So I was looking at a news tile in my Google App feed earlier and one of the tiles was for some SAB-related items for Mining etc. The intriguing part was that on the right side of the page was a link for the new expansion titled “Shattered Hopes” with a purple tinge to the GW2 icon. I’ve not been able to find anything relating to this anywhere, is it an April Fool or an accident releasing information early?

So, when is the China release supposed to take place?

So this may sound like a stupid question, but I have to ask: how do I go about requesting a refund for my two sets of town-clothes?
I loved my mad-king and chef outfits but I really don’t like this new system at all.

Turn 25 of each Cypher into a “Key”, grind the “Thumper” machines scattered around the world (you loot the destroyed Thumper) and get 50 power core parts to make one power core. Go to the back of the Worm cave under the Durmand Priory and go to the right, there’s a fake wall to walk through to get into her lair.
Be advised that the power core has one use, if you have lots of the keys for the chests make sure you have a decent amount of inventory space; I came out of there with a lot of loot.

Will there be information regarding the next release put up on the Release page today?

Exactly, while I’m not 100% happy with the state of the game I am guardedly optimistic about the possibilities.
I’m itching to find out what’s in store for us.

I keep hearing that the next update is in a couple of weeks time, does anyone know when the next release information will be made public?

I dunno, I don’t expect Epic freebies on a plate or anything like that. I just feel that for the amount of time I put into the game I don’t seem to get much in the way of decent rewards.
Maybe I’m burned out on the game and need to seek greener pastures.

I’ve been playing since late Beta and for a while it looked like this was “The Game” for me. Lately with a lot of the Meta-achievements being un-inspiredly grindy I’ve begun to lose what focus I had in the game.
For the longest time I’ve worked towards the Flameseeker Shield as a goal of sorts, but after being away for the last two weeks I’ve kinda lost that focus and actually wonder wtf I’m even logging in for. Rewards from Champions or World-Bosses seem pretty crap, and it seems like I’m on a Treadmill that feels pointless if I stop looking at the Legendary items.
Is it just me, or is the reward system in this game as crap as I think?

Yep, had this account with toons since release. Have no problem logging into the Launcher or going into the game with an existing character but cannot create a new toon because of “Network Errors”.

I accepted the chest “rattling” over my mini-map, for some reason it only gave me the rewards chest but did not award me with the Laurels or the Gold. Last night I accepted the first of the Zenith rewards so I know I’m on the correct chest but tonight don’t seem to have got everything that the interface is telling me I should get.

Yep, it keeps intermittently disconnecting me as well.

I was looking at the GW2Stuff website and noticed that they have a UI overlay. Is this safe to use in that it won’t get flagged as a illegal piece of third-party software?

Also, if I decide to run Shadow Behemoth with a lower-level alt (say mid-thirties) does my chances of getting a Precursor disappear? And does this stay the same for any of the Dragon Bosses?

Sorry, I was replying to Juno.
I don’t particularly want to go the route of the Orrian boxes for the simple reason it becomes a case of grinding Karma just for a RNG chance of getting the shards. I don’t know what the drop-rate of doing it that way is but doing it like that has become yet another grind.
I just feel that I don’t mind having to do a chain of events that unlocks the vendor but this just happens to be a Temple that is the least “open” for whatever reason, and I don’t want this aspect of the game to become a session of watching websites for the opportunity to buy something in-game.

That’s exactly what I’ve been doing, the problem is the Temple does not seem to end up open very often these days. In the past month I’ve seen it open once on another server which I was able to guest on.

As I stands at the moment I don’t run Fractals (and probably never will) and am trying to save Laurels for Ascended Gear, so getting Obsidian Shards is pretty much locked to the Temple of Balthazar.
Over the last few weeks I’ve watched a third-party website for the status of the Temple because it’s never open on my server. Watching today and there’s been plenty of attacks on the Temple and no success.
It’s a little annoying when I put in a load of work to get enough Karma for the 250 Shards that I need for part of my Legendary recipe and the rest of the shards that I need for the Mystic Clovers, only for a few people (not enough) to turn up to a Temple Siege and fail miserably (Pact NPC’s being worse than useless) or have part of the event bug out (annoying) and be stuck with nothing to show after putting a lot of effort into just getting the currency alone.
Is there a specific reason why the Shards cannot be made available from another Temple vendor?

Would it be feasible/possible to incorporate some sort of UI addition that gives you some sort of heads up for the possible spawn of the World Bosses (Shadow Behemoth, Jormag etc)?
As it stands at the moment I have to use a third-party site for this information and all too often this isn’t completely accurate which means I miss out on something that I’ve specifically wanted to be involved in.
I was thinking of maybe some sort tab on the UI with the an indicator of World Boss status with a warning that alludes to the possibility of kicking off a Pre-event leading up to the boss encounter which would give folks plenty of time to get there before the “big” event starts. If it’s an official addition to the game then the ambiguity and error could be taken away from relying on a site that isn’t under A’net control.

Ok, I’ve been passively saving up my Karma since release and have just hit the 65k mark. Is there somewhere I can spend my Karma on decent weapons or Armor, like are there vendors in the world that sell “The Good Stuff”?
My Sword that I’m currently using is a 80 Yellow, I was wondering if the gear/weapons out there are gonna be on par with what I already have or can I use my Karma to upgrade past this level of gear.

Any help is appreciated.

Ok, I’ve been playing since release and love the game. I love the variation in the different classes and all the different skills etc, and up til now I’ve enjoyed doing Jumping Puzzles and DE’s etc.
Then I hit 80. I’m still trying to carry on with my personal story, I’m in the Straits of Devastation and because my Gear is a little “lacking” I’m finding the zone to be a pain. Looking around or posting in the Map channel there does not seem to be much player activity and so the contested waypoints have stayed contested for days.
So I thought that I could maybe put down some Gold on the Tier 3 Cultural armor, what I didn’t realise is that it was so expensive, and for some reason the mats that I have in abundance in my Bank don’t sell for much at all and all the things that I need to craft better armor are obscenely expensive. I thought about buying some Gems and trading in for Gold but then can’t bring myself to do it because it’s just going to cost too much.
I’ve boosted some of my gear and even put some Magic-Find Runes on but the amount of drops I’ve had this week are always blue and dropping far less than what they were before.
I’ve hit a wall in my PvE and my understanding of WvW is that there is Invader Armor to aim for but that is about it, my only other recourse was to work on the original dungeons but the activity on those has dropped through the floor and I have no interest in grinding FoTM as that model of Gear-progression is one of the reasons I left “that other game” over twelve months ago.

I’m not sure why I’m posting, if I’m asking for advice or what. What I thought was gonna be “my game” has now ended up putting walls up (primarily because even though I hoard everything it doesn’t seem to be worth anything).

Anyone got any ideas or constructive feedback on what’s happening with the game?
I wasn’t expecting a grind-fest to this extent.

Hey, my main is level 77 and apart from the MK dungeon during Halloween he’s only been into one Dungeon (AC Story-mode).
Is there any pressing reason why I should do the Story-mode dungeons (apart from getting to know the encounters)?

Yeah, I gave up. I did enjoy it though, I only gave up because while I was certain that I would eventually beat (I was getting further up there over time) I didn’t want to spend all of my time on the Tower itself; there were other things that I wanted to do while the event was still on.

For me the whole event got a solid “A”.
