My personal story has been bugged ever since the first day of launch. I have submitted a ticket to support department regarding my personal story bug but the GM had told me to wait for the patch Request #1881530. The problem I encountered is that my main character’s personal story quest has been stuck on the Prologue “Gather at the rally point leading into the Maguuma Jungle” for a week now. I cannot see any Green Star Icon indicating where I’m suppose to go to which is supposed to be by the Amber Sandfall keep before you enter the starter area of Verdant Brink. I also tried quitting the story and restarting it but it doesn’t reset the progression so now I’m basically chasing after a task that doesn’t exist for my main character only.

Cannot see unclaimed loot window

Okay so usually when I have a full inventory and I open a chest or loot mobs a little unclaimed loot window pops up showing what loots the chest is giving me. However, as of last patch I’m unable to see the loot window. It only shows the message “Your inventory is full” but it doesn’t show what items I can loot from the chests/mobs.

Dungeon Boss Arena

Similar to the Queen’s Gauntlet arena where you get to choose which monster to fight you can practice your class skills in the Dungeon Boss Arena.

Some Characteristics of the Arena:

  • Players will have the option to choose which dungeon boss they would like to face and give it a difficulty from easy, medium, and hard. (Hard mode is probably going to be for the Hardcore Veteran Players lol )
  • Each boss will be in their respective environment (For Ex: If players pick Lupicus they will be teleported to the center of arah and prohibited to leave the boundary and go explore the dungeon.) this way veteran players can teach new players how to use the environment to their advantage.
  • The bosses in the Arena will not drop any loot because their sole purpose is for players to practice their skills/builds on the bosses.

New players can practice their class builds/skills and become more familiar with the boss mechanics. Instead of players going into the dungeon for their first time not knowing anything about the boss and having their Guild/PUG members finish everything and leaving the dungeon with little to no knowledge about the boss mechanics they can practice in the Arena before going on their dungeon run.

Benefits of the Arena:

  • Veteran players can teach new players their group style of killing different bosses without having to spend extra time skipping dungeon trash mobs for a teaching run.
  • New players won’t have to wait for a group to run dungeon to practice on the boss.
  • Hardcore Veteran players can choose their favorite bosses to solo/duo (Ex: Lupicus) and record their personal record.
  • Experiment with new builds, trick, and skills that will be most effective without having to worry about holding your party members back.
  • Allowing some of us to do something instead of standing in Lions Arch. ( This is a joke btw please don’t get kitten)

If you guys ever make infusion recipe for Light of Dwayna I just want to suggest making Light Of Dwayna (Infused) version have bigger wings and more noticeable particle effect. As of Right now the wings are really small and particle effects are barely noticeable as is.

Endless Toymaker's Tonic Transformations

So according to the Wiki and item description the transformation for the tonic should be

Toy Ventari
Princess Doll
Toy Soldier
Plush Griffon
Toy Golem
Festive Dolyak

But it seems like when ever you use the tonic you only turn into the Festive Dolyak.

FOTM still dropping weapon instead of skin?

I just finished fotm 49 and got my daily rewards, I’m not sure if this is intentional but I received the fractal trident as an exotic weapon instead of skin. I don’t really mind I’ll just be 1 Transmutation Crystal less but I thought the Fractal weapons are supposed to drop as skins only after the Fractured patch?

Please don’t reply about FOTM Skin Box from 51+ I’m talking about the RNG Fotm skins where you do not have the choice of what skin you want. Theres a reason why arenanet didn’t add FOTM Skin Box to their rewards page because it’s not in game yet so please stop with the Box comments I’m tired of explaining.

This is absolutely working as intended. The game wide rule (minus a bug or two that we are working on) is that once a skill has given you any of the benefits, canceling or interrupting that skill puts it on full cooldown. The alternative, in this case especially, is to be able to make yourself invulnerable for 2 seconds, cancel and then recast 4 seconds later which would be very broken.

