You mentioned that this system would be forward looking as such it would be directed at accounts compromised after it’s implemented but then someone else prior to that statement said that it would work for all accounts prior and after the event, you yourself said that if the user hadn’t logged in and moved forward with their progression they may be applicable.
All of the statements I’ve found have been vague at best, and if they weren’t vague they were conflicting and yes I understand that you yourself cannot divulge specifics at this current point in time nor am I trying to imply that any of this is your fault and I honestly find that people attacking you in such a manner to be disheartening but at the end of the day this is a major flaw in Arena-Nets infrastructure.
Something that should have been present on day one isn’t, the fact that items in a cash shop payed for with real money can be destroyed by account compromisation with no way of recovery on Arena-Nets part is quite frankly disturbing.
You’ve got people slowly trickling in reporting about these issues with varying attempts at responses to them followed by locked topics again and again and again, there’s no real way to grasp how wide spread this issue is because individual topics continue to get locked and then pushed down the chain and there isn’t a thread that exists in plain view for users to have an open discussion about this particular issue or you’re confirmed comments on the system itself and it’s progress as it comes to light.
If a central discussion can be had on the subject of “Karka chest distribution” why can’t this topic have the same treatment, users who are afflicted with this issue shouldn’t need to make it their day job to piece together small details about what has been said in the past with this issue retracing to current relevant information from you and other people on top of securing their services, changing passwords, emails and generally acting as damage control at the same time.
I understand the need to lock topics and let them drop to keep the forum itself clean and relevant to both it’s moderators and user base but what is currently going on isn’t helping this issue in most users eyes, what it looks like to them is that information is sparse, topics are being locked and that the team itself has it on their to-do list with no real confirmed information, hence why people continually create single threads for this issue repeatedly.
If nothing else comes from this post at the very least please PLEASE create a thread with gathered relevant information that won’t get locked so people know where to get and respond to such a topic, so some sort of long weathered discussion can be had on the subject until this system is implemented, letting individual posts be replied to and then dropped down the feed isn’t helping anyone, company transparency should be the game at this point not, we’re sorry but this has been talked about multiple times please refer to my responses in such threads on page 3-4-6-10.
Since this topic hasn’t been locked yet I’ll take what I can get.
Hacked about a week ago for a brief period, when I was able to get back on everything was gone, sold off and currency transferred to someone else even vanity things that had no use to them was destroyed to make way for more bank and inventory space for whoever was planning to use it as a bot account.
Needless to say I contacted support and their response was the same.
“In regards to any missing items such as gold or items, we are currently unable to provide restorations or any direct assistance in reclaiming what was lost.”
I was angry at the time, no actually I was furiously disappointed, my entire interaction with support seemed to consist of me trying to grab at air whilst they sent back generic responses Ctrl-C – Ctrl-V’d from a manuscript.
My final response to them was as follows.
“In light of this I am now going to request a full refund of my purchase of Guild Wars 2 Digital Deluxe Edition as well as any subsequent Gem Purchases tied to said account within reason of purchases made on PayPal and PayPals refund policy.
Considering the fact that digital goods bought not only with the purchase of the game itself but the subsequent purchases of Gems after that are now completely absent from my possession due to lack of product security and now have no means of retrieval or recovery in case of such an event I believe I am well within my rights to retrieve my money, even if I cannot retrieve my time.”
I was considerably angry at the time, I had asked to be forwarded to billing and support, that never happened.
Then I saw Gaile post this 11 days ago on the day my account was hacked.
“Yes, account restorations are very close to being rolled out for all players. There will be qualifiers and requirements, of course, so not every account will be rolled back upon request. (For instance, restorations are only for compromised accounts.)
We’ll have more information in the next few days.”
I privately messaged her with no response, I then opened up a new topic to try and get some questions answered which consisted of a few follow up replies from other people with the same questions in mind.
I went to check back the day after and that topic had been merged with someone else’s, her reply that was directed at me was that she couldn’t divulge any more details at the given time, then that topic was locked.
I did more backtracking and found another response from you 2 months ago that said that this system was “very close” to being implemented, in that respect I have no idea how long this wait will actually be or whether or not it will even work for accounts compromised prior to it’s implementation, should I be waiting for this system to come along and fix what has happened or am I done from the outset and should continue to pester billing and support then move on, who knows.

