Full official controller support!
This would make a tremendous difference when more control is needed- particularly with jumping puzzles. Keyboards do not do this very well.
Golden Wings backpack and glider combo in particular. I would really like several chances to get these – not always possible when this is the time many people go away on holiday.
1. A cape!
2. Capes!
3. More capes!
4. Please take the venom traits out of the thief Shadow Arts line and put them in the Deadly Arts line which was created for poisons. Venom is poison and it does not make sense for them to be in the stealth trait line.

I agree also – the random venom trait in shadow arts does not make sense.
Phoenix wings backpack skin to be sold as a combo with the phoenix wings glider. Those wings look incredible.
Could be fun to have the flying carpet and magic broom as gliders too!
Class: Thief
Skill: Ricochet.
Bullets ricochet onto multiple targets. For reasons unknown to me this skill was removed but still remains my favourite thief skill – when used with Shadowshot, this was the thief’s coolest move.
Skill: Shadow Assail
If we cannot get Ricochet back, then I suggest a new skill exactly like the previous Ricochet + Shadowshot combo with dagger/pistol. The thief shoots and shadowsteps to hit that target with his dagger/ sword, then shadowsteps to hit several more targets, one after the other as long as they are in range.
Skill: Shadow Assail (Alternate)
Another variation on the above but without the pistol shot. The thief shadowsteps to an opponent and strikes them with his dagger/ sword/ staff, then shadowsteps to other opponents and strikes them one after the other if they are in range. If only a single target is in range, the thief shadowsteps all around them multiple times.
Skill: Vanish.
The thief remains in stealth indefinitely providing he does not move. Moving breaks stealth. To prevent this being overpowered, there could be a long cast time easily interrupted, so you can only use it when not being attacked and if another player sees you doing this, they can attack your position knowing you cannot move.
Class: Revanant.
New Weapon: Greatsword.

The expansion, just like the Core game, is much more than just the HoT storyline. One can not disregard content included in a purchase price, just because one dislikes it. It is still content, as games such as MMOs must cater to a wide variety of content and potential players.
And, don’t forget, there is more ‘storyline’ dropping next week, and every 2 to 3 months after. All part of the purchase price of HoT.
Even if I did absolutely everything HoT has to offer I would still not get more than a month out of it. We are still talking about the price – the core game was released with 8 classes, dozens of maps and thousands of hours of playtime. The expansion was released at the same price, yet only has one class, a few maps and a negliable fraction of the playtime. Plus, if Living World 3 is anything like the first season, then episodes will be over in a matter of hours. I still see no reason to buy HoT when it is priced so disproportionately.

and im saying that £35 an expansion averages out at less than £3 a month in total versus any other mmo out there – its great value. this is not a single player game, its a mmorpg, very different model, and the expansion is not built in isolation. Many like Hot and think its value for money, and since Anet are sticking with the model, evidently the statistics bear this out.
If you want a true valuation, calculate number of hours played/£ per month.
I get where you are coming from but the £3 a month figure would only work if it took you a year to complete the storyline of HOT. Having already finished the storyline of the core game, I expect I would not get more than a month out of the expansion so it would be £35 for one month. Just because other MMOs charge even more with monthly fees etc does not and should not make this value for money in comparison – subscription MMOs are extortionate IMO. If you are getting a year of play out of it then good on you but I for one am not enticed by a new class so have only a few maps and a storyline to get out of it.

Clearly £3.00 is far cheaper than any other AAA MMORPG out there so the root cause of you post is not the cost, its actually your dislike of HOT in the guise of a price complaint, in which case you wouldnt buy it – so whats the problem?
You misunderstand- I do not dislike HOT and I really enjoyed GW2. What I am saying is that £35 is too much to charge for a small expansion which adds very little extra to the core game. By charging this much, Anet are losing out on having the majority of their seven million users buy it. The content in HOT is not worth the price of a full game and they would make far more money overall if it was reasonably priced as there are millions out there who would gladly pay an extra £10 or so for the extra content. They would still make tens of millions from the sales – more than enough for a years work and plenty to keep the servers running until their next expansion. Why would most people pay £35 for 1% of the game when the other 99% is free? The lack of sales figures shows it is not selling as expected.
Buy every other GW2 XPac. Since they plan to bundle core and the older XPac into the next one, you could get two for the price of one. Or buy Hot from an authorized retailer offering a box at a discount. That’s one advantage of coming late to the party.
That is a very good idea and something I may do. I will see what the next one has to offer and decide then!