Then wouldn’t it be more beneficial to players to just get the virtues at the start of Renewed Focus instead and ride out the invulnerability duration.

Why not just frontload the virtue recharge instead of giving the Guardian two seconds of immunity on the move? You know, so virtues recharge as soon as you activate the skill but have it retain the same CD?

Uhh that’s not the point here. The point is that if you try to cast cancel ( By dodging) Renewed Focus it will automatically go into a 90sec cooldown making the skill useless. What i simply suggested was a way arenanet could change the skill making it so Renewed Focus can have a cast cancel along with a way to make it so people don’t abuse the invulnerability you get while casting it.

Why are you dodging when your cant take any dmg of cc? Renewed Focus has 2 effects the main one is the cast if you let it reset every time you roll getting that small window of use you will have an endless ability to go inviolable ever 3 sec for 1 sec at a time.

As for situation wise you never know what will happen. Maybe you just popped renew focus cus you’re about to die and all the sudden molten firestorm shoots fire aoe all around and your only way out is to dodge through the aoe before the cast ends otherwise you’ll take the fire aoe damage, but now you no longer get the virtues.

2 – Using Renewed Focus and while casting runs into aoe and cast is about run out and need to dodge before the skill cast is finished. Problem with this is you no longer get your virtues. ( Example – Dodging Molten Beserker Waves / Aetherblade Cannon Phase )

Mostly, I think you don’t understand how that skill works. You are supposed to be invulnerable only during the cast time. Why? Because you aren’t allowed to do anything else while you are protected. Same as blocking stances. Adding a cast time before the skill activates would also make it unusable in reflex to block an attack. All in all,
iIt’d be a major remake of the skill.

You’re not getting my point. If you pop renew focus and accidently dodge or dodge less than half a second before the skill ends your virtues are not renewed that alone is enough reason for them to remake the skill. Some guardians use it for the invulnerability and some use it for the renewal of virtues.

As for situation wise you never know what will happen. It’s not just about the invulnerability dude it’s the virtues too.

It’s like if if you need a Warbanner and the skill gave invulnerability while casting but you dodge roll on accident because you’re distracted by the boss attacks and forgot you had invulnerability you get the invulnerability duration but no warbanner because the cast was interrupted and it goes into a 240sec cooldown.

Why would you cancel the cast with a dodge anyway? You are invulnerable!

1 – Teammates heal you and you no longer need the invulnerability and want to save the cast for later time

To OP: Elite skills in this game are mostly gimmicky. They should be redesigned to heighten their usefulness to something akin to the warrior’s Rage Signet.

While other classes have an Elite cast skill cancellation cooldown of 4secs us Guardians gets the whole 90 secs making the skill completely useless. It seems a bit unfair, I understand that if you reduce the cancellation cd to 4secs like other classes people will just abuse the invulnerability cast.

So i just have a suggestion of making the skill cast time 3/4secs or 1 secs and that you receive the 2secs invulnerability and virtue renewal at the end of the cast.
Why?
- 3/4 sec/ 1sec is enough time for you to cancel the elite skill.
- 3/4 sec/ 1sec isn’t too long of a cast time to receive invulnerability in a do or die situation.
- Receiving invulnerability and virtues at the end of the cast time will make sure people don’t abuse the new cast cancel cooldown.
- If you dodge an attack while casting your Renewed Focus it will no longer go into full cooldown and allow you to use it again in 4secs.

This way your Elite Skill won’t go into a 90sec full cooldown if you want to cancel the cast and save it for later or if you simply dodge on accident while channeling the Renewed Focus

Or

As many people have already said make the Virtues Renewed upon activation of Renewed Focus

If anyone have other ideas of how to make the skill work out please post it!!

I’m not going to be a party pooper, but I will look at it in a realistic way. First of all let us look at what we currently have in this game. We have a bank that is account bounded. (There are several games MMORPG out there, that has Bank per character). We can access the bank by going to major towns or hopefully find the bank tag in open PvE map (Crafting stations, Bank NPC in mount maelstorm etc).

