Couldn’t they change the condition of the event every other time it spawns? So one time killing is good, then allowing to comp is good.

I don’t know how difficult that would be, but they have timers on other events so that would help both sides?

Why didn’t anyone tell us about this, and I wanna play on my tablet too!

Add this line at the bottom:
174.35.56.164 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com

You have to go to the properties and edit the permissions for yourself (must be logged in as an administrator). Give yourself full permission.

Then use open with (no need to change the file type) and choose notepad. You will be able to edit the file, save it and bam!

I seem to recall there being discussion on the Sylvari having seasonal changes – leaves turning colors and/or falling, flowering etc.

Did that get dropped, and can it return?

Sign me up – I love my minis, but the invisible bag route is cumbersome.

This has been good discussion both for and against! Perhaps the multiple guild option is there so an individual has a chance to find a guild that fits them. Otherwise you have to by design “bounce around” to try out various guilds.

There is also the fact that there are Role Playing Guilds, PVP only Guilds (along with those that say they are PVx, but really mean WvW and sPVP), I have heard of the formation of a cooking only guild, a dungeon only guild, etc. If you are not a perfect fit, but do have a good time in one, forcing exclusive rep turns it into you only being an influence battery — not a good feeling.

I hope that someone from Arenanet will weigh in on the reasons they chose this system, and their thoughts on its use for both individuals and guilds.

Not sure if you are aware LeahV but when you choose to represent a guild on one character you can go right ahead and represent another guild on another character. It does work and I would also advise against guilds that require exclusive representation. A guild needs to prove they want you as much as you want them.

I was aware of being able to rep differently on different characters, but this particular guild seems to require all chars all the time. I appreciate knowing that this attitude is not rampant among guilds. I have 3 RL friends and a RL sister in the guild, and we have been thinking about creating our own just so we won’t have the hassle.

I am on Darkhaven at the moment, but I will consider changing servers for a more flexible bunch.

One character per guild is not a multi-guild system. It’s the same system every other game has had (except GW1 which was account wide of course).

As a guild leader, I personally love the system as is. It forces the burden on the guild leadership to provide a place that players wish to represent. That means that guilds become more meaningful. Unfortunately, it does move into territory that forces some communication outside of the game (facebook group/page, twitter, forum, etc) but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

I like the way you think too! It seems to me that some guilds think it is up to the individual to measure up instead of the guild.

Thanks for your perspective! I do understand that I have the right to pick and choose my guild, and if exclusivity is a deal breaker, to move on.

I was really looking for a solution to the issue that would benefit both sides — such as individual guild membership. Perhaps someone will have other options that would address the problem with a viable solution.

I have noticed a number of guilds refuse to allow members to be members of other guilds, or if they do, require that representing only apply to your 1st guild choice. Of course guild 2 does not want to let you in unless you represent THEM!

It is a little irritating to me to limit my choices when the game was set up to allow this to happen. Stick with one, or lose any benefits to pursue another, effectively bouncing around to find a good fit.
