To NS and SoR and all other servers

I don’t think there have been any explicit treaties involved other than the one day we’re many of us on NSP made a concerted effort to drive Yak’s from our Borderlands that Windmoor mentioned.

Something I have noticed as we have moved up the ladder is that in this tier, servers have much more map awareness and in turn, are extremely opportunistic. If sA sees sB driving all of their forces to hold an orb at the east while sC throw themselves at said keep, sA push up and around the west side of the map because they know it will be lightly defended.

It’s simply opportunism, not any sort of official treaty to attack one team.
I for one, love the mechanic of three teams because of this.

AR vs BP vs NSP Score.

Now that the match is almost over, I’d just like to give a personal thanks to both Anvil Rock and Borlis Pass.

The assault on Dreaming Bay where you took the orb back will probably go down as one of my most memorable battles in WvW. I was furious that we rallied too late and you managed to take our keep with almost full supply still in there. I actually ended up dropping 7 or 8 blueprints during our retaliation; blueprints I was planning to save for the new match up!
Safe to say I wasn’t happy and I’m amazed that you managed to evoke such serious emotion in me (and others I’m sure).

NSP has been through some tough times in regards to uneven matches and populations so what I say comes from empathy and not some form of pity or superiority. Thank you, thank you, thank you to those of you who continued to fight during the week. The battles that were had when numbers allowed, were mostly epic and most importantly, fun. That’s what I WvW for.

I hope one day we’ll meet again on even ground and a healthy rivalry will arise.

Things works out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.

Trebuchet and other seige weapon ranges

I think the trebuchet’s s range should be brought down to 9000, it’s damaged upped a bit, and its cost dropped down to 15-20 silvers. That would put them just out of range of neighboring fortifications, so realms can’t treb their way to victory from behind walls.

This is precisely the reason for the trebs current distance and price though. It means in order to take a fortified garrison/keep you must first take the towers around it in order to set up strategically placed trebs that are relatively safe from the enemy. It’s a good mechanic IMO and one that is only resorted to (because of the price and time commitment) when something is fortified enough to make knocking on the doors a death sentence.
NOTE: I spend 95% of my time in the Borderlands.

Ahh! Just as I was starting to get frustrated at all of the complaining on this forum, this brought a smile to my face!

Good stuff. Haha.

So now that the newmatchups have happened, how badly is night capping wrecking your server?

I’m from NS and have been since the start. Here’s a somewhat quick explanation of what our server has been through since launch, that ends with us in the current state of WvW

Ascension Alliance tried to foster a huge community on NS and succeeded. This is why we were placing so high during the initial test rounds of WvW. Unfortunately, this crowded the server and they could not get enough AA people into WvW. Ascension Alliance left us a week or so after launch and server was in tatters. We quickly dropped to the bottom of the match making ladder, getting stomped even on the lowest tier.

An attempt at organizing the remaining few guilds failed due to low moral and an overall sense of “this is FUBAR” and this ended in another exodus of guilds not too long after.

Then about a week ago a few small guilds (20~members) each decided to take the reigns, create an ‘alliance’, expand up to 100+ members each , utilize TS, chat, etc. A few guilds that left in the second exodus then returned and now we are making our way back up the ladder to be matched against equal opponents.
EDIT: ‘Angry Army’ with their extremely large, WvW focused guild also decided to transfer over due to our non-existent queue times. I suppose this helped the moral massively as we started gaining ground the instant they transferred over.

personal note
I have noticed some animosity towards NS on a few forums and it’s kind of disheartening to see. We’ve worked our a**es off to rebuild from something that really seemed FUBAR. There is a great community on NS and it’s the reason I decided to stay through the rebuilding period. It just so happened that they began 1 week matches when we started to get our stuff together, so now those servers we are matched with, aren’t quite equal opponents.
