Im falling short in understanding something.

You have a new event that from my understanding is insanely huge in the lore of guild wars 2. People are very excited and you have been promising rewards for a long fought living story line that to be quite honest have not arrived.

The new patch drops and one looks at the events…..

Why did you not just make the zodiac armors a part of the event and not another plug in the gem store?

Why is it that 90% of the news we now see from nc soft is ALL about the gemstore.

Im sorry guys and i could be totally wrong here.. but i feel like this event took a back seat to gem store pimping this time around..

Am i wrong in how i feel please if i am help me understand how all this gem store work is necessary.

I understand that they need to make money and i understand that we don’t have to buy. But at what point. At what ratio of time must we spend looking at these announcements and in-game features to sell things.. at what point do we decide that it is needless pandering and at what point do we decide that the game has become more of a money spending simulator.

I must be wrong here but its honestly how i feel. I know they have to make a living.. but i feel the ratio has just started tipping way to much in favor of the gem store.

I did not respond sooner because i wanted a chance to try all the suggestions. As it stands from the time of my first post it has been around three days.

I have put to use some of the suggestions made and have gotten zero out of it.

I see the Same cap points that i have been seeing for months (colors did not rotate sorry if you think they did)

I am going to keep waiting and keep watching. And months from now when i come back with proof that the points on my map are NOT rotation. Then maybe i can get some actual help.

Sweet, I am going to go out on a limb and bet that once people notice how hard getting world complete done is now that seasons are underway. They will start being rather unhappy and anerf will have no choice but to make the points rotational on a month schedule or something. that way you dont run the risk of players going for years and years without even the chance of capping certain points.

Well long story short is this, i hate pvp. I hate world vs world. I do pve.

I have zero desire to do any pvp. However this game forces me into wvw for my pve achievement that is World Completion.

Due to season 1 the current battleground that i reside in has not captured the points i need in well over six months.

These points have NOT flipped. im sure if you spend every waking moment on the game they may flip once every half month or so.. but nobody can do that.

So my question is would transferring to another server help my world complete? because like i said i dont want to pvp.. I HATE IT.. i endured it enough to get it to where i only need 2 more points left to be done.. 99% map completed on my pve achivement.. and stupid wvw requires that i cap the enemy bases that NEVER CAP NOW BECAUSE OF SEASON ONE…

so i want to transfer to a low pop server where all the points in eternal battleground are constantly changing. that way i can get this pvp crap finished and move on to what i enjoy.. pve.

my question is are there low pop flipping servers that they are letting you transfer to for free? or do i have to pay more money on top of everything else simply so i can have a chance at finishing my PVE ACHIEVEMENT.

Well as it stands i had no choice but to take it upon myself.

So i farmed and entire set of power/percision/crit damage.

I have a full exotic set for armor.. 2 exoitic tomes.. 2 pink rings.. and a greatsword.. all increasing the same 3 stats.. power percision and toughness..

I grabed the most popular damage builds. and i have spent the better part of this week testing and feeling out the build.

Between a full soldiers survival build (designed to take aggro off less durable teamates so you can do the kiting/cooldown tanking thus saving teamates from damage or needless kiting)

and the full damage build i used some of you very responders to help me build..

and while i admit the damage is impressive. I feel more useful in my survival spec and soldiers gear.

I honestly think alot of people are underestimating the ammount of damage (non crit) my survival build does.

Because i have tried both and now own and enjoy both.. but survival is now my favorite..

BUT THIS HAS GIVEN ME ALL NEW IDEAS..

so i have concluded the only safe thing to do is farm a full set of every single stat set in the game. that way i can pick and choose at my leisure..

my next investment is power/vitality/condition damage gear.. and yes im going to try a mace/shield/hammer block retaliation burn them into the ground build of doom.

so enjoy your math and spreadsheets.. im going to play the game.. enjoy the game.. and keep playing my best as part of the group..

hell in hindsight… i think you could give me a garbage bag for an armor set and a sheet of paper with the word skills written on it and i would still find a way to make it work for me.

I like this game and im going to play it. I think im done with all the opinion giving and taking.

i have to admit i dont like it when people hate on the concept of a player holding aggro in this game.

Do i think i hold aggro constantly.. no.. do i think its helpful to have a tank that knows what he is doing.. yes..

