As a guy who has a ele and druid, i can say that druids 3 healing skill can burst heal as much as a ele using ALL its healing skills and traits. And druid has more than 8 healing skill.
Sure, you can camp water, use food, get appropriate stats and heal your team for a decent amount with ele, but a druid will always outheal your healing and will give up to %35 damage bonus to 5 members of your team. So no, never go healele, unless your team specifically requires condi cleanse, which is something that druid can do as well but ele does it slightly more easily.(a skilled druid with communications with his/her team will cleanse better than the ele though, as it has more condi clear capacity)
Healing with ele would be best done with staff, you will heal more than 650 hp per autoattack. Skill 3-5 would be used when more healing is required, skill 5 being used to cleanse condis would be better. Utilities, heal and elite skill should be all shouts except eye of the storm. Auras would heal for 800-1100, and traited water heal would heal about 200-300 per second.
I’ll let someone else to do the druids numbers. Because honestly, druid heals more than 7k with a single skill, and i dont want to do THAT much math…

Ele, in PvP, is now worse than ever. In this season, thiefs and eles are usually asked to reroll for something more useful, and who can blame those people who ask for it ? Ele IS out of this PvP season. Just ask yourself, how many eles have you seen in sPvP or WvW Roaming?its almost been a month, people who said “go experiment and you’ll find a meta build” are long gone. In this state, it is sure that the ele’s will get buffed sooner or later.
There will be buffs, thats for sure. Since ele still performs good enough with staff at raids, and no one in their right mind would bring a staff to PvP(unless wvw zerg), we can assume that staff will be untouched.
Offhand dagger is pretty outdated, with cooldowns that are 30-40 seconds. Water 4 skill and earth 5 may change, with long cooldown reduces on the rest of the skills.
Scepter is sort of fine at the moment, we might expect another shatterstone or flamestrike buff. Oneshotting people with those never gets old.
Focus is perfectly fine in my opinion, but we might get a tiny cooldown reduction on some skills.
For PvE, we might get a small warhorn buff. D/W has inferior damage compared to Staff and its melee so its more risky to use D/W, so it would make sense.
Traitwise, i can’t come up with an idea. But they might add fresh air kind of trait to all elements. Something like “blind/immobilize a target to reduce earth cooldown to zero, chill/condiclear to water, burn to fire” sort of traits. If offhand dagger gets buffed however, we all know which traits would be buffed.

S/F Marauder Ele:
Can kill Rangers.
Can kill Thieves.
Can kill Revs if rev is less skilled than you.
Can kill Condi Warriors(if warr has sword, warr always wins due to more condi pressure)
Can kill Mesmers if mesmer is less skilled than you.
Every other class and build pretty much roflstomps you unless Ele is 5 times more skilled than its opponent

There’s always a lot of people doing fractals at any time of the day, be it 5pm or 5 am. Dungeons, however, are a different story. No one does dungeons anymore unless they need some specific items that can be bought with their currency. Dungeons are abandoned. So we need to find ways to revive them, to make them more populated like fractals.
My suggestion would be adding dungeon dailies. "do CoF p2, CoE p1 and Manor p3 and get some reward chests that may reward you with ascended crafting materials(of course the changes would be pretty low). Adding dailies to dungeons can not go wrong.
Another suggestion would be a difficulty scale. I dont know how this can be executed, but dungeons are pretty easy now imho, everyone can breeze through it with a non-beta build, not like master fractals.

Thats why i roam in WvW instead of sPvP. If i lose a fight, its virtually only my fault.
every class is viable in fractals as long as you know what you’re doing
In PvE, everything is viable, but in raids Thieves, Guards and Engineers are not meta atm. Sure some groups are using them, but its pretty common for a raid group not to deploy these classes.
Dont know much about sPvP, but ele’s are now at the bottom with the removal of Cleric Amulet, which was the backbone of the only viable ele build, which was bunker ele. Guard has taken over the bunker mostly, some claim that guard is op while some claim that guard is nothing but a low rank stomper and can be countered by a skilled ranged profession, heard ranger/rev does him good, dunno.(someone from anet said that guards LACK sustain, “OP DH” argument is getting pretty weird atm). Engi-Necro combo with a revenant in sPvP was used by literally all pro players. Thiefs and Eles are the least used proffs in sPvP, people will often ask you to reroll. Engi got nerfed, but still tanky if you choose it to be. Ranger is pretty solid for sPvP, as with rev. For me, warr is ok but as i said, dont know much about sPvP
For WvW, ele isnt THAT bottom tier since you can easily grab cleric(or other sPvP restricted gear) and roam around, but its still not that good, imho, ele is only good in the zerk. Rev is good at roaming and beast at zerk(cause of boonshare and 1 minute quickness stacking thats been going around) ranger is tolerated in WvW zerk afaik, but pretty solid at 1v1 and general, same with warrs.
Yeah, dredge final boss is a bit weird when it comes to interrupting its healing. For ele, Warhorn Cyclone interrupts it while staff Gust does not.
Guardians are still not the wanted guys’n gals in raids, unless the group is not a hardcore meta fan.
Once the “boon thieves” is fixed, guardians will be actually powerful in fractals.
They are pretty good at dungeons.
You can open world pve with pretty much everything
Im currently running marauder s/f Air-Earth-Arcane, with diamond skin and arcane skill cooldown reduction, double arcane shield and arcane blast. It has average survivability, good-ish burst. Been thinking about switching to Celestial-D/F to see how it works. Any advice from the people who use Cele is appreciated.
Also, share your own WvW builds! I, as with other roamers like me, would love to see some new and creative WvW builds. Im sure a lot of Ele roamers have different builds since we have no meta atm.
If you really want to waste money on the infusions, go for power. In a proper squad with the proper buffs, zerk staff ele comes very close to the crit cap, you do not need any additional precision, just use the fire signet and its ok.
After pondering on how to use my lvl 80 boost, i decided to use it for a Guardian. I am interested in all gamemodes except sPvP. For raids i have other classes and Guardian will be pretty good once they fix the high lvl fractal “boon thieves”. But i also want to know about WvW. It doesnt really matter what class you’re playing when you’re in zerk, so i want to know more about its roaming.
How does guardian fare in WvW Solo roaming ? Is it ok, OP, struggling?
