Knights of the Temple [KnT] is a Blackgate WvW guild looking for active NA players. We run three scheduled raid nights per week (+ one optional). We need members who are team players and open to learning and growing together as a guild.

Who We Are
We are a semi-hardcore NA guild seeking like-minded, skilled, WvW players looking to have a great time playing competitive WvW together.
[KnT] is a very team oriented WvW guild and we expect the same out of our members. Our raids are a blend of pushing for fights and generating PPT for our server.

Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking new members who are great team players and willing to put the good of the group and the server above themselves. Players who are willing to run the necessary class or build to maximize our performance as a group on the battlefield. Anyone who enjoys a mix of both fights and PPT. Does this mean we are super serious guild 24/7? Of course not! Players who know how to have a bit of fun will fit right in with our membership.

What Else Should You Know?
While we do promise fun, please be aware we are an 18+ guild with a mature sense of humor. With that in mind, please be aware that we do not tolerate harassment or bullying of any kind among members. In other words, don’t be a kitten.
While [KnT] realizes and understands that WvW is not the only game mode our members enjoy, we are primarily a WvW focused guild. If online, members are expected to attend scheduled raid nights. However, we plan to maintain a three nights per week raid schedule and encourage our members to enjoy other game modes or follow other WvW guilds on our nights off. If our 3 scheduled raid nights aren’t enough to quench your bloodlust then join us for our optional raid, held most Saturday nights.

I agree! Surprised this wasn’t fixed before the alpine maps were brought back!

Update: after another 3 hours of waiting and begging with other players in the zone we finally got the shaman event to complete on my map. I participated in the kill the hunters event, the owl purification event, and the killing the totem. Guess what?! I didn’t get credit for the Nevermore collection! I am not waiting another 3 days for this on the off chance I might get credit next time. Anet please, this is terrible.

So I am on day three now of camping out at the owl’s abbatoir in Snowden Drifts waiting for the “Stop the Shaman” event to fail so that I can have a shot at completing the event that follows and earn the friend of the owl spirit trophy.

I tried writing to Anet Support staff (3 times) was told that this collection item is working as intended, there was nothing they could do, and if I was unhappy I should voice my opinions in the forums. So here I am.

Oh, was also told I should try playing at a later hour when there are fewer people on the map. Yesterday I was in Snowden drifts from 10:30 am til 1 am at night my time. How much later am I expected to play here? Did the developers really intend for players to camp this spot 24/7 on the off chance of a failure?

I’ve never seen the Shaman make it more than halfway to the totem site before someone comes along and kills him. Usually lower level players, out leveling, this is a low level zone after all. Sometimes trolls show up. The same person would show up and kill the shaman yesterday every time it spawned for 4 hours straight yesterday.

I’ve tried relogging, hoping to get into other map instances. Rarely works and even when it does it’s always the same result.

Is this really how Anet intended this collection to be? Seems like less of a legendary journey and more a legendary frustration. I have everything needed for nevermore except this collection. It’s very disheartening to see the event mob I need to live killed over and over again. I’ve also seen it creating a lot of hostility between players trying to level here and players like myself trying to complete Nevermore.

So for as long as I can remember my average ping running around a pve map has been in the 60-80 range (this is the in-game ping displayed in the options menu). Lately I have had more and more days where just sitting in a map like the grove doing nothing results in a ping that’s in the 200-300 range. WvW becomes pretty much unplayable on these days. Running around EBG during fights can result in a ping of over 2,000! I can’t figure out what’s causing this. Using pingtest.net results in nice low ping times for other servers located in the Dallas area (where Anet’s game servers are located, correct me if I’m wrong on that). Using the command prompt in windows I ran a tracert on the ip address I got from doing /ip while sitting in the grove. I’m not very good at reading these things so I was wondering if anyone else saw anything here that could explain my high ping? When this particular test was run my in game ping was showing close to 300.

I just wanted to say that your post gave me chills as I was reading it. I too am in my early 20’s and have been diagnosed with a permanent condition which causes chronic pain and makes it hard for me to do things that healthy people can. I definitely know what it feels like to be told I’m too young to be in this much pain.

Ever since I learned of Taimi’s condition I’ve felt a strong sense of identification with her character. She’s perfectly competent and just as good as any other asuran, but limited by her body. It’s something I struggle with every day.

Also, maybe there’s something to your theory about your reasons for playing an ele
I too play an ele and often imagine what it would be like to move and run as she does without the intense pain. It’s certainly a form of escape for me too.

So I wanted to thank you for sharing your story. It’s so comforting to know there are others who feel the same way.

I’ve been struggling so much with Suriel – I get the whole buff/aoe stuff, but she tends to hit me too much regardless of buff or not. Any tips?

I had no problem on suriel using a bunker build of 0/10/0/30/30 and using double daggers. I just stayed in or around the pools of darkness, let her come to me and dps’d her down once she got close. Between evasive arcana and my other heals I had plenty of regen for her.

I’m hoping maybe someone who’s done the gauntlet past this point can help me out. I didn’t have a ton of trouble on the fights leading up to this point but I’ve wasted probably close to 15-20 attempts ankitten o closer to beating it. I’ve tried all the weapon combinations, tried mixes of different gear, etc.

I know the trick here is to eat the meat hunks before the dog does, but how does one do that exactly? None of my cc’s seem to last long enough to slow the dog down for very long and most of the targetable ones have lengthy cooldowns. I have a pretty hard time just telling when and where strugar throws the meat in the first place. Maybe there’s a tell I’m missing but as far as I can see his wind up to throw the meat isn’t that different from his attacks.

Any advice?
