Almost the same problem. Finished uni for the year and came home started playing on my mother’s laptop ( the reason I sayin this because it is almost brand new, doesn’t have almost nothing installed, solid anti virus and so on; no overheating as well).
8 gb ram, i5 processor, geforce 630 with 2gb. Everything was going well for the first couple of days but suddenly, 2 days ago, I started getting ridicolous frame rate drops, which made it impossible for me to play wvw, but the issue appeared in areas in such as the lost shores as well. It is just absurd because it drops even when I set the grafic options to the lowest and I get below 7-8fps in big battles even when everything is set to minimum.
This just drives me nuts, the game is pretty much unplayable for me right now ;/
It is normal to get such results during the first possible day of the change. Eventually the pre-made teams will stomp a couple of pugs, so that their rating is high enough to not be set against solo queuers. You can make this out just by reading the patch notes…
Posted this topic in june, hundreds of people posted the same thing since then, this is half an year late, thought that by now people would have figured out that there is no longer point in complaining….
The thing you said about variability in gw1 is bs mate. You had a set meta and could just obs any monthly finals and see teams running mirror builds with 2-3 different skills out of the 64 of the team. Anything else was dicking around in ra/ab or whatever
Just loved it. Played it the whole day yesterday, if you make it so it gives glory/rank, I am fairly sure that a considerable part ot the people doing hot join will switch to it. It is faster paced and don’t know why but somehow doesn’t feel as frustrating as the spvp ( that could be beucase at that point it is easy for someone who has done a fair bit of pvp to dominate pve people that are still bad at it and have come to try it out)
Find some friends to play with; even if you aren’t doing tourneys, just playing hotjoin with a friend or two no matter which side you end up on is many times more entertaining and less frustrating I might say.
Because you are not supposed to go to spvp without playing the game. If you friend made the effort of playing whatever might be for some time, he would grasp the game mechanics better and so on…
Besides there is no game I can think that you start playing and you are so kitten good from the start – you are supposed to get facerolled in the beginning because of the skill gap. People are already complaining that the game isn’t hardcore enough and you want it to be dumbed down even more?
apart from the sin being op at the moment, your logic is flawed – countering them is much less about reaction and reflex than being proactive and anticipating this stuff. That said, dealing with them takes skills above the one of the average scrub in the hot join…