Support has told me the complete opposite, and that’s about where it ends.
Will this restoration system be retroactive, if so from what point onward, what will the restoration system effect?
Should I be following through with the Billing department or sitting tight hoping that this system will come by some time in the future.

Interesting, thanks for that information, if there are multiple sets that are just not available though certain methods, then the absence of Rabids in general feels less and less out of place and starts to make a little more sense to me.
I won’t lie, it still bothers me to some degree, I don’t understand how say a Shaman set can be more niche then say a Rampagers set when all that differs is preference in play-style, but if it was done to give players a change in style of progression then I can understand the reasons behind it to some degree.
Rabid is condition toughness precision right? If so the only place to get exotic armor for it is through several of the dungeons with tokens.
Correct, Yup I know, I’m currently working on my 6th piece of Svanir armour, Rabid armour can also be bought from the TA vendor.
In saying that, this is the only armour set that cannot be crafted out of all the available sets, I’m not saying that I can’t get these 6 pieces of gear but consistency in availability & progression would be greatly appreciated.
I’m not aware of any jewelry for it though.
That is my point, those six pieces of armour I can deal with, normally you would only go for token armour if you wanted the skin it provides or if you were working on two different sets at the same time, it has never been a necessity for any other set.
The trinkets are something else entirely, the only way you can get the stats that match the token armour is to accidentally find them with an RNG mechanic or pay inflated prices on the Trading post because of said mechanic, this is not the case with any other set.
Every Crafted/Token Armour Set has 3 craftable trinkets to go with it, all except this set, why is Rabid the exclusion to the rule?
I’m not getting better stats over other exotic gear I’m just getting a different set of stats like any other named exotic BiS you would go for, there isn’t a single difference so why is it suddenly absent?
It feels like something the developers just “forgot” to do.
You can`t get everything from everywhere, that would kinda beat the whole point of having different zones and dungeons. And not spending 10-20g to get the best set would make getting the best set a bit pointless, wouldnt it?

Every set sold by dungeon vendors is already craftable with the right tradeskill except for this set that includes trinkets not sold by those vendors, all except this single set, I fail to see your point.
You`re basicly suggesting you get a system where everything is virtually free and easily accesable. I`d give the majority of players about a week before they get bored and quit.
What does this have to do with making things easier?
When did I ever insinuate that I wanted things to be virtually free, strange I clearly remember spending and gathering around 15g for my last 6 pieces of exotic armour what is the difference between those 6 pieces of gear and the 6 pieces that I can’t craft for this set.
By your logic everyone has already crafted or bought the single set that they wanted gotten bored and left the game correct?
I’m not crafting Legenderies here I’m doing the same thing that I did last month and what thousands of people most likely did yesterday, crafting the exotic gear set that was wanted at the time.
It’s like you’ve walked into an entirely different thread or something actually scratch that, a different game altogether.