You can’t tank in this game. Don’t fool yourself into thinking you can viably tank.

As some guy figured that the mobs have different targeting priorities.

1 . Proximity, the closest target towards them.
2. Downed players
3. Players with the least vitality
4. Players with the most toughness

Though all these and more change depending on the mob, you are in no way tanking fractals, not even migrating the damage thrown by mobs. You simply become a punching bag for a few seconds or for longer depending on all of the above and more. Not on the symbols, skills, consecration ground you use.

While i understand your point of view, I disagree.

While “tanking” in this game my job is simple.

1: hold the attention of the mob.
2: keep personal movement low so the mob stays on you.
3: use cool downs properly with limited dodge to survive damage
4: begin kiting when necessary (rarely)

I have tanked every dungeon in this game. while your right some involve kiting or knowing what mechanics to dodge.. my definition of tanking in this game is simply “soak damage that would otherwise kill teamates and i keep aggro off teamates”
how i acomplish that feat be it “face tanking” or “kiting” or “cooldown cycling” is irrelevant. I am still keeping things from killing my teamates.

TLDR: i disagree tanking is just different in this game. if you think its not useful then i have no choice but to call you plain wrong.

I have been using a 203020 build that focusing on improved symbols and grabs longer consecration (for reflect wall) and virtue condition removal. also i grab the toughness to allies bonus (i have never had aggro issues with this) and the 20% reduced shield cooldowns…

I love tanking in this game i feel it is engaging and fun. I have tanked fractals 20 and feel i can keep going. also i feel being this tanky makes me an excellent kite aswell and i find that can often be needed.

I wanted to show people what i have so far and ask for any input (also i have now finished my 5 ar for my neck).

Months ago i stopped playing this game because i could not go for more than five minutes without disconnecting (totally crashes my net lights blink and everything). I told arena net about it and got the typical answer of submit a report so we can make you wait months for an automated reply. At the time i did alot of research and found many with the issue.

well months have passed and I am still reading about people having issues with the game disconnecting their internet. apparently it has something to do with a qos thing that gw2 installs.

anyone got any updates on this? or any possible solution. I know for a fact (thanks to the struggles trying to fix this problem earlier) that it is a problem between what gw2 does and my isp.

I honestly feel kinda cheated as i spent money on the game (and due to recommendations from tech support) spent a ton of money replacing every inch of phone line and accessories in my house. all to have it be a problem between my isp and gw2.

what one time events..lets see.. that one time event for when mad king bursts out was a 15 second cut scene and a mess of falling to my death.. and after mad king bugged out for the 10th time.. and teleported back up to the second floor.. we finally downed him and i had to fall my way back down to the chest that gave me 2 greens worth 1 silver and some bags that had candy corn and some teeth…

if that was the one time only event then thank god because i dont think my heart could handle that intensity twice.

got suspended for my character name that has been around from guild wars 1 beta. even after i asked two gw2 reps about it and they said yes.

They tell you one thing then turn around and stab you in the back with a ban once they have your money.

i dont doubt that i will be perma banned soon for some random nonexistant reason then all the cash i wasted on this game will have been wasted..

the game gets a 10.. the support structure for the comunity in the game… gets a 2 of 10…

i am pretty angry so i could not walk away without saying something else. You know arena net. i have got a pretty bad feeling that your customer support is lacking.

At first i wanted this game to beat wow into the ground. so i pumped my money into the games microtransactions. But hearing about all the issues people are having with getting hacked/tech support/random bans..

i have to say keep my money but i really dont care if this game does better than wow anymore. How in gods name can an mmo with HALF ON A GOOD DAY the subscribers of wow.. have HORRIBLE customer service..

also i just want a phone number i can call so i can speak to a real person to resolve my issue..wow has it with umpteen billion more players i just don’t see how a legitimate company does not have phone based account support.

for how supportive the community has been over your game release.. you could have given a bit better customer support than what you have been..

i got suspended for my name aswell. its absurd considering i ASKED THEM IN BETA if i could use the name and got the go ahead from 2 different arena net responses.

I was just suspended for my character name apparently. What i would like to know is how this came to be when IN BETA i asked a mod if my name was ok. He said it was fine.
I came here and made a post asking if it was ok for me to have that name and i did not receive any issues.

