Hi,
I’ve played a few games and have always been a fire-mage/pyromancer, from dark souls 1 & 2, and more recently WoW.
Now I’ve tried leveling a warrior on this game a few times but I got so bored of the class and leveling system very quickly. I’m hoping to try again as an elementalist, thinking that it’s closer to what I’ve played in other games.
So what I really want to know is whether there is a competitive fire-based elementalist set-up?
Links are also welcome.
Thanks!!
@Holodoc: Thank you ^^
@Wisebear: I was planning to start with WvW as I read somewhere its a good way to be introduced to the way pvp works in this game which from what I’ve seen is quite different to my previous experiences. Would you mind expanding on different builds for different types of pvp? (I haven’t tried any yet)
Sorry, what is the Knight’s Amulet? I googled but couldn’t find it
Such diversity of builds and choice can be a little over-whelming ^^
So while trying to maintain the goal of as much mobility/survivability as possible and still accounting for the need to control the target in order to land 100b to get the damage, would it not be effective to take the physical training trait and to use bola’s (16sec cd) and bulls charge (32 sec cd) alongside using a mace/shield set up.
This would allow for a 4 second immobilisation, a 3 second stun, a 2second knock-down and a 1 second stun as well as the +10% great-sword damage trait.
Although I’d lose the savage leap mobility and flurry immobilisation, I’d certainly gain the interrupt and stun from the mace and allow for two blocks with counter-blow and shield stance.
This way everything serves the dual purpose of mobility as survivability and mobility as offence. The charge and bola’s can be used to both close the gap and to escape from a target, the same with the great-sword mobility.
Would that be an efficient set-up or will it be lacking offensively/defensively or will the mobility be compromised by changing the design so much.
Holodoc thats exactly the type of reply I needed
In your opinion what would you change to this build to make it more efficient? I’m kinda of stuck on the high mobility thing, from my experience in previous games mobility has always been an aspect I’ve enjoyed the most (and I found is quite key to success)
Yes for structure PVP
I came across this, I was wondering peoples thoughts on it, whether its effective or could be improved, strengths/weaknesses ect
The mobility looked really fun ^^
Hi!
I’m trying to find a build to follow, preferably with a pvp focus with high mobility and survivability
After two days of contemplation I’ve rolled a warrior as my first character in this game!
Naturally, after several hours jotting down possible names, scribbling them out and throwing the paper in the bin, countless more hours getting the eyes just right and deciding upon hair style, I have a warrior!
So now its just the build…
I think I’m going to main a warrior, with thief and ele as alts for when I need a change.
I found this just a moment ago when searching for builds. Can anyone give me a detailed rundown on its pro’s / cons and what professions it will be strong/weak again?
You guys have been really great
Hmm Elementalist…admittedly I read somewhere that they were very squishy and moved past them. I’d rather keep this to a single thread, so…
Would someone mind telling me more about the profession for PVP?
:)
I’ve been doing this since my second post. Trying to refine what type of questions to ask
I’m still struggling with the hardest part of the game: choosing a name….
I don’t suppose there is a forum for that?
I’m now trying to decide between Thief and Warrior ^^
I’m fine with having to take time to learn the profession properly regardless of difficulty, usually when that’s the case I find I enjoy it more and don’t become bored so quickly.
So lastly then could anyone give me a little bit of a more detailed run down of the Thief and Warrior (especially this cancer tank build)
And personal stories of glorious deeds on the battlefield, or those ‘oh my god did I really just do that’ moments
Wow! This community is really nice and helpful! It is such a nice difference not to be trolled or flamed when asking questions like this!
So I’ve narrowed it down to warrior, thief, guardian and possibly mesmer. I still have a few more questions though, if you wouldn’t mind giving a few more answers
Guardian: What is the mobility like on this class?
Warrior: Cancer tank?
Thief: If played well, how is the survivability? Is it a glass cannon?
Thanks
Hi,
I’m completely new to this game and would like to hear some opinions on which class you find the best to play as in PVP. Not so much in regards to fotm or being op, but what you find fun, what is your class strong at and what is it weak at.
If you could recommend a class that would be great. Specifically I like the idea of high mobility and survivability (preferably combined)
Any cool stories welcome too
