Hello there!
I think there’s an issue with the game that requires attention and may not have been brought up many times: camera height is set too low behind the character by default.
Note, I’m not talking about camera angles or distance, rather than the height of the central point the camera is being placed at behind the character.
In most games utilizing third-person view, the camera is set higher above character’s central point, so when the player moves without adjusting camera view, he’s able to see far ahead of itself instead of looking down to the ground. In GW2, because of the low height point, by default, half of the screen is just the ground itself.
This is not only inconvenient and looks rather odd, to many players it could give nausea and could cause dizziness, because the ground covers up half of the screen, so when the character’s moving around, half of the screen is rapidly moving compared to the distant objects. Similar to what we can experience in real life during car (or any vehicle) travels if we keep our focus on a very close target, for example the lines on the road.
I’ve attached an artisticly superb drawing of the issue, while it’s not a masterpiece, it does show what should be changed or at least should have an option to select different heights.
Hope it’s understandable enough, I think I’m not the only one noticing this, there were rather long discussions of badly selected camera heights in different games already in the past (for example, Kindom of Amalur, etc), I think devs of GW2 should get their attention on this as well.
