Yes.

Myself and my friends and family haven’t had a very good track record with support tickets. Literally every single time we have had to come here in the end even though support SHOULD have helped us easily on first contact instead of stubbornly telling us the same copy-paste lines over and over.

So this time I decided to jump over here early and try to get an actual human response relating to MY case, not the hundreds of others wherein the person did something by mistake.

My mail is completely empty. Zero out of 10.

My percent of account luck is 17% right now because of clearing out spare items in my inventory that I salvaged.

It’s pretty abundantly clear that I never got this in-game mail. It’s pretty annoying too, since my ONLY 100% complete exotic armor set WAS full magic find. All my time/gold just got completely sunk.

Support did respond to me and sent me an automated-sounding mail that made it seem like they thought I wanted a replacement armor set, which wasn’t what I asked for. They said "As a general rule, we are not able to replace items after their new stat set has been chosen, as is the case with the item or items that you have requested. "

I never got any item. I hardly consider that a replacement. I am fine with the choice I made with my armor. I never got the in-game mail item that literally everyone else has gotten. I can understand them denying me a replacement armor set if I chose the wrong stats, but this wasn’t my error. Their system didn’t deliver an item to be that. . . from everywhere I have looked. . . I should have because my account is from LAUNCH (aka, before SAB: Back to School).

I logged in today after a vacation and I never got the Legendary Essence of Luck in-game mail.

I have been a player since launch, and I read that all accounts that were created prior to SAB: Back to School were supposed to get this mail. The Wiki states that there were supposed to be 5 legendary essences of luck in my mail, and it should have increased by bar by 500? (Not sure if this is PER Essence or altogether, but it reads like it should be EACH) My bar is currently sitting at a whopping total of 60.

I created a support ticket and got no help.

Am I just out of luck. . . literally and figuratively?

She hasn’t had time to respond today but she still does not have access to her account.

Something about authorization or verification.

I wonder if maybe her change in IP is locking her out and she isn’t getting the verification emails. This whole issue DID start after she moved houses.

She says she is going to try looking at it later and responding to the ticket. I am going to make sure I oversee it this time since I am actually in town to do so.

She says she never got the serial code. I made an assumption in my first post. Upon asking for clarification she says it was never given to her via email. Her trash folder gets emptied automatically, so after two months it’s likely gone if it WAS deleted. However, her Secret World and Star Wars serials are both there. . . so. . . i doubt she would have deleted it on accident. She’s not dumb, she WOULD have saved the serial in her email if she had gotten it.

She has been doing support tickets for over two months now. Every link they have sent her. . . hasn’t helped her. Either the link 404’s and doesn’t exist, or flat out doesn’t resolve her problem.

She has given them the BANK STATEMENT with the last 4 digits of her card showing and it matches the card used to buy the game. That alone should be more than enough proof that she owns the game and should have access to her account.

She never logged into the forums or accessed her account through her browser, and even if she did. . . they have sent her so many links with new passwords and emails that it has probably been overwritten.

Right now its telling her that her account doesn’t even exist. When she linked her accounts, something went wrong.

To clarify, she lost her account information for logging in during her move.

She was NEVER emailed a serial code. (Or if she was, her email dumped it as spam.)

Over two months of customer support tickets and she still doesn’t have access to the game she paid for.

Right now after she was told to link her GW1 and GW2 accounts. . . logging in with her GW2 information nets her a “account not valid” or “does not exist” message, and trying to log in with her GW1 information tells her that the accounts are not linked. . . even though she went through the process of linking them and had a “success!” page come up for linking.

Please help!

My sister bought this game to play with me a while back. I recently asked her why she never did log back in after playing with me for a few hours one afternoon. . . it turns out after she had more time to play after some business trips away from home. . . she wasn’t able to access her account and STILL doesn’t have access. Its been more than a MONTH of using the customer service tickets and she has pretty much given up.

She barely had time to play the game, (Less than 12 hours total I would say) and did so whilst also trying out Star Wars and Secret World, so she didn’t really know any character names. She didn’t have any serial code because she had deleted the email, but she DOES have copies of her bank record showing she was charged 40 bucks for the game, as well as 10 bucks for some stupid user guide that she didn’t ask for, want, OR need. She bought it during the 40 buck sale before the price drop down to 50 bucks.

Literally EVERY link that has been sent to her. . . hasn’t helped. She paid for the game, was charged for the game, and then got busy with work and moving homes and didn’t have time to play much for a bit. Now that she does have time. . . she is spending it all on trying to get her account back.

Her ticket number is 130728-001752.