I went through all the right channels was told 100% that my name was fine by two different people and yet i am still banned?

what can i do to fix this because i feel i was wronged by riot on this. i dont feel my name violated any rules at all. and i feel having asked the people who work for riot myself i would be allowed to keep my name LET ALONE not be actually punished for it.

i appreciate any help riot can offer.

I am 30 points into zeal 30 points into radiance with all the right things picked to assist condition damage and great sword damage.

finally i go 10 into honor for 20% faster shout recharge…

i load my skill bar up with signet of resolve.. retreat.. save yourself hold the line and renewed focus.

gear wise i build heavy into power with vitality and condition damage close second. i try to keep all gear having these three attributes..

this build works great for me and allows me to tank or kite off a ton of cool-downs with nearly constant ways to keep an aegis up.. all the while im burning and keeping damage high. with great group bonuses and my own personal group cleanse\dps buff.. top it off with an elite skill that gives you 3 more seconds of immunity and another dps heal and aegis cool-down.. its utility to the max… and those shouts are nearly always up with that 20% cool-down reduction

While i am very happy with this build i have, i am still looking to improve. so if anyone has any ideas or tips or suggestions lemme know.

Neither actually Im a wildland firefighter for the united states forest service. I spent the months of may until now traveling to fires and working 16 hour shifts just to sleep in the dirt when you finally do get some sleep. Do that 14 or 21 days in a row.. then 2 days off.. and repeat until snow falls. eventually after you realize that just spent all summer working twice as hard as a one of those cool people with the smart guy jobs.. you will want to relax all winter.

Yes i have actually spent a decent amount on this game. because i spent all summer working my tail off and dreaming about this game. Now i have an entire jobless winter to throw at guild wars 2. 4 more days of work baby. then coast mode.

^and anyone who thinks that’s a bad thing needs to realize i worked not only your normal 80 hour pay period But an additional 142 hours of overtime. so ya.. i can do what i want.

as for the line issue.. the whole qos thing makes sense. im going to ask my isp about it. and about getting a higher quality router.

Wow, first i would like to thank all of you for your responses. how awesome.

Anyways i was and am still having a very severe disconnection issue. However after having a tech look it over it seems to have slowed a bit. nothing make sense.. when i get disconnected the internet light in my router goes out.. then the adsl light starts flashing… i used to think this only happened when i was on gw2.. but now it happens when i browse or stream movies. it even happens when im doing nothing.. and it has even happened when the computer is off.. I have 2 different modems that do the same thing.,.. 6 different filters that do the same thing…. a wireless card and built in ethernet that do the same thing… i feel like i have covered all my bases and it is still happening…

My only possible solution now is that a while back.. when i bought my new home phone… (before gw2 even launched) when i first started using it it had an issue with sometimes the phone would just sound terrible.. all staticy and jarbles.. so im going to replace the phone and hopefully fix my dissconect issues.. probably not though.. and ashley i am downloading and installing what i need to get the report going.. its late so i may not get to playing tonight…. so i will probably do it after work tomorrow.

wouldn’t hurt to add this feature in i guess.

The simple fact of the matter is that yes it would be a simple feature to add.. and one that would add piece of mind to people everywhere who have purchased pets with gems purchased with actual money.

Simple security for peace of mind thats all it is. besides i would like to see one of every pet in the game be soulbound to me..

also while we are at it.. Hey arena net please add the ability to summon pets from your bank. that way you don’t have to pull em out every time you want to show em off.

Last Sunday night was a very strange night for me. My personal story sent me off to a faraway land where i charged headfirst into battle with a poison spitting kitten stomping mega-bird they like to call dragon. after the thirty minute epic battle where i fought on division c of the dragon-map(aka left toenail)whilst shouting my buffs into the swampy night air praying they would reach the ears attacking the other toe nearly a mile away.
the dragon was whittled to a head then i helped myself to a titanic bounty. I later chose to enter town to log-out for the night. i found a band of champions… misfits… like myself.. they swore the same oaths as i and we greeted with a swing of the greatsword. I joined my brethren in fellow sword swinging marching combat. A journey that we prayed would lead us to rum. Nearly passing out from laughter. I had the presence of mind to turn off the ui.. and take a screenshot.. the whole experience was pretty fun.

