I’ve noticed this happening as well and although it’s not game breaking… it’s fairly annoying and very noticeable.
Love the work vgomes, summourn, and Murke have done! I agree with everyone else asking for more long hair. I’d also like to see more curly hair options, plants can be curly right?
I don’t have the artist skills to transform these into leafy/planty ideas but the following examples are the kind of thing I’d like to see Sylvari’d. Rufiooooooooo!
(would love to see more Asura hair options in the future as well)
I hate to necro, but I still know a lot of people interested in this >.>
I am one of those people! We have the hair kit now and that is great, we are not completely locked into one choice forever any more. It is, however, a very expensive solution if you want to change the colour regularly. Also, we are still limited to the 21 starter colours.
If we could at least have access (via the hair kit) to some of the 383 other colours/shades it might alleviate some of the frustration people have. If Abyss dye was an option for example, I’d buy a hair kit, pick that and be done with it.
I’d be more than happy to purchase an item that gave us more options or the permanent ability to continuously change the colours. As it stands, the hair kit just doesn’t seem worth it to me (for hair accessory colour).
One thing that might improve the mega boss events is unpredictability.
The first time I experienced the big events, it was fun, interesting and engaging. Eventually, once you have played through them over and over…they become stale. That is when players start to “auto pilot” their way through. This leads to the impression that the event is boring and needs to be improved. No amount of new boss skills or event mechanics will change that in my opinion (although some new ones would be nice).
In order to counter that, there needs to be some diversity each time. Players will learn how to deal with each skill or mechanic, but if they don’t know when that skill is coming, or in what order the mechanics will be…it might keep players more engaged.
A good example of this (on a smaller scale) is in SAB. Players have got to the point where running through most zones and dealing with the cages is second nature. Yet when it comes to King Toad, you always have to pay a bit more attention.
Am I the only one that consistently runs into trouble with this jump? At certain angles I seem to hit an invisible wall and bounce back mid jump. Not sure if it’s me or the game but I’ve done SAB so many times now, I’m leaning towards the latter.
(World 2 – The last crocodile in the first set you come across)
The following sequence was supposed to happen:
- Trebuchet is built by workers
- Ancient Karka shows up
- Trebuchet fires at Ancient Karka
- Ancient Karka jumps into the water and flees to Southsun Cove
- Boat to Southsun Cove is available
- Players travel to Southsun Cove to fight karka there
A lot people are saying that the Ancient Karka didn’t show up on the overflow servers. On the overflow server I was in, the Trebuchet was built and then the tool tip in the corner updated to say the boat was available. Players rushed over and sailed away, I had waited for my party to be ready before moving on. A few minutes later the Ancient Karka part of the event started. We were lucky enough to have caught it.
So maybe the problem wasn’t that it didn’t happen in overflows, it was just in the wrong order. The boat was made available to early, leading a lot of people to jump the gun and ultimately miss parts of the event.
Not sure if this is even possible but perhaps the solution lies in “Special Event Servers”. Before new content is released, give all players a chance to pick a new temporary sever best suited to their time.
For example, aim for three set times to suit the biggest player groups and then provide a selection of servers for each of those groups. Oceanic, European…and so on. All groups would have a few servers each to accommodate the player base of that demographic.
It would not be perfect, as one group would get content early and the others would have to wait, but at least everyone would have the chance to experience it in a setting the “one time events” are designed for.
After the event, you can go back to your home server and do as you please. WvWvW would be a problem but hey…I’m no expert, just throwing the idea out there!
