[Spoilers] Story quality way too low

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

I’d agree the story wasn’t too well paced, and was overall of low quality. I’m not mad about it, but some points just boggle my mind.
What was the point of killing off Eir? How did this serve to advance anything? Did she just draw the short end of the lot or what? I guess Braham became more docile? But was that really needed?
The part about discovering the dragons’ weakness. Again, a huge kitten -pull at the worst of times. Why couldn’t this have been discovered at Rata Novus by Taimi or Canach? Instead of the incredibly convenient extremely mentally exhausted Traherne? I get him dying – he was a huge part of The Pact, of Tyria’s fight against the dragons, a symbol, and above all – a sylvari, created originally to serve Mordremom, but again, why the kitten -pull weakness knowledge at that exact moment?
And finally Caithe – what the actual kitten? This was just so brushed over I don’t think anyone though about this part harder than an hour at most. So it was her wyld hunt, the way she betrayed us, her sneaking about everywhere, and finally you decide to 1) deny her her wyld hunt without shaking her emotions at all? 2) Make the player threaten her with “another one of these and I’ll put a sword through you” and then we’re back to being BFFs? She just wasn’t in the story and then suddenly is in every instance of it just like that?

A lot could have been made better simply by dividing the parts better.

It’s only for SW for me. Other zones (LA, Rata Sum, etc.) seem OK. But I can’t even log into Silverwastes.

Charr vs Human guardian

When in doubt always roll human female.

Also: human male empower animation looks like him taking a poop in the middle of woods. Just to put that thought in your head.

Rank what class you take in dungeon

in Profession Balance

My ranking for dungeons:
1) Elementalist – might stacking, DPS, utilities – all superb
2) Warrior – core in every party, even if just for banners, respectable DPS
3) Guardian – blinds, aegis, protection, stability, reflects – boons in 1 word
4) Engineer – Solo stacks 20/25 vuln. decent DPS, might stacker. Excellent Allrounder
5-6) Ranger – rarely played well, but IF played well, respectable class DPS and buff wise.
5-6) Thief – some vulnerability stacking, Best DPS, very little party utility.
7) Mesmer – for PvE content jack-of-all trades, master of none. Subpar DPS, good ultimate, reflect bot. If you need reflects, bring a guard.
8) Necromancer – not a party player.

Just so you know, I don’t much care with which professions I run my PUGs. All that I ask is for them to know where to stack / what to do in a dungeon. If they don’t – ask us/me, or copy what the others are doing.

Obviously, for an ideal 5-man party I’d take:
1. Elementalist (1)
2. Warrior (1)
3. Engineer
4. Guardian /Thief
5. Ele (2) / War (2)

Guardian Videos - High DPS WVW

From Booms post and video number 1 I tried to reverse engineer his build. The closest I could come to his stats was this build:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fVUQJASRn0HShQ2KEmDB/QqgfoyxmqCAsnhd4PvMGyRA-T1CBAB7pL4SVRw4BAE9+DcqGxoqMglyDAuEAZpEjRlgMcEAIFArKjA-w

he gets 250 power from bloodlust stacks I presume. Higher numbers than in the video probably result from me inputting all gear as ascended while him having a few exotics still. Only stat I cannot see in the video is the # of condition damage. Might have to do with a celestial piece of gear. You can hit his “2219” vitality by subbing something for an additonal 1 or 2 Sentinel pieces.

Anyway, it looks like a very solid build. A very well-rounded one, but focusing more on physical damage rather than burning. Hence why this would be better than a celestial build one.

[Suggestions] Gemstore Items

I’d love to see the Phantom Hood back again, especially since there’s a sale on halloween items going on right now
I’d also like a modified gas mask
and Ghastly Grinning Shield just to screw over the people on the TP selling them for 2k+ gold.

My opinion of Orr: why I haven't been logging in

I personally didn’t have much trouble with Orr solo as an elementalist. Granted, some skill point challenges were pants-on-head kitten but aside from that it’s not that bad.

Things I agree on:
Respawn rate, in general. Lower it. Globally. It’s kitten mobs respawn on top of my head when I’m not even done clearing a 5-mob room.

Why does every mob, and I mean EVERY mob, have a cripple AND can catch up to me no matter what IMS I use and how much of it I stack?

Contested waypoints are indeed a waste. Due to the stupid speed of respawning, it’s no wonder you can’t ever have them non contested…

Overall I go to Orr like everyone to event chain farm and MF the events =/ sometimes gather.
It’s not hard, it’s more like tedious than anything really.

Your level, class, and happiness rating 1-10

Lv 80 Elementalist – 7/10 PvE, 9/10 WvW, 5/10 sPvP
Lv 50 Ranger – 9/10 PvE
lv 20 Thief – 9/10 PvE
lv 25 Warrior – 4/10 (I just don’t feel the class play style at all)

others, various levels under 20:
necro – 6.5/10 (bugs andkitten minion AI)
guardian – 5/10 (play style a bit better than warrior, but still not my thing)
mesmer – 8.5/10 (slower in pve than other classes, but a lot of fun)
engineer – 8/10 (cool concept but somewhat confused as a class whole, no weapon swap is hurting it IMO, and counter-intuitive rifle abilities)

Game satisfaction: 8.5/10 why?
Pros: Very fun, addicting, WvW fun, all exotics share the same stats so you can choose your grind, beautiful big world, great race diversity
Cons: Champion Events turn into a zergfest where you usually stand and autoattack, underwater fights often bugged (creatures go immune + heal up to full), crafting is a grind to 400 and takes insane amounts of resources, personal story becomes Traherne’s story at one point.
