I have rarely felt as good about work I’ve contributed to as I feel right now. Thank you for the positive feedback. <3

Guild Halls Wager Results

As you may remember, McKenna & Dara, my fellow guild team members, had made a gentlepersons’ bet with me that the golden splendor of the Gilded Hollow would be most popular with the guilds of Tyria. I, meanwhile, had figured that ease of access and the joy of gliding would draw more guilds to the windswept heights of the Lost Precipice.

Well, we’ve given the community a month to claim guild halls and we’ve tallied the results. By the final accounting, 68% have claimed the Gilded Hollow.

Congratulations to #teamgildedhollow for the impressive showing. To my friends on #teamlostprecipice, take heart that you’re still nearly 40% of the community.

McKenna & Dara, you were right. Congratulations and thank you for being awesome members of the guild team!

Thanks, as well, to everyone who’s participated in claiming and building a guild hall!

Hi Roggid. Your purchased upgrades are tied to your guild rather than the specific hall you’ve captured. So if you switch halls, your buildings will be in the same state in the new hall as they were in your previous hall (e.g., you won’t have to repurchase Arena Restoration 1 and/or 2 if you already have them), and you’ll still have all of the other unlocks you’ve purchased as well.

Enjoy the Lost Precipice if you decide to make the change!

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark, friends. Or in the Guild Initiative, as the case may be. We never set an explicit end time for this wager, McKenna and Dara, so I think it’s a little early to call the result on our friendly bet. For all we know, a bunch of guilds took the Lost Precipice initially, but were seduced by mere curiosity to delve into the gloomy recesses beneath Tarir. It’s entirely possible that, given some time, they will turn their faces once more to the warmth and light of the Lost Precipice.

Here’s what I propose: we give the community until December 1st to make their choice, then we measure again and applaud the winner.

Do you accept, ladies?

Unrelatedly, congrats to the guilds that are already finishing buildings in their guild halls!

Shenanigrams! I know a ton of guilds have claimed the Lost Precipice and to see that over one thousand more guilds have claimed the Gilded Hollow than the Precipice is pretty unintuitive. Suspicious, Seth, suspicious. Dara, did you bribe Seth?

Guilds and Guild Halls

Apparently, the people that do the event to claim the guild hall need to have HoT (opening the GH is done in the new zone), but then, when claimed, guild members without HoT can join the GH instance.

But in all honesty it’s not stated very clear, so we’ll need to wait and see for the details.

You’re basically correct, Galandil.

By virtue of the guild hall maps being out in the jungle, you’ll need access to those expansion maps in order to initially liberate your hall from the dragon. Once you’ve cleared out your guild hall, though, guild members who don’t own the expansion will be able to travel to the hall via a fast travel button in their guild panel. Benefiting from new content in the hall will require owning the expansion, but you’ll be able to benefit from existing functionality without it (e.g., using the guild bank, running missions, etc).

Hope that clears up that confusion. Thanks for your interest in guild halls, friends!
