Guild Wars 2

Hi everyone,
I’ve had the game since launch and never got around to finishing my hints until now.
The only two hints I have left are the ranger pet charm and swap.
I have charmed 2 pets now and the hint still says not completed. Is there something more to it?
For the pet swap, I believe I read I have to let my pet die for that to pop, is that true?

Almost no “essential” items cost much at all. Your full exotic set & runes/sigils will cost you, at most, about 50g tops. Everything that costs money will be cosmetic.

Make money the fun way, by playing how you want. Don’t kitten around doing boring, menial tasks just ‘cause it gives an extra buck, that’s a fools errand.

I’m working toward my legendary now, which is why I need money.
I have 62G right now, and that’s the richest I have ever been.

I sometimes use GW2 as a backdrop for my discussions—especially when GW2 is the topic of my dissertation that video. However, you’ve listed everyone that I actually spend time looking at when it’s time for me to get my GW2 YT fix.

GW2 economy videos about how to play the market and what’s in the market have been hit-or-miss for me. While there’s some nice data mining sites out there (e.g. gw2spidy.com) they’re not always the best to use—it’s almost stock market like. Also: It’s not what I do in game to make money.

I’ll keep an eye out for video makers who focus on that area and report back if I find anything.

I have been playing Guild Wars 2 since beta. I am finally looking to make the jump into joining a guild and getting into the all that GW2 has to offer and make some friends along the way.

A quick background about me:
I am a 20 year old college student and GW2 is actually my first real MMO. I feel like I have learned a lot about mechanics and such, but I won’t be as informed as most of you. (I’ll do my best to get up to speed as fast as possible)
I would prefer an 18+ guild, but it is not necessary.
I have a mic and headset, I have a pretty flexible schedule, free almost every night from 6:00 EST until around 2:00am EST

I would prefer to stay in Stormbluff because my roommates also play and are in this world, but it is not a deal breaker if I do have to switch.

Right now I only have one level 80 (Thief) and I haven’t really decided on any alts yet.

So, I am fairly new to MMOs. This being my first one, and I have played it since beta. I have only played one character and that is my aura thief.
95% of the time I am doing solo PVE and I was wondering what everyone thought the best profession for solo PVE is.
I feel like with my D/D thief I die too quickly if I have more than 2 or so enemies attacking.
Any suggestions?

Guild Wars is also my first MMO, but I have had the luxury or joining a guild early, and they have helped me through most of the learning. I’ll see if I can help you out.
1)The letters in brackets I am 90% sure are the guild they are in. I am in NO DICE guild, and I have DICE in brackets after my name
2)I usually do my personal story once I am the level needed or a couple ahead. It really doesn’t matter when you do it, just as long as you do
3)I do not believe there is any “guild recruiting office” in game, but there is a place on these forums where people advertise their guilds. I would take a look there if you can
4)Joining a guild was the best thing I could have done to help with my learning of MMOs. If you find the right guild, they won’t mind helping you out or answering questions, so long as you remain an active part of the guild, follow rules, contribute to their growth, ect. If you are a good guildmate, you will be treated like family
5)The slang in this game was a little difficult for me to pick up on as well. For your particular example LF1M does mean looking for one member or one more. TA corresponds to the dungeon they are trying to do and EXP means they are doing the run for experience, not for the story.

I have a thief as my main right now.
Thieves are enjoyable if you like constantly moving during battle trying to avoid attacks while also maintaining melee distance.
My only issue with my thief was that I felt he was a bit squishy for pve and didn’t do enough damage/has no boons to compensate.
At the moment I too am looking for a new class to play, I was thinking warrior, but not sure yet