Is there ANYTHING anyone here can do to fix this? Is there any hotline customer service that she can call or something to speed up this process and not JUST do back and forth pointless emails? Literally every email that has been sent has provided a link that doesn’t work.

I would like to play with my sister. We live really far apart and dont get to see each other much. I really looked forward to playing this with her and now its looking like I am never going to get to. She is really bitter and says this has pretty much killed Guild Wars 2 for her.

In her words, “They have pretty much stolen my money. I was charged for things I wanted and haven’t been able to use. I was charged for a thing that wasn’t listed ANYWHERE not even in the fine print, and I didn’t want to begin with. . . and over all my experience with Arenanet. . . pretty terrible.” Her JOB is working behind the scenes on the computer with user accounts in her company so she knows there really is no reason for her account to, as she puts it “practically require my DNA to unlock it.”

Please someone help!

I just got up and back from my duties for today and checked my email. My gems have indeed been refunded.

Thank you kindly for resolving this. It really did seem quite sketchy that others have received a refund on this and I was not.

I really do hope that measures ARE put in place for Gem store items like this. They shouldn’t be purchasable if they cant be used, or they should not appear in the store at all for those that can’t get use out of them.

Hopefully a GM here on the forums will be able to escalate it or something. I don’t want to open another ticket, and honestly I don’t want to be wasting more employee’s time. But it feels unfair to not get a refund when others have. I would at LEAST like to know what makes my case so different that it doesn’t deserve a refund, as I was told that in MY specific case (compared to others I was able to dig up and link to) did not grant me eligible for a refund.

It seems like a really sketchy way to weasel money/time out of players, to be honest. Even lower-scale free to play MMOs have cash shops that prevent you from buying things you cant use. Guild Wars 2 is supposed to be competing with the higher-end MMOs like WOW and this is a blatant disrespect to the players right at interface level. The fact that customer support is trained to say “no refunds, sorry. be more careful next time.” is INCREDIBLY bad taste.

This is like buying tires for you car and having them hand you tiny plastic Lego wheels instead, or buying a DVD or Bluray without anything in the case when you open it. You can’t do anything with it. The false sale should have measures put in place to prevent it from happening, or at LEAST customer support that does what the title IMPLIES.

Refunds on things that haven’t been used (and ESPECIALLY on items that CANT be used) should be a no-brainer. Most retail stores LEGALLY HAVE give you your money back with the proof of purchase, but in this I can’t even get some in-store credit, and that’s ALL I am asking for.

It feels legally wrong. Just because its digital goods, the rules shouldn’t change. I feel entitled to my refund.

I am at maximum bank tabs. I can’t use the item, I cant trade the item. And apparently I can’t get a refund on the gems even though the purchase was an honest misunderstanding; a mistake.

I created a support ticket yesterday about bank tab refunds.

I have been told that, despite the item being buyable from the gem shop, yet UNUSABLE and NON-Tradeable. . . I cannot have a refund on this.

I bought this item from the store due to its wording. It said

“Bank Tab Expansion
Adds an extra bank tab for your account.
Each account can purchase up to 7 additional tabs including any previously purchased in game.

Consumable
Account bound"

To me, someone who had never noticed/seen this gem-shop item in the gem shop when I first bought bank space back in December. . . this meant I could get MORE bank space via the gem shop. I was pretty excited to see it and I bought it right away. I thought that “in game” referred to “at the bank” as opposed to “in the gem shop window”.

Now I am stuck with an item I cant use or trade. And support tickets are telling me no refunds.

I am really upset by this. These gems were a gift for my birthday and I would like to not have them wasted. Wether the mistake was mine or the poor wording or both is not part of the issue.

The issue is the apparent no-refunds policy on unusable items that can STILL BE PURCHASED despite being unusable. The item itself makes a check to see if you can use it, I do not see why the same variant of coding can’t be applied to the gem store when making a purchase. This is a poor display of the product to the customer and shoddy interface, and it is CLEARLY being used to gouge customers out of their well-earned time-based gold or work-based real money.

Is this REALLY the stance Guild Wars 2 is taking on this? If so, I am shocked. This doesn’t even really seem legal. I have my proof of purchase, I can provide screenshots of the item not being usable, I can even supply the code of the gem card I got the gems from, but I cannot get a refund.

I am extremely let down by this, and angry even.

Anet, I would like to see this policy of no-refunds for unusable items CHANGED, or the gem store altered. Preferably both. An accidental bag slot can be put on another character. An accidental character slot can be used for an alt. An accidental bank expansion will sit in my bank (which, incidentally, is the very thing I wanted to have more space. irony.) and gather dust until its either usable, tradeable, or I give up and just right click to destroy it.