I plan to use it. I am just suggesting this as added security. I know it would make me feel more safe and its a simple thing anyway.

Anyways i suggest that mini pets should have a right click option to soulbind them. Because lets face it. Guild Wars 2 accounts are getting hacked pretty darn fast. And the first thing they probably do is grab your mini pets and sell them. If collectors had the option to right click and make soulbound. they could permenantly store a single mini pet of every type until they had the entire collection. And it would be 100% safe cause hackers only care about stuff they can sell. please enable this option in the next patch because im sure many collectors would appreciate the added security.

Ok so word on the street is that a ton of people have already gotten hacked. So please arena net give us the the option of soul binding our mini pets that way when we get hacked said hacker will not throw all our minis up on the ah for some quick gold..
Just add the option to right click it and bind it to your guy. (some of us plan to collect our mini pets not sell them)

Yes i have updated my routers firmware. the other thing you are talking about im not sure what that is.

I have my phone line installed directly from the phone box.. about 8 feed through my wall and into my jack. then from my jack into the back of my router/modem. then into my computer via ethernet.. i have replaced every single part at least 2 times to make sure the problem is not on my end.. my ping and speedtests are perfect.. i have had my lines checked.. i have replaced my router.. and filters… i have replaced my phone… i have replace my phone line.. i have done full updates.. full windows installs. and full gw2 installs.. i have dont it all.. same code 7 follows by 3032 if you are paitent and do not mash ctrl alt dlt out of anger.

and i live in a small mountain area with a single isp… no other options. however i have had this never forever and never had a single issue.. installed gw2 betta and played without issue… logged on after getting home from a fire assignment and went to play the gw2 and boom.. started disconecting.. started slow.. increased in duration.. now i cannot play more than 5 minutes without a dc.. unplayable.

i made a post about quitting im tired of waiting for a fix.. i pay 105 dollars a month for net and around 400 total for gw2 and for that price i get an unsolvable problem…
my biggest problem is that now that i have had the dc’s in gw2.. my net seems to dc whenever it feels like it now.. gw2 or not..but loading up gw2 and playing for more than 10 minutes without the error is impossible now.. its always a code 7 then if you wait around a code 3032. My net errors even force my routers internet light go go off and adsl lights to blink for about 20 seconds… BEST GAME OF 2012/MOST UNPLAYABLE GAME OF 2012

From day one i have had this problem… Im running a comcast ct-5361…

this problem actually causes my router to show my internet light off and my adsl light flashing.. i have fought my isp for months to try and resolve it. but they are clueless.. i have spend countless hundreds replacing every inch of cable from me to the box.. i have replaced routers.. and cards.. i have tried wireless and wired.. i have wasted time and money on fixing this horrid problem. and it all started with gw2 being installed.. i have tried countless fixes…. nothing works.. nothing helps..

if anyone else is getting freequent router crashes.. and gw2 seems to make they crashes happen constantly… and the error reads code 7 followed by code 3032.. i suggest you just stop too because there is no fix for it.

yes as you can tell i am pretty angry i have been waiting forever for this game.. spent 75 bucks on two copies of the game for a friend and myself.. then spend like 200 getting ingame stuff.. all to have it end shortly after starting because gw2 seems to crash my router more than cocane crashes movies stars.

That would make good desktop wallpapers. So i toss the good ones up. its something i just started doing and if people dig it then i will keep doing it. check it out.

I posted last night about a email scare that i got when logging onto the game after returning from a fire assignment. Now i log on to find the server all my friends are on is full. I was hoping to get a bit of help with this… ya know.. seeings how i was out sleeping in the dirt… saving other peoples houses from burning to the ground and all… so ya.. i understand if you can offer no help.. but it would be alot cooler if you could lol..

Ok. so i fight wildland fire. i went to a fire assignment two weeks ago before gw2 was launched.. i have prepurchased and played in the beta.. So when i get home not only have i missed the launch… but i find that in my email inbox there are about 10 password change messages in my inbox..SO I FREAK OUT… thinking im hackerd and stuff…

I go and log into this site to check my account and hopefully make a ticket.. and BAM i login with my same old info…

Im really scared and dont know what to do… please help cause i dont wanna loose my account that thing cost 75 bucks.
