Is it possible to display several zone chats at the same time so it’s easier to find and join parties?
For example I’d really love to be able to simultaneously read lion’s arch chat and plains of ashford chat while i’m exploring queensdale.
How about A-net could ask players to check what decisions are what players want for future content? They did some for Diablo 3 and i thought that was a good idea.
I can say one “Would you like 20 more levels to reach or a more horizontal progression?”
This is not a hate post, but Anet needs to know what are good story characters and who are the bad ones for us, the players. This two are the most hated characters of the series and i would like to discuss which one is the worst, and why.
I see them both as a really similar characters. Don’t have any charisma, the player doing all the job, and after all, getting all the credit.
I also find the rest of story characters in gw series very very flat and uninteresting (maybe the best, Palawa Joko), but I understand some people could find them charming enough. Then I open this post also to discuss who are the best characters in gw.
Thanks
I completelly agree with this post!! I personally never have enough time to finish 6 fractals in a row. It takes too much time. I’m still at lvl 2 and i’m tired of repeating them and not finding any group. Maybe i’ve done the colossus 6 times. I have moved to other content.
At least if the round sistem could be changed, i could level up different.
I’m sure they will add more reasonable ways to get ascended gear and i’m going to wait for it.
Yes, fractal sistem is a bad idea
Don’t forget you get a gift for your legendary weapon.
The thing is the story is really linear with no flavour, boring characters, endless mob fights and not personal at all, because there are no choices that affect the ending.
It’s hard to understand for me to read positive comments about personal story… Anet should look at games like baldur’s gate or even world of warcraft in order to see not only how to make an interesting story, but to learn how to tell it right.
In my oppinion the difference between a good and a bad game is the story. I will not remember the story of gw2, it’s not memorable in any way, lacks in rithm, good characters, meaningful choices, world change, and many more things.
I hope anet reads all of this posts and rebuids the personal story in further expansions.
By endgame i meant things you can do beyond reaching lvl cap.
That is for example the obsidian armor, the legendaries or raising a faction/race reputation. It doesn’t have to be superior in stats than others, just appearance.
Well, wardens could perfectly be a new race. As for the arguments you suggest:
- char where suposed to be the bad guys, some of them are still mad. And now they are a playable race even though we never saw a female char in gw1. With the death of Shiro and knowing that some parts of the Jade sea and echovald forest are recovering, why cannot they experiment any change?
- i supposed wardens where not plant people. In gw1 they bleed so they where made of flesh. In gw1 bleeding was restricted to flesh and alive creatures. So as I see, they could fit. Norn are exactly like human but bigger and there’s no complain about that.
-shiroken are as valid as char in my oppinion. They are different from the current playable races and attractive. I think it’ll be possible to see them in gw 2 even with shiro being death.
- it looks like the community looks a lot forward to play tengu, but char are the less player picked character. I think tengu will receive the same appeal.
- largos is the best new race seen in gw2 to me also, but still personally i rather pick a warden.
We’ll see what they have for us. Maybe the best thing is to create completely new races never seen before.
I think Anet should not increase anymore the lvl cap and stop in ascended gear. In gw1 you could find a huge amount of things to do and progress after you hit the lvl cap and have maximum gear.
That can permit the developers to have more time to just fix bugs and add more endgame content.
That was for me a great point in gw 1 that counterparts the wow model. What do you think?
Does anyone remember the guardians from gw1 factions?? They where from echovald forest. I think they would be a great add to the playable races in gw2.
To me, the tengu, skrit and the frogs are not an exciting choice for race but guardians really are, as well as the shiroken (those Shiro minions)
When, long, long ago, I read that the developers where improving every aspect of gw1 to make it better in gw2, the first thing that came into my mind was the story. Yes, most of the stories told in gw1 had a fair/bad plot (and i consider myself a fan of this games)
I read all about personal story and the cinematics, and I really thought they where taking it to new level. Then I played the game.
That was so so disapointing and in many levels. It’s not a new issue, and it’s said in other posts but it’s more than the bad voice acting (expensive and unnecessary to me), uninteresting and flat characters, frustrating gameplay, explosions that dont make any sound, unbalanced rewards, and many more things.
It’s more than that, for example you know the end of the story from the start in most cases, and there’s the huge lie: the personal story is not about your character, is not really a personal story and you don’t really have any choice.
An example of choice in gw2:
“You have to kill those bandits (maybe because they’re bad, if you’re lucky to be told). Then you have two options:
1. Direct attack the front door
2. Subtle attack from the behind door”
It’s a silly example but it’s mostly what they understand as choices. Please Anet, we don’t need that!!
My humble suggestion:
1. Use dungeons to tell the main story plot (at least in story mode) not what are now, some inconnected and, in my oppinion, uninteresting stories. Then you’re free to do the next thing:
2. make a real personal story to just that. I explain:
You can make it shorter, we don’t need 10 missions of kill 2345243 undead (something that is boring and you can find in gw2)
Stories with sense. If I fail to protect an npc or fail a mission there should be a consequence and the events have to change. We dont want to repeat the mission. if you make two ways it encourages to see what happens next and retry later with another charater to see the “what happens if i saved him/her?” Now that does not happen.
Even if I fail all the missions then the result has to be realistic and that will add fun ( "i’m going to fail all missions to see what’s happening!!). That can add missions that could be hard to fail!!!
In the end They can be shorter enough to not have 10 different endings but i thing that the huge amount of “missions” done in the personal stories made so far, may take the same amount of work than the idea i’m exposing.
Really thanks for reading. Keep up the good work! i love the game with it’s goodies and flaws.
