Yeah the greets. I’m getting tired of hearing “Lets see the color of your money” in Divinity Reach. I don’t know if they say it every time a player interacts with them, but less often and, if possible, more variety would be nice.
Is there a time limit on items posted to sell on the TP? There should be. If they fell off after a week the sellers would give up and vendor them, then the market would correct itself. Perhaps they should charge a scaleable fee depending on the length of time the seller wants to list his item.
Certain stats sell better than others, research what’s hot on your server. Farm the mobs that drop fine mats with those stats and craft those items. The basic materials should be readily harvestable or for sale cheap on the TP (with the possible exception of cloth). I’m pretty sure there is no way to profit from buying all the required materials and selling the things you make from them.
I guess I’ve been satisfied with my survivability as a necromancer using a mish-mash of insignia in my level appropriate crafted light armor (I’m a tailor and a jeweler). I can use inexpensive gems in the upgrade slots to boost the stats I want somewhat. I’ve never been a min-maxxer, especially at lower levels that fly by so quickly.
But, yes, there is probably something out of whack when I have butter coming out my ears without even trying and I have to scrounge to get enough jute and wool.
I’m level 32 and I’ve been able to craft items every 5 levels and wear them (tailoring) but I’m not trying to unlock every recipe. Also, at this level, I’m not trying to get a full set of items with the exact stats I want – I’ll worry about that later.
That said I do think it would be nice if the drop rate on the fine mats was increased. I think most people are not like me and want to discover every recipe, so they’re holding onto every fine mat they get and using them. It should be a more viable option to sell the items I don’t want for money to buy the ones I do.
I was thinking about looking at the forums here yesterday to get some insight and advice and I told myself I shouldn’t, because if you’ve ever read one MMO’s forum, you’ve read them all. Incessant complaints about “[insert your complaint]-fests”, how “useless” skills are, how the devs hate players and everything they do is a “slap in the face”, etc. Not even the language changes. So I try to look into a positive thread and the nay-sayers can’t resist adding their negativity here too.
I’m convinced some people just like to complain and be a victim. You’ll notice they all seem to log hours and hours in the game and they know all the ins and outs of their class(es). The worst offenders can’t bring themselves to say anything good about the game. The giant elephant in the room looming question is, of course, why do you play? They never answer that one. Apparently complaining is actually part of the fun for them, maybe subconsciously. I think sometimes it’s a variation on griefing – the joy some people get in ruining other’s fun.
Now I need to do myself a favor and avoid getting sucked into the morass.
I didn’t really have a problem with Jute, and not at all with leather. It was the rare materials for making insignia. Make sure you salvage anything not worth selling on the TP. You’re probably aware there are “salvage materials” that could be mistaken for vendor junk. If you complete exploration of a zone you get 40 pieces of material for that tier, and a good deal of cash. At lower levels I’m not hung up on making myself the ideal armor for my build – the mish mash of insignia worked fine. I’m not a min-maxer.
I’m a vegan. I applaud veggie burgers and abhor bacon. Keep it as it is. Or make the virtual stomach churning smell go elsewhere. :P
Same for me, yes there are more of us out there. Though I wouldn’t mind if they added it. If they did though they should go ahead and add 100 to 150 lbs to all of the npcs, and then they should add a hidden passive to any meal with meat in it. It adds 1 to your heart attack score. Every 10 seconds the game rolls to see if you have a heart attack based on how many meat products you’ve eaten.
In all seriousness though I’m so sick of seeing people being unhealthy with what they eat. It would be fine if tax dollars taken from me weren’t then used to support their unhealthy life styles.
Seriously? First of all this is why no one invites you to their picnics – you’re a preacy elitist buzzkill. (The OP was joking.) Secondly, overindulgence in anything can make you fat, and I can get fat much quicker eating fruit and grains than I ever could eating meat.
I believe Aquatic weapon and rebreather drops are all soulbound, unsellable and unsalvageable as well.