When we look at gemstore we can find a bank golem which we have access for two weeks of the price of 500 gems. It does the same purpose which an account bag would do + a little bit more because its your bank.

Then if we do open tons of Black Lion Chests or are willing to put a thousands of gold on the trading post for it. We can get aPermanent Bank Access which then again serve the same purpose as an account bag + more. Again you can Buy/ farm key till you get it.

Again I don’t say its a bad design to include an account bag. I’m all for it, but looking at it in a realistic way that we already have an account bag which is called a bank and can be upgraded to 12 bag slots. That’s 12 × 20 = 240 slots of bag space.

So any words?

While you do have very good points about the personal bank golem and permanent bank access. The bank access can only be on 1 character at a time, unless you’re rich enough to buy golems/perma access for all your toons it will rather be annoying to have to transfer it between toons over and over. Also there’s another inconvenience that is still there which is the inconvenience of moving the items from your bag into your bank and vice versa.

For example if i were to say salvage items on multiple toons with my Salvage O’ Matic tool i wouldn’t want to have to waste time double clicking golem/permanent access to open the bank dragging the tool into my bag use it and put it back where it belongs so my other toons can use it, where as an account wide bag would give me the convenience of not having to take the Salvage O’ Matic out of the bank and into my inventory and storing it back again for other characters to use. With the account wide bag slot i would have access to my tools by all of my toons by just opening the bag slot.

I’m just saying that the signet would be so much more useful on Guardians in PVE, You guys seem to think its OP because it would make guardians the top sort after class in party support. Guardian already have ’ Hold the Line " skills which provide protection and regeneration. How does it exactly destroy the balance class wise. Does it make Guardians more Stronger no it doesn’t, it just makes their supportive role a lot more better. The term you are using shouldn’t be overpowered since all class benefits from it. Exactly how does this skill even make the guardian OP in a solo basis. It doesn’t! It would be useless without a party. The only thing this skill would do to guardians is make people prefer them over other classes in Party. We already see this happening in CoF with zerk war and mes. So stop saying its OP or unbalanced because its not. It just changes people’s opinion of which class they want better in a party.

use SYG and SY for all boons including stability, use signet of inspiration for party wide god mode.

how exactly does it change people’s opinions of anything? The Guardian is already a must have in any max effectiveness party, I’m sorry that you’ve been stuck doing 2nd rate “speed” runs but the Guardian is already an almighty party support everywhere else. This would literally give them a power that is untouched by any single class, they would be pushed to a tier above the current “meta” and it’s disturbing that you fail to see it.

and since its clear that you cannot grasp the magnitude of your own suggestion i’ll just leave it as that.

Please tell me you’re joking about Guardian being a must for a party. If you’ve every play guardian before you should know that the Stability only last 5secs and the buffs only last 10 secs so its not god mode you’re totally exagerating. Having use all of your utility skill renders the guardian useless for supportive abilities besides the virtues. It doesn’t make the guardian bump up a tier this is all in your own opinion base. If a guardian did what you suggested of using up all 3 utility skills all at once i can assure you that guardian is not going to last. Using up all 3 utility skill just so the party can go into " Your so call God Mode" is idiotic. If the enemy uses a knockdown or any stun skills the Guardian is useless because the guardian had already used up all the utility skills to buff the party members using the “Signet of Inspiration” and cannot break out of stun ( In an Arah EXP run this guardian would be dead on lupi in an instance and cannot provide any buff for themselves or party members until the cd of 48secs for Save Yourselves is over). The skill combo is a double edged sword
it Give yourself and party members 10secs of all buffs but it makes yourself unable to use any utility skills until 48secs is over making the guardian vulnerable to all sort of incoming attacks and damage. So you sir fail to see that this combo skill is a double edged sword not just a one sided win for Guardians. Obviously you don’t know how Guardians work and even if you do own one i can tell you now, you fail at being a guardian.