I would like the item destroyed and my gems refunded. You already HAVE my money from the gem purchase. You get the money either way. I just want something I can use, that’s not so much to ask.

I only play SPvP with friends. After an hour neither of us were able to find a decent match just by picking servers at random. There needs to be a way to join LEGITIMATE matches with friends.

All yesterday afternoon I was unable to find a normal match where I was able to just join a server and play normal SPvP.

We joined half a dozen servers before we realized the implications of making these custom arenas, and how making them a PAY item. . . is going to truly ruin matchfinding.

Every server we picked out of the NON-custom arenas. . . was just a bunch of guildies pretending they had their own custom server and telling people to stay out of their business. . . or flat out not capping points and playing the game. Some of them were even hostile towards players who didn’t “follow their rules”.

What happens when the most active/populated PUBLIC servers are the ones being swamped by guilds who aren’t willing to pay for a custom arena? I am VERY worried that finding a NORMAL match is going to be impossible even AFTER this item is out for everyone to buy. Many people are simply just not going to pay per month to have their own space, so they will treat public space as their own.

I am worried that finding actual matches to join in with friends is going to remain a nightmare. I know my friend and I spent close to an hour before giving up and dropping our whole idea of enjoying some PvP. Neither of us were able to find servers ACTUALLY playing the game. I have a feeling that once the item is out to buy. . . we are going to see even more of this. Nobody wants to pay a tacked on price to access ONE feature of a game that should just have been free to everyone from the start.

Adding a price to custom arenas is going to add the time involved to ACTUALLY find a decent match to be in. People are just going to continue playing rule-maker in the public servers. I know those people can swap gold to gems, but the exchange rate is FAR too high all the time to make that even remotely viable. Please rethink this Anet! Paying for custom arenas is going to put the nail in the coffin for anyone just wanting to play the game by hopping into a match with a friend.

I want to be able to duel with my friends, but as it is beginning to look right now. . . it is going to cost me MONEY per month to do this via Custom Arenas.

I don’t have money to pay for GW2 per month for this feature.

Please add a way OUTSIDE of PvP that IS NOT custom arenas for friends to fight each other and test their skills. Paying for this feature by the month when even free to play MMOs offer it freely is ridiculous!

2H Battle Axe

Guardians and axes? This doesn’t fit at all. 2Hand Axe sounds like a 1 profession only weapon which would be a total waste.

Why? I can see a 2-handed axe in the hands of a warrior, ranger, or necromancer.

I would love to see 2-handed axes, myself.

Re: Scythes – didn’t I just see somebody in game with something that looked like a scythe? Or did I make that up??

I think there is a necro spell animation (or something similar) that adds the ‘scythe blade’ onto a staff as an effect.

There are a few staff spells that make your staff appear like a scythe, but the halloween Mad King event chest had a chance at THIS: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Scythe_Staff_Skin and it’s pure awesome. They aren’t account bound, but you are going to likely be saving the gold for it. They are currently between 75 and 80g.

They have hinted a few times as weapons being part of future expansions/updates. My guess would be expansion, since they would have to create several skins, a legendary version, profession skills, and all sorts of stuff in order to introduce a new weapon. Greataxes have already been said by Anet themselves to be ON that list of potential weapons. I don’t remember the exact question, but someone asked about the Scythe skin, and said they wanted a Greataxe skin for their hammer/greatsword. Arenanet responded (again, this is from memory from several months ago, but it stuck with me and blew my mind when I read it) with something like: “Why settle with just a skin? We think greataxes are awesome and we would love to have our characters using one! Weapons are definitely something for future additions to the game!”

Basic Control Issue

Your character does NOT pivot automatically UNLESS:
1- You are attacking a target.
2- You changed the camera to point in another direction and told your character to move or shift slightly.

When attacking a target, your character will pivot to face that target regardless of the mouse buttons being pressed or not. (This was not always true, in the first couple of betas you would have to let go of your mouse buttons to pivot in combat. This has since been changed. Of course if you are holding BOTH mouse buttons down, you will be running forward depending on where your mouse is aimed, you wont be pivoting.)

You CAN tell your character to pivot by NOT holding ANY mouse buttons and hitting A or D. If you remapped A and D in your WASD configuration to be strafe, then you should consider binding Q and E to be pivot. . . or just learn to hold down a mouse button when you want to strafe and don’t when you don’t.

This is an action oriented game, pivoting already happens automatically for combat. The only time you need to do so out of combat. . . you can learn to pivot easily by letting go of your mouse buttons. Nothing needs to be fixed with the controls.

I think we really need a feature that allows us to see how much we have complete of a zone WITHOUT zooming in super far or being already IN the zone. Also, being able to swap out party members stats would be REALLY helpful.

