I Just Had a Great (But Probably Bad) Idea

I was in the trade post in LA and noticed on the auction block there were paintings, and they weren’t half bad and that it was to bad you couldn’t actually buy them for your home instance.

So here is my idea, you should be able to blind bid on the physical items in the auction house. That is you make an offer without know what anyone else has bid and at the end of the week the person who bet the most will get the item added to their player home for a week. The item is immediately relisted and bid on for the duration of the week than transferred to the new winner and removed from the previous owners home. Also the winner cannot bid on the same item during the week he owns it to give someone else a chance to have it.

Loosing bids will of course be refunded.

The items you can bid on will be anything you see in the trade post auction block like the paintings the pot and maybe even the rugs. Anet can add new items to the auction over time if they really want to.

I was thinking once purchased they could be placed on pedestals close to the entrance of the home instance like the pedestals the Black Lion Trading Co has in LA to show off some of their weapon skins.

This is strictly for ones own whims. It will be hard to even show off the items to other people due to its location, serves no function, and is basically there only as a voluntary gold sink for people who have to much cash and nothing to spend it on.

An alternative idea would be to make the bids race locked so that lets say a Human player character won the bid it will put the item on display somewhere in Divinity’s Reach instead of just your player homes. It could even be that the bid will combine together for each race so if 100 Charr each bid 1g Black Citadels bid will be 100. Losing races will still get a refund tho and other restrictions will still apply.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

How to Fix The Kitten Storm and Save Face

I’ve been reading the forums and the storm seems to revolve around mostly that vet players are not getting anything while the new players get the core game for free when they purchase HoT.

In all honesty I don’t mind the price for the expansion, it was the core game included but upgrading gives you nothing apart from the expansion is what irked me a little bit. If it was just the expansion for 50 nothing else included I wouldn’t of cared.

Anyways here is what I think you could do to alleviate the storm and still save face.
Add a free char slot into the gem store under the promotions tab like you have done before with other items when morale was low and say that was the plan the whole time. To reward the players fighting in the trenches and giving back feedback and bug reports daily not someone who left the game and is only coming back for HoT, since they have to be actively playing the game in order to redeem it.

Dear Devs, how about infinite-transmutation?

What if they made the infinite charge only usable on lv 1-75 armor pieces
than you can get your alts to look different as you level them and the price wouldn’t have to be ridiculous

(Suggestion)Auto Partying for Low lv Dungeon

Hello sorry if this is in the wrong spot or a double post but I couldn’t find a similar post

Is is possible to create an auto party system for lower level dungeons like what they have in Tera?
A quick explanation of the Tera’s auto matching system is that if you are within a certain level range you can hit a button that will automatically party you with other players in the same level range for a dungeon that is also within that level range so you can push the button and do what ever you want till your party is full at which point you can head over to the dungeon.

Basically for GW2 if you are between lv 35-44 and you push the button, it will try and party you with 4 other players that are in that level range to do Ascalon Catacombs who have also pushed the button and if you are between lv kitten into a party for Caudecus’s Manor and so on till Arah. Or which ever level groups you think will be best since I imagine you will like to include story mode.

I think an auto party system would be great for player retention since it is hard to find a dungeon group in the current LFG system that doesn’t require Lv 80 and EXP which new players who just reach 35 wont have, and dungeons are a pretty big part of PVE and leveling in general, at least from my experience. And not being able to do a dungeon that was designed for my level is kind of a buzz kill. There are a few nice posters out there that post any lv any class but those aren’t as common.

Also one of my favorite parts of leveling in GW2 was fumbling threw a new dungeon and learning its mechanics and figuring out how to beat it with the classes in the party, before all of this stacking in corners and zerker only nonsense became the standard. And I want new players to experience the same amount of pain and suffering i went threw as well as the satisfaction of finishing something they have never did before without it being spoiled by the “normal” way to run a dungeon. Tho I do remember a lot of rage quitters I still remember it being rather satisfying when we finally finished. And that’s a story when you can tell people the first time I ran that we had 2 guys quit and wiped 3 times at Kohler and I was running around trying to dodge like a headless chicken not my first time there my party stacked in a corner and we killed Kohler in 5 sec.

I know there is a chunk of you who will believe this is unnecessary and that the current lfg is sufficient and there is nothing stopping people from posting for lv 35-44 only in a lfg post but I still think its should be easier for them to get into a dungeon group than it is now because lets be honest the dungeon was made for them not a lv 80 at least I think it was.

Sorry for the long post and thank you for reading

P.S. GW2 is better than Tera but that doesn’t mean you cant steal a good idea from them :P
