I’m really hung up on the fact this was once again a change for “confused new players.”
If the new players you’ve started to cater to are so uber-casual that they can’t grasp something as simple as the gold-to-gem exchange interface, do you expect them to stick around once they get into the more complicated aspects of the game? Do you think they’ll have the patience to grind up 150+ gold for a single outfit? Are you going to dumb everything else down to the point the game is full of nothing but bored, facerolling casuals?
as if it isn’t casual enough. that’s beside the point, though.
I, along with what seems to be everyone else, am not buying into this reasoning. :s
I honestly thought Guild Wars 2 would be doing pretty well.

In response to claims that it’s a cultural thing among asura…
Do you think lore has any bearing in the gem store? lol.
Also wondering this. I was incredibly disappointed I couldn’t wear that gorgeous dress on my main. :\
I realize there is little difference in male and female asura in terms of body shape. However, we’ve gotten the female version of other gem store outfits and there appeared to be no problem. It doesn’t make sense to me.
I just wanna run around in a pretty dress.
Try this.
D3d9.fx in the Gw2 Main folder
Dxgi.fx in the Gw2 Main folder
Log.txt in the Gw2 Main folder
SweetFx_Presets + SweetFX_Settings in the Gw2 Main folder
SweetFX Folder in the Gw2 Main folderD3d9.dll + Dxgi.dll in the Bin folder
Then rightclick your gw2 shortcut and add /nopatchui ,try it again.
The good news: I actually have a window opening.
The bad news: I have the perma black screen that comes with using /nopatchui sometimes. I also added /email and /password. It changed nothing.
Ugh. I’ve pretty much given up. Nothing works.
copy files to /bin directory
All of them? Or just d3d9.dll , dxgi.dll and injector.ini — Because that’s what I’ve been doing and it won’t allow my game to even start.
So I’ve gotten tired of how washed-out the game looks and decided to reinstall SweetFX.
I’ve tried using both the configurator and manually installing. The result is…nothing. The game looks no different when I toggle SweetFX on.
Yes, I’ve turned off SMAA. Still nothing. I used different presets. Nothing. This is all without split installing.
When I try to split install, the game just doesn’t work at all. I log in, press Play, and nothing happens. No window pops up, no error message.
I tried to go for an alternative and install FXAA Tool. The results were exactly the same.
I feel like there may be something with permissions that’s preventing things from running now. Any kind of tampering with the bin folder will not allow my game to run. Has anyone else had a similar problem?