I can’t even COUNT the amount of times a friend and I have been sitting in Lions Arch trying to figure out what zone we should go to in order to get us BOTH the most map completion possible, and doing so is such a chore. I can see what points I need while I am in the zone, but I don’t want to pay gold to port to a zone just to figure out how many points I have there.

Give us an option to select a zone to show completion for when we open the map! Even better would be to let us see raw number stats of what party members have completed for the zone we are looking at too! This way it’s easier to figure out where to go next so everyone gets the most out of it!

I love this. Map notes! Its perfect. I loved map notes when I played a certain other mmo and got a map addon for it. It was as simple as rightclick and “add note” and you could select what kind of little marker you wanted it to have, and what color the marker should be! (Which was things like stars, circles, squares)

Having something like this, and then a little UI that lets you look through all your notes/bookmarks by name/zone would be really nice!

There seems to be a HIGH preference toward everyone just going to the zones that are closest to their favorite city for their daily.

I know the Krytan/Maguuman/Shiverpeaks killer sort of dailies are SUPPOSED to encourage players to go to new zones, but it isn’t working. Everyone piles into the starter or end zones. I personally rarely find other people in 30-70 zones unless there is some huge event about to spawn soon.

I saw this suggestion before (I don’t recall if it was here), but I think it bears saying again. Featured maps over a LARGER period of time is a MUCH better way at solving this problem. The map (or maps, you may want to do 2-4 depending on how long they are featured for) should be a “featured” map for a week at the least, and provide some sort of passive bonus for being there.

The bonus doesn’t have to be huge. It could be a slight bit more karma from events, maybe some bonus magic find. It should be something that will ENCOURAGE level-cap players to be in a zone with their 80 that has already HAS 100% map completion there. The biggest wanted things to MOST players I have found is Karma and rare drops, so bonus magic find or karma (or both!) seems like the best way to accomplish this.

The time frame and level of bonus needs to be very well selected. If you make the bonus too great, and the time too short, then you are going to have tons of players flooding 1-4 select zones, and players who don’t want to be in those zones for whatever reason feel left out of the bonus. Make the bonus too big and the time too long, then you have players tiring of the zone and wishing you would change it more frequently. Make the bonus too small and the time too short and nobody will even change the zones they prefer to go to for dailies and farming/questing because the zone will just be changing soon and it may or may not be one they feel like doing at the time, but the bonus isn’t enough to matter.

However if you make the bonus JUST good enough that high level players will WANT to be in those zones, but not feel like they HAVE to if they don’t want to, then what you have accomplished is more players using more of your game instead of creating dead zones.

Players should feel rewarded enough to be in the featured zone that they would take their 80’s there to grab karma or better loot chance, and be happy having an alternative to ONLY running their 80’s around in the high-level zones of the game, but not feel its something they are missing out TOO terribly on if they don’t want to. It should last long enough that players don’t feel like they should be on top of it EVERY day, and the rewards should stay CONSISTENT from featured map changes so that players aren’t all clogging a few select zones just because this week is the “super drop chance” week. It just should be there as a slight nudge to people who are looking for something to do, to do something a bit different that day, and to maybe stick around a little longer than it takes to complete a daily, because as it is right now. . . people hop in the low level zones and get their daily done in an hour or two and most of the other zones are barren.

This isn’t a game suggestion, but rather a website one. I would like the ability to see ACCURATE, direct from the server (maybe updated once a day or once a week) census information.

Currently the only thing anything LIKE this is GW2census.com and its far from accurate because it was posted before all the professions and races weren’t even revealed to the public, and people can say whatever they want on there, or not even own a copy of the game at all.

I would like to see options like comparing different levels vs professions. . . levels vs races. . . races vs professions and professions to races. Maybe add male/female comparisons as well. Basically I would like to see EXACTLY what gw2census allows us to see, but more narrowed down to actual hard facts of what characters ACTUALLY exist, on what servers (having the ability to filter several levels or servers would be very interesting.). If possible, it would even be interesting to see timeslots. Maybe more players who play Charr, do so during the night server-time? What percentage of those Charr playing at night are what profession? What gender are they? What level are they? What server are they from?

All of the information I would like to see is purely numbers-based, so it would NOT be anything privacy-intruding other than the server checking some stats every so often.

Having a nice, clean section of the website to go to that lets you check mark boxes and select what you want to compare and contrast against each other and having tons of options would be really cool. It would be really neat to have this publicly available. It might even spur some of the players who desire to create more uncommon characters to play professions or races they might not normally try because their particular server is lacking in them!