Understood, but I thought that one of the major selling points of this game was freedom of choice when it came to progression, disregarding what The Lost Shores & Fractals has done to bottle-neck the community, I (we) should not be forced to rely on rare drops from specific dungeons, nor should we need to spend 9-20g a piece on the market to be at the top of our game for one single set.
I appreciate the Info, apologies if I come off sounding crabby, I’m just trying to drive home the point that most other sets have a valid method of acquirement (excluding Tokens) whether that be crafting, WvW, Karma or otherwise, why doesn’t this set have one, why is half of the set available and the rest left up to ambiguity?
Whats the go Arena net?
There have been a lot of open topics discussing bizarre gaps in crafting when it comes to itemization for best in slot in the past but I want to bring peoples (and hopefully someone from Anet’s) attention to Rabid Exotic items.
I can understand the absence of specific gear that people want that isn’t already represented in the game such as Vitality Toughness Condition dmg because implementing this could potentially throw balance out of whack and would need immense consideration and thought put into it’s implementation.
That’s if it were to happen at all, but what is the deal with the absence of Rabid craftable items.
The gear is already in the game all the way up to Rare, what happened?
Did the Art Team not have enough time to make new icons?
Is it a balance issue that only relates to PvE & WvW?
Did someone just lose their to-do list?
I can’t think of a reason for this current situation, I keep coming back to this reoccurring scenario where a child is building a castle with Lego blocks and then walks away when it’s half finished, sitting there for 4+ months until a family member trips over it and someone yells a whole bunch.
Could I or We (the community) get a confirmation on this?
Because currently I am a specific build of Thief that is walking around with rares for trinkets and I think I saw a necromancer crying under the big wooden bridge leading to the token vendors yesterday.

I’ve recently reached level 80 and have set myself some end game goals namely getting started on 3 specific sets that set out to do different things.
Beserkers for WvW
Magic Find for solo play
Bleed/Mitigation for Dungeons
My questions will relate to Magic find and B/M mostly since most of those questions will relate to Beserkers in one way or another, however this will probably end up fairly question heavy regardless since I want to cover all bases so sorry in advance.
Magic Find -
I’m making an exotic travelers set since I don’t want to kitten myself on damage just because I’m playing solo, with that said despite food buffs and using gear alone what is the best method to pushing my MF as high as I possibly can.
I know once I make the set I can fill it with 5 runes of the pirate, the sixth rune seems useless in the long run so what would I throw in there that would be helpful, Is there another rune or gem that I can use to fill that slot with more magic find?
On that note, I’ve noticed in Spvp that my aquatic helm counts as a 7th rune set slot does this also come into consideration in PvE?
Where is the best place to acquire an end game aquatic helm because I’m currently sporting a level 35 helm and I’ll need multiple for each set if that 7th slot remains true.
Do Sigils of luck with 2 one-handed weapons stack? or should I be replacing the second sigil for something else when I’m not sporting a shortbow?
Bleed/Mitigation -

It focuses on P/D for prolonged single target bleeding, some nice control effects, team support and D/D for burst AoE bleeding, considering the amount of stealthing I’ll be doing with my 5 and shroud my traits fall into line and focus heavily on init & health sustain.
I had thought about working the shortbow in there instead of D/D but it seems even with Sigil of agony the bleeding done with cluster bomb last for a pretty pathetic amount of time as far as I’ve tested it.
Hopefully that link works but if it doesn’t my traits are 0/0/20/20/30

Trickery – III – VIII – IX
I don’t want to waste trait points on Deadly Arts if I can help it, the +bleed duration is nice but hopefully if I can gear right I won’t have to worry about duration or wasting points and gaining more power.
I have to decide between a Carrion or Rabid set each one at least to me anyway seem to have a wasted stat to them (power for Carrion and precision for Rabid) power is useless if I’m focusing on bleeding damage and duration and nothing in my traits seems to trigger off of criticals that would help with bleeding as far as I can tell.
So in the end what it would come down to is which stat either Toughness or Vitality is more useful inside of a dungeon, I know Toughness mitigates raw damage while Vitality deals better with over time damage but which is more prevalent in most dungeons, currently it seems from the explorables that I have done I get one or 2 shot by rapid damage but that may have been down to my dungeon choices so far and the fact that I am only using beserkers gear at this point.
This may be entirely wrong but if the 7th rune slot actually works then I should be able to go 5 runes of nightmare and 2 runes of krait, however this brings up another question, what is the difference between bleed duration and condition duration, condition duration on the runes of nightmare seem to have a pretty sad percentage so that leads me to thinking I may be going about this the wrong way, rune of the mad king as a nice 15% duration in there somewhere so should I try and prioritize that over nightmare?
My final question for now is somewhere in there I have the trait that allows me to gain might upon dodging, does might effect bleed damage as well as raw damage? or does it only work one way?
