[Suggestion] PvE Leagues

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Generally, when looking for experienced people on LFG system, one can’t tell how experienced his party mates actually are until they screw something up. Of course there are gear checks, AP checks, Dungeon Master title checks, AP checks etc., but i’m sure you would agree that they are just inconvinient and unreliable. In my opinion, some sort of rating system similiar to PvP leagues would solve the problem and help to improve matchmaking process in PvE.

There’s simple framework. Each player has an associated rating for each section of group content (each dungeon and fractals tier). All ratings degrade on daily basis down to 0. If said player manages to successfully complete some group content (e.g. a path in a dungeon), his corresponding rating increases.

Now, some details to speed up progression in the system:
1. By doing group content player acquires common sense, so it would be reasonable to simultaneously rise all the ratings up to some level;
2. Players should be able to (or even forced to) grant each other additional portions of rating via recommendations (each player can grant one recommendation after group content is completed);
3. Amount of rating gained upon completion of group content can be defined by time spent on it;
4. There also should be a room for individual evaluation, similiar to that in sPvP matches (amount of damage\healing dealt, conditions applied, etc.). Based on that evaluation, bonus rating is allocated to the player;
5. Finally, ratings are divided into leagues and leagues can be selected when making LFG post. Only same or lower leagues can be selected at this time. Only players with same or higher league can join the party.

And that’s that. #puglife

New Map Reward System?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I hope you didn’t expect something special for doing map events, because that would indeed be a first for GW2…. If you look at the ‘rewards’ for some collections, it’s rather bland and uninspiring. I wouldn’t expect anything more or better from map events at this point.

I didn’t expect anything, really. I’m just anxious to see how these rewards and new way to earn a prec would reflect on market in general and on lodestones prices in particular. To sell or not to sell, so to speak. Maybe there’s already a thread to discuss this?

New Map Reward System?

Tried this at Cursed Shore. Due to those.. noticeability issues can’t say anything with confidence, but i believe it takes 2 events to get reward there. There was rewards rotation and it was ancient bone > ancient bone > charged core > ancient bone (after that i finished my testing).

All in all, rewards are rather limp, system itself is nice, but calls for some clarification.

Think i’ll make me a revenant and go abuse some event chains to see how those map rewards are balanced.

Pre-purchased ultimate edition, so i guess my standing here is clear.

To me it seems like all the problems are caused by bad marketing and content delivery.

Fractals kicking needs to be sorted

It was from 6 in the afternoon till I believe 3-4ish sometime in the morning, and I didn’t just do fracts in that time. There was smooth runs for fractal 50 for me. I’m not the best player and majority of the player base isn’t so 45 min was good in my eyes.

Which would make it 9 – 10 hours, so either you gave a wrong number of runs or greatly overestimated the minimum run time. At 10 hours and 18 runs total the average run time is ~33 minutes, easily in the realm of possibility, but it does not include looking for a group (especially in the middle of the night) nor anything else you did. So I’m doubting you even more now.

Jeez, whats wrong with people here? Fella brought a problem to your attention and you are discussing how probable is the case. Why would he make things up anyway? To get your pity, lol?

On the topic, it would be reasonable to block kicking at some point, after first fract for example. This wont affect normal parties and prevent abusing, likely.

Then again, i dont even recall when i got kicked from fractal party myself.

To all those 50 AR Fractal runners out there who have not yet run a PUG, please consider it for the dailies. Learning groups fill fast, they’re easy and you may win some converts to fill your higher level Fractals in the future.

Fun fact: ‘50 AR Fractal runners’ actually condemn fractal daily for all the new guys who stumble in. You can see those ragings in the threads nearby.

Personally, i support your encouragements. Its an MMO after all, the more the merrier.

You can enter it while its closed. Search and you will find

You mean that jumping routine? Last time it took about as long as completing event chain.

It would be nice to have such thing for running multiple paths in a row.
In particular, i’m talking about Coil of Eternity dungeon. Imagine the following: you and your merry comrades capture the facility, complete a path and then it’s closed again because horde of players moved in for world boss raid and your party ended up on a new map.

While it’s not that long to complete assault events – like 30 min or so – it’s long enough for some fellows to drop. Not to mention that event chain bugs out occasionally and there’s no guarantees you won’t have to complete event chain 2 more times to run all 3 paths.

Therefore, it would really save some time and nerve if there is a way to enter another instance of a dungeon without exiting it.