I’m super late to the party but here are my thoughts! I bought this game years ago and thought I’d get back into it as they have the expansion.. until I saw that the devs are saying the £35 price tag is for the expansion alone!
In what world is £35 an acceptable price for an expansion with so little content? I would have paid £10 max for this, as I have already sunk £30 into the core game. Having no cheap upgrade option has put me off indefinitely. What’s more is Anet have said each future expansion will be similarly priced, so if I wanted the first two expansions I would end up paying £30 core game, £35 expansion 1, £35-40 expansion 2 or over £100. This shouldn’t be acceptable just because it is an MMO- thousands of other games offer the same amount of playtime.
Sorry Anet but I’m taking this extra £70 and using on games which are several generations ahead of GW2, which will keep me busy for hundreds more hours.
the only actual real problem i see with the thief if the insane amount of mobility + master of stealth + the insane amount of regen a thief can get while STILL going full berszerker. 500 health a second while in stealth while clearing conditions is pretty overpowered, by a long shot. not to mention they can reset fights at the flick of a wrist, go from 20% hp to 100% hp after some cheesy stealth healing, and still pump out 10k cnd+backstab combos. (not to mention heartseeker). if you are still defending this class after this reply, you do not have brain.
What do you suggest? Get rid of stealth, destroy a thief’s mobility and make them the weakest class? If that was the case a thief would no longer be a thief- it would create a new class. And yes, I will still defend this class after your reply because your reply is totally inaccurate and exaggerated. It is impossible to reach 500 hp regeneration, clearing conditions is limited to 1 every 3 seconds (while every class has an additional condition remover) and the low base health of most thieves is the reason for high percentage health gain. Futhermore, most classes can pump out 10k damage after a few hits. It’s not difficult.
In addition, if you have to resort to insults to get your point across about a computer game then you are either 12 years old or there is something wrong with you.
Stealth does not need to be fixed. What needs to be fixed is all your gear! Seriously, the only reason I get my kitten kicked so much as a thief is because so many people are running around wvw with legendary weapons and gear worth dozens of gold. If my (and your) stuff had stats as high as everyone else’s (like PvP) no one would complain. Besides, is it really so hard to see a ring of black powder on the ground and run to it, knowing the thief will be in that spot for several seconds? Even after that the stealth lasts an extra 2 seconds, leaving no time to run away as you have to top up stealth again.
It’s hard enough as a thief as it is. If stealth gets ‘fixed’ I would delete the game in despair
I always use double pistols! I find they are great for both PvE and PvP – the third slot skill unloads 8 shots in quick succession which can do 4-5K damage each time with a few stacks of might and a good critical chance score. By the time you’ve used all your initiative the opponent is pretty much down or has blown their heal. If you tried that with a bow you’d be there all day trying to do that much damage. Plus, it is SO much easier shooting at things than playing cat and mouse with a pair of daggers.
@Lucky Shot
Definitely wasn’t Thieves Guild – I had dagger storm in the elite slot and the clones had my character name and appearance.
Yep, I just saw the wiki says mirror blade cannot be reflected. Perhaps it was a reflect able mesmer skill that did this – If I stepped in a reflect missiles bubble temporarily. It happened too quickly for me to remember. If an enemy casts the reflect missile bubble, will it block their own attacks if I am inside instead of them?
I’m wondering if any other thieves have done this: I jumped into fight 3 players in pvp + a couple of pets and somehow stole a skill off a mesmer to create 2 clones of myself. No one knew which was the original and the clones had high health. Was this a bug and if not, any idea how I did it/ how to replicate it?
