Had a match last night on Kyhlo where it took forever to load. By the time I zoned into the match, the countdown buzzer had just gone off. Spent the entire match being able to see the enemy players about 20 percent of the time. Most of the time their toon was completely invisible. Toon NPCs like ranger pet was visible and teammates were visible. Audio queues were greatly lagging. All of my skills and movements were responsive to inputs, however, so it wasn’t normal lag. Ended up calling targets on what I could see, mashing auto attacks on what my teammates were hitting, and doing “blind” skill rotations on point if I could figure out what class we were fighting.
Despite this adversity, won the match 500-170. (I feel like this is a testament to how bad some of the players are these days.) Earlier in the day, my duo q partner ran into the same thing. Didn’t have anything else streaming/downloading in background, was the only one on my net, and issue seemed to resolve itself after I rebooted the computer.
Anyone else have this issue?
It’s what comes in those Chests; always has, and, perhaps, always will: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Achievement_Chest
Remember, any Gold awarded (for the Achievement) comes within the Achievement Rewards (1 Gold, 2 Gold, 15 Gold, 30 Gold, etc.) No need to pay out twice, really.
It may be that a template was set up for particular Reward Chests, so they could add different Gold amounts easily, should they decide (in the future) to do so. And had to put something in the placeholder until such time. /shrug
Good luck.
That’s what I was thinking, a place holder. Everything I got from the chest followed the format listed on the wiki. Including the 1 copper, lulz. My post was mostly to see what other’s thoughts were on the AP chests. I feel like most of them are kind of meh, although the ones that give you gems are pretty nice rewards. I don’t think we need more gems more often, that iteration is decent, but the ones in between… maybe bump the siege bps up to superior and give you 5, make the booster a heroic booster, and/or give you gold that scales with the chest. Heck, these days we get 2g for finishing dailies, I don’t think rewarding players with a little extra gold would be that terrible…
Hit 24.5k AP with the dailys today… I know, I’m a little behind, but here’s what it gave me:
100 Badges of Honor
1 Normal catapult BP
1 Item booster
1 Revive Orb
1 Jug of Liquid Karma
5 Mystic Forge Stones
and
1 copper
Really ANet? 1 copper? I guess the Achievement Chests have always been this way, but what is that 1 copper for?
I remember the devs posting about this topic quite a few months ago, asking for suggestions on what to add to material storage… Any idea when new material storage is going to be implemented??
Probably been brought up but the quick search function didn’t come up with any finds…
Current PvP meta seems to have pigeon holed all three ranger traits to BM (because our pets aren’t good enough without it), Druid (team support, survivability), and NM. I think NM is largely brought due to the minor master Fortifying Bond. Has there been any discussion on baselining this trait so that it always occurs that pet shares boons with ranger? I know a lot of non-ranger mains might cry that this would be OP, but I don’t know if it would be.
If ANET baselined this trait, it would open up for more build diversity, I believe. NM not terrible, if you want a tankier build, you could still bring it. Before people start saying “oh you can play different builds”, yes, I’ve played multiple builds and had tons of fun with MM (remorseless) and condi builds with Skirmishing, but if you want to be taken seriously, you kind of need to bring NM.
I’ve heard that Mesmers used to have a grandmaster trait that made their toon count as an illusion when shattering, which got baselined. If they can get a grandmaster trait baselined, why can’t rangers have a master minor? (shhh I know rangers can’t have nice things). Considering the class mechanic is pet, why not? If people cry ranger OP because of this, then they need to learn how to fight rangers better and stop ignoring pets. It irks me when someone tells me in a match that I’m getting carried by my pet. Do mesmers get carried by clones? Do warriors get carried by adrenaline? Anyway, opening up for discussion.
If Anet could figure out a way to determine if a DC was due to lag out vs opt out, then it would be fair to give dishonor to opt outs at least 10 minutes- length of a match or more. There would be less quitters then… as far as idle players, there is always the report function.
Not all DC’s are because of lagging out. Several weeks ago, I ended up abandoning a couple matches since I was having GPU issues and the computer locked up when loading into the map. Other people could experience power or internet outages. All of those could resemble opting out of a match.
That’s specifically why I wish there was a way for Anet to differentiate the reasons why people DC. no need to punish those who lag due to ISP, GPU, server issues, etc.

How about bringing back the old GW1 goodie- ranger spirit FROZEN SOIL
What exactly don’t you like about the pets? There are a ton of reasons not to like them, just curious as to yours. The class “mechanic” for Rangers in GW2 is pets. Unlike GW1 where you could go petless, that’s not an option in this game. In the right hands, pets can be pretty useful. Theoretically, they are supposed to give rangers access to a lot of different skills that aren’t otherwise available to the class. Unfortunately ANet is still trying to (that’s an optimistic hope here) make pets more effective than their current state…
I rez people solely for selfish purposes- it builds Celestial force
Would be nice if tonics could be “storeable” like our minis. I feel like this could be done similar to the finishers tab in the Hero panel- Unlimited use and single use ones could be differentiated… I don’t actively collect tonics but I’ve got almost half a bank tab of them!
