GW2 Dont recognize USB Headset after patch.

After reading this thread, I went to see if this also applied to my setup. I’m using using Jabra Rox Bluetooth earbuds on a USB Bluetooth 4.0 dongle.

From the character select screen, I brought up the Options panel and switched to the Bluetooth Audio Renderer (Stereo). At first, I didn’t hear anything, so I started trying out the other Bluetooth audio options. When I switched to Bluetooth Hands-free audio (mono), I was able to hear the theme music, but very faintly. I turned up the volume on my headset and tried the Stereo option again, and was able to hear the music.

Satisfied that I didn’t have the problem, I exited the game, but then remembered that I forgot to switch back to the default sound device. so I restarted the game and went back to the audio options panel, but was only able to select the default sound device, which was still playing through the Bluetooth headset, instead of through the sound card (Realtek ALC898 on the ASRock FM2A85X Extreme6 motherboard).

Then I exited the game once again, turned off the headset, then restarted the game. The audio was then playing through the sound card, but the audio options still gave the “Default Sound Device” as the only device option.

So it seems that this problem also applies to USB Bluetooth devices as well as USB headphones. I’m also using 64-bit Windows 7 with the latest generic Windows USB Bluetooth device drivers (updated when I first connected the Jabra Rox headphones a week ago).

So unless you’ve got another one of your kind lurking in the bay, it is within the best interest of public safety that I hunt you down like the white whale you’ve become.

Asian/Chinese text in chat box shows up blank

It’s not specific to Macs. I am running Windows and have several styles of both simplified and traditional Chinese fonts installed — as well as Korean and Japanese fonts — and none of the Chinese, Korean or Japanese text shows in guild chat.

When entering Chinese/Korean/Japanese text using the Microsoft IME, the foreign text indicator shows up in the text entry box of the client (for Chinese, the character “? [zhong]” appears, indicating it’s in Chinese mode). When I type in the pinyin of a word, the Chinese character choices do show up below the text entry box, but when selecting the proper character, it just shows up as a blank space in the box. When I hit enter, nothing shows up in the chat window after my name.

As for where the client was purchased, I bought the electronic version online from the Guild Wars 2 site. I’ve never had a physical boxed disc.

I just tried this in Lion’s Arch (non-overflow) and got the full 200 as well.
