…did I need to play to unlock stuff in Guild Wars 2?
I have all 3 of the original Guild Wars games. All were activated and (I think) my accounts are linked with GW2. But, when I go to the Hall of monuments in GW2, it’s empty.
Did I have to complete the campaigns of the originals or collect certain things for them to show up here?
All I really wanted were the ranger pets
Just noticed this on Codebreaker – Norn quest. At one point it even has the Vigil guy speaking but with the Priory chap’s voice and text :/
I’m running Dual CrossFire 1GB ATIĀ® Radeon HD 5870 graphics cards, but I’m not all that knowledgeable with computers so not sure what values I should be adding.
How do I find out?
The game runs just fine but I thought I’d give this a try to see if it improves at all.
Many thanks in advance
Run GPU-Z to find what your values are on the core clock/memory and voltage, then follow the article on how to make and find the preset(profile), but as your crossfire you will need to input the settings twice instead of once but its not a biggy cause in the article the guy is also using crossfire
.
and please other people reading this post be sure to scroll up for important info you may of missed, this isn’t one of them threads you can skim over, well you can but your going to be asking the same question as others since you can’t take the time to read post.
Thank you so much for your help. I have the presets all made up ready and attached (hopefully) the results from GPU-Z.
I’m just stuck now with what to actually change the settings to

Personal Story difficulty is the single thing I am not happy about with GW2. They are simply too difficult and I think this may result in a lot of the more casual, less ‘leet’ players ignoring them or leaving the game altogether. Which would be a shame.
I myself, have stopped doing them until adjustments have been made. I don’t enjoy them and I find myself getting frustrated and switching the game off.
In my opinion, your personal story should be something that can be done alone. It is called your ‘personal’ story after all. I’m not saying they should be facerollingly simple, but the point of following a story is to see it progress – to find out what happens next. If you are after gameplay which is going to test you, head for a hard mode dungeon.
If they just turned off the de-levelling for personal story instances, I think it could be fine. If you do want the challenge – attempt it at or below the recommended level. If you are struggling with it, grab a few more levels and come back later. As they stand, the difficulty is proving to be a roadblock for some people and story should NOT be locked away like that.
The NPCs refer to my character as ‘The Hero of Shaemoor’ or ‘The Slayer of Issormir’. I certainly don’t feel very heroic. I struggle just trying to slay a few bandits…
I have the opposite problem. I tend to lock on random targets further away than what I’m actually fighting (without ever using the tab key). This has killed me many times in PvP.
I think that auto-targeting selects the enemy closest to centre-screen, rather than which enemy is actually closest to you. Got me killed a few times as well.
There should be an option to choose how auto-target works in my opinion.
I love the de-levelling system. Although I would like it to be optional for personal story quests. ONLY personal story quests though!
They can be extremely tough for more squishy characters and should really be solo-able since they are supposed to be ‘my’ story.
I would like to see the personal story missions NOT scale your level. That way if you are struggling you can just grab a few more levels and try again.
To my mind, it doesn’t hurt anyone as those who want the challenge can do them at the recommended level and players who want to enjoy the storyline and immersion can do so with relative comfort just by levelling a bit more before attempting them.
I want to clarify that personal story missions are the ONLY area I’d like level scaling removed. I love it everywhere else!
I agree. I would love to see dyes account bound.
My apologies if this has already been brought up. Search didn’t bare much fruit.
Is anyone else finding the personal story quests to be a little… hard? Especially if you are one of the more squishy classes?
I love the level scaling in this game and how it keeps things challenging, but out in the open world if something is a bit too hard for you, you can call for help or wait for more people and usually manage to get through.
In story quests I often find myself repeatedly dieing, rezzing, trying to pick off one more enemy before dieing, rezzing and repeating the process. It becomes laborious and not really ‘fun’. I know I could ask for help and gather more people, but it is supposed to be ‘my’ personal story. You’d think it would be solo-able.
Is anyone else struggling with the story quests?
Does anyone have any tips other than “Learn to play”, “Dodge more”, “Gear up”, etc?
Many thanks
