Just wanted to mention…if you reboot your machine, be sure to give it at least 30 seconds before turning it back on. If this is a memory issue, then the capacitors will need time to discharge and dump the memory. Just a restart may not work. We had to remove the app, and now it works. Will see for how long. I have been working with tech support, but they have been useless.

Rebooting the computer will make sure the .dat file isnt being used. We had to click on it a couple of times before it would register. We ended up just trashing the whole thing, and reinstalling. Now we can play it (at least, till the next time it crashes).

Did this process also wipe out some of your Apple preferences?

@sephalo,
Don’t worry about 32- or 64-bit. 4 gig of memory should be fine, but I did a quick test and GW2 takes 2 gig memory. Now that is not in a high volume area, I just logged in and took a quick look. You may want to look at what other applications are running at the same time. For me, I hit 4.2 gig, but I have outlook and 4 Chrome windows open, plus some utility software. My machine has 8 gig so it doesnt bother my computer. Like another poster stated, logging on you won’t need that much. Even at the character screen it was just another couple of hundred mb, but when I went in, thats when it all started. And, now that i think about it, I have a 1 gb hd as well, so that probably helps some.

Yeah, it has been going out every couple of hours, but this is the first time it wouldn’t let me back in. I have a ticket in, but we will see how long that takes.

My husband is a PC guy, not Apple. We are thinking about the possibility of doing a reinstall to a different folder. Sometimes an uninstall does not wipe out everything, so some files are left behind.

Yes, tried restarting the computer. Renaming the GW2 folder; will that reinstall the program? Do you know of a way to remove and reinstall the launcher itself?

I have been playing HoT since yesterday. Yes, I get the occasional kick, but no biggie. I got kicked today, and the whole game broke. I click the GW2 Icon, and the game starts on the menu bar but nothing happens. I have to force quit to get it closed. I have updated the installer and nothing. I tried the Termial.app to repair the client, but same thing, game starts on menu bar and nothing.
