set to “controlled by application” I set that way.
e) Changed the vert sync in game to 60

NOTE: I did all the above with my original hardware and (a,b,c, d,e) did not work.

Result: No black screen in three days.

Conclusion: total voodoo, break out the chicken and holy water, sprinkle twice, mash the keyboard and pray.

I am afraid to say if you have the “black screen issue” good luck trying to resolve it. This is definitely a long term game breaker which will cause Anet to loose a bunch of business at some point.

I can only hope mine is gone as the bottom line is this is a really good game.

Thank you for all the posts and suggestions as I am 100% certain there is no silver bullet for this.

My request is simple. Since I mostly play open world PVE and WvW do not limit the Ascended gear stats to only the FotM dungeon runs. In my opinion gear of the same stats should be attainable through all avenues of the game be it Crafting, WvW or Dungeons.
The fix is simple in concept.
a) Have a base ascended stat for gear
b) For FotM or for that matter any dungeon keep the Agony specific stat that way those that want to run dungeons have an incentive to grind through them. This could be through the same method you have now. Unique items from that dungeon crafted in the mystic forge.
c) For Crafters, make it so gear with ascended base stats can be crafted. The same principal can be applied as the game already has. So instead of say 5ea of an exquisite jewel to make an exotic ring it is now 10ea or even 15ea. Crafters now can make an ascended stat gear item. (no agony stat)
d) For WvW simple, turn in “x” amount of badges or some other token for the ascended stat gear. Make new vendor for this. (no agony stat)

I have played MMO’s for 6 years and this is my 1st post in an official forum in any game. I say this just to show how much I am put off with the SB Nerf. As stated by so many. Please fix the Nerf. I personally would prefer the SB mechanics returned their original state. Then a planned future fix of skills 2-5.

Someone mentioned in another post for the developers to take a look at our skill bar as set up for water battle.

In the mean time I have shelved an 80 full Exotic Ranger to explore Thief and Warrior.
However I fear Anet will just Nerf them in some strange way in the near future wasting yet another month or two of my time and money.

Mr. Developer the community has spoken. You say you want us to have fun then please let us have fun. As of right now we are all writing in the forums instead of playing your game which to me is NOT fun.

Lastly this is not the only GW2 related web site which is discussing the Nerf. There must be literally 1000’s of posts on this topic spread out on the Net.

I am having the “cannot purchase gems through credit card or paypal” issue. Made a purchase last week but am unable to purchase now.
