This still hasn’t been fixed and I haven’t seen anyone from Anet acknowledge, can we get word on it’s progress? I’ve made 700 gems worth of gem store purchases that have never arrived, with more from friends on top of that.

Not receiving player or gem store mail

I’ll jump straight to the point!

About 5 days ago, a friend sent me a bunch of crafting materials that never arrived. 2 days ago, I purchased 2x Dye Pack from the gem store, and they still haven’t arrived. Today, a friend sent me a bow, and it still has not arrived. However, I am able to receive mail from NPC’s just fine.

Anyone else having this issue or is it isolated?

[Warning] Kicking a player resets the dungeon with no warning

If this is an intended feature, this is the only thing in the game that haskitten me off. Here’s the story:

So, we get a group going for Arah. We go through, do the cores, the airship, the mini-dragons, etc. However, during the part where you have to kill the 2 dragons on the air ship, one of our players seemingly got bored or annoyed and went AFK. He was AFK the entire fight, and into the next section facing Zhaitan on the large ship. Not wanting someone who bailed on us to mooch and get rewarded, we vote-kicked him from the party.

Immediately we were all transported to the Cursed Shore, outside the instance, and upon re-entering the dungeon had reset. There is no way this is intentionally designed to do that – and it’s pretty annoying I’ve now wasted money and time and didn’t even get to finish it.

Anet, please look into this, and I certainly hope it’s not intended!

Adressing a split in the community

I can guarantee you that it’s not a 50/50 split. The people on these forums who yell that dungeons are fine are a minority.

The first solution is to make StoryMode dungeons easier.
So average players can actually do them, finish them, have fun, and see the Stories.

What happens with ExplorationMode dungeons is another issue. I can’t say, because I am not level-80, and I haven’t seen them. In general, I am fine with hardmode dungeons being hard. But StoryMode should be easy. Easier than they are now. They should require a little effort during the run. But they should not require preparation, reading guides, having the proper build, having good gear, or locking you into using one particular weapon or play-style. They should not require guildies/friends only, nor voicecom. Easy mode should be easy.

I’ve done 6/8 story modes so far (excluding HoW and Arah) and while I agree, some parts are absurdly difficult at times, my main gripe is that the HP pools are too high in some areas. It’s kind of an ‘artificial difficulty’. Most notable, CoE story needs HP pools nerfed in a couple of fights.

However, I disagree that overall difficulty is too high. I’ve never prepared for a dungeon, read guides, or changed my build for a dungeon – I was typically not geared optimally for the dungeon as well, and on top of that I was a warrior using a greatsword (maximum inefficiency!). I completed all of the dungeons with PUGs – what’s funny to me when people complain is that at first I can understand it, but once you fail a fight once or twice, you tweak your tactics and suddenly the fight becomes really easy. This has been true for every fight. It’s become my favorite part about dungeons.

tl;dr: Agree and disagree on different points. Dungeons require adaptability.

Needs a better PVE endgame

I agree with Arisal. GW2 ‘endgame’ is not and should not be what people typically expect from MMO’s (LFD, raids). Mostly because those aren’t very interested or fun systems. Gear grind is counter intuitive to what GW2 is all about – so no to “gear leveling” as well.

GW2 isn’t going to be like WoW, if you wanted WoW.. That’s why there’s WoW. GW2 will be its own game in its own right and I support the lack of traditional endgame content.