So a Guardian having to use up 2 of their utility skill with a 40sec cool down on both to give everyone in the party 10sec boon buff is OP while Warriors have infinite party wide might (" For Great Justice" to accompany them with Signet of Rage 30sec of might is not OP. Yeah this skill is definitely not logical and …. definitely OP for Guardians because warriors can have infinite might and not be considered OP.

It’s only OP in party support sense but if you’re soloing with a guardian that signet doesn’t make the class OP at all. I just thought it would be so much more useful on a Guardian than a mesmer.

It’s practically a “Save Yourselves” skill but party wide everyone benefits from it not just the Guardian.

I don’t get how you think a party wide “save yourselves” is not overpowered.

of course it’s much more useful on the Guardian, that’s precisely why the Guardian doesn’t have it

Definition of Overpowered in my opinion is when one class have advantage over all other classes. But the “Signet of Inspiration” doesn’t make Guardians have advantage over any class it just increases party performance. I mean guardians already have the “Save Yourselves” skill i just thought it would be nice if we could share it with every party member and it only last like 10secs. And when in a party everyone expects the Guardian to tank and keep party members alive and providing them protection boons. This is the perfect skill in my opinion for party support.

The only thing it would do is make Guardians more sort after due to their support abilities. Also having “Save Yourselves” + “Signet of Inspiration” combo activate takes up 2 of the utility skill slot with a good 40sec cool down leaving the guardian with only 1 utility skills to protect themselves for the next 30 – 40 secs. I’m only talking about this PVE wise it would benefit everyone in dungeon run. I don’t care much for WvW or PvP they can have the skill disabled. It doesn’t make the Guardian themselves any stronger since they already have the “Save Yourselves” boons, having the Signet of Inspiration skill would increase overall party performance.

Does anyone else think signet of inspiration is kind of pointless on a mesmer. I mean the random boon that generates every 10 secs is nice but that applies to all classes. The active effect isn’t all that great for a mesmer. I think the skill should be added onto guardian skill tree more than anything. Guardians can use " Save Yourselves" + the “Signet of Inspiration” active effect to grant boons to all party members. It seems to be much more useful as a Guardian skill combo than a mesmer skill in my opinion.

Thats why i said that they should had go over their content more carefully before they released it instead of rushing the patch and getting players into trouble. Also the Frost and Flame living story quest gave rewards per character and Canach being a living story dungeon people safely assumed that you can do it per character like the Frost and Flame. So how can you really blame the players and + most of the players don’t even realize that the bag of coins actually give a gold, what about those people that are farming for karma kegs for their legendary and never even realized the bag of coins were gold.

The dungeon was accidentally available before the patch, so the rewards that were being hooked up in the patch were not given to those who did it before the patch. Since we only intended for those rewards to be given once, that means players who did the event once cannot get the rewards again, even if they didn’t already get the rewards the first time during the gap before the patch.

We’re working on a solution to the problem though.

They did intend for it to be a 1 time only reward.

Sounds like an exploit that will/should be fixed. Still I feel this compulsion that if I do not do this I will get left behind and be even more poor than I am. I guess I am going to have to accept not having money and keep my moral high ground.

Yes but this wasn’t released until after the content were made available + if people did not go on the forum they would had never realized that it was a 1-time only reward, the smart thing Arenanet should had done was write it in the Patch Note not on the forum.

This living story dungeon is very similar to the " Black Lion key" farming method. Since there is no penalty for farming the black lion keys, people must have assumed that the rewards were per character since there was no official statement in the patch note about Canach story’s being a 1 time only reward upon release. If Arenanet intended it to be a 1 time only reward they should have said so and go over their content more carefully before releasing to the public. I mean it’s common sense if people notice you can do it per character of course they’re going to farm the gold since Arenanet never told/warned them that the reward was meant to be a one time only upon the patch note release. Any who we can’t for sure tell if it’s an exploit or not until an official statement is released and i don’t think players that have already done this farming should be penalized for a mistake that Arenanet made from rushing the content.
