For the sake of the topic though, Gems are up to about a 8 gold / 100 conversion rate right now. So it’s getting a lot more expensive to buy Trans stones.

If you’re looking for adaptability over the most amount of alts, then Scepter (Necro, Guardian, Mesmer) or Greatsword (Guardian, Warrior, Mesmer) are your best bets.

Since the staff covers three of the five classes there, it might be in your better interest to take a weapon for warrior or thief, unless you play the staff classes more often. Keep in mind the thief also can dual wield (and so can the warrior for that fact) so some of the skins you can use twice on them.
