It really is disheartening seeing ppl complain so much about a feature that is coming with the new expansion, for “dumb” reasons, in my opinion. Mounts have a use other than carrying you from point A to pont B, by itself it makes them diferent for normal mmo mounts. I rather prefer the mounts instead of the stupid mushrooms in Hot, plus the fact that i won’t have to put a kitten speed buff/skill on my builds anymore so thank you for that.

How to unlock new elite specs???

I sincerely hope one can unlock the new specialization through questing instead of just hero point hunting, hated that in Hot so much that i only fully unlocked 2 specializations. I actually prefered grinding Eotm than going to HoT maps.

Old Tyria. HoT maps are beautiful but a mess to move around, add that to the masteries grinding so we can move around and it turns into an annoyance.

3/10 before, 5/10 now.
The change is nice but for those with several alts and no world completion is still going to be a chore. Heropoints hunting so one can enjoy the expansion as it should be is still annoying. If they increase the proof of heroics drop in WvW (at least double what is now) it gets a bit higher.

Posted this on the feedback post, but might as well repeat here:

250 points is still a bit much if you consider alts, manageable for 1-2 characters, more than that and is still too daunting. If you don’t want to lower it to a decent cost (100-150 since there’s nothing elite about them), please increase the drops of the “proof of heroics” item in WvW.

Something tells me 100-150 still won’t be decent enough for you. They considered alts in the current reduction, anything lower would just result in people chewing through new content in a week and complaining about not having anything to do within 2 weeks after launch.

I do believe that would be players still annoyed if they made it 100-150, i’m not one of them. I have 8 chars, 1 with 96% world map, when i log in i decide what character i’ll play and what i’ll do, usually 5-7 hours a week. I do my best to not repeat stuff too much so i don’t get bored, so most of my characters are in different maps. Really not very interested in the new maps, but i’ll probably go for the story, however i am interested in the specialization wich is why i asked to reduce it a bit more or increase the drops of “proof of heroics”. Beeing stuck with grinding so i can do what i want is something GW2 never forced me too, so yes i’m upset with the changes they did in this expansion, this one being the biggest of them.

If no more changes i’ll choose 2-3 characters to get the specialization on because otherwise i’ll just get bored and leave the game. There is already enough timegating in the expansion, so Anet should have considered the specializations as a fun experience for players instead of another pointless timegate. I was actually expecting to unlock them in the story itself. But this is just my opinion.

I bought the expansion for the revenant, the guild hall and the specializations. I expected fully to have a massive grind for the masteries, but since we can level them up by doing things we like i wasn’t bothered by it. I fully expect to take me 5+ monthe to get a legendary weapon (if i get it at all). I was expecting the map to be a mess (and something close to hell for me since i’m pretty bad at jumping puzzles). There’s more than enough time gating in HoT.
However i was fully expecting to be able to enjoy HoT in the new specialization, i was not expecting an abomination like i’m seeing ingame. 400 heropoints for specializations, who thought that up? who in their right mind considers this absurd amount in unlocking specializations? This just sucks any enjoyment in playing the game, it’s absolutely ridiculous.

I caved in and bought the expac for 3 things, Revenant, Specialization and Guild Hall.

Having fun with the Revenant so all good there.
Whoever decided on the cost of the specializations shouldn’t be allowed to make a decision of any kind in any game permanently. It’s just a f****** specialization, most of them average compared to the core ones, and they cost 400 hps? they better come with a full set of ascended armor and a legendary to be worth that much (even then i’m not sure). Absolutely ridiculous.
Can’t say anything about the guild halls, my guild still figuring out what to do and when.

Basically, even having fun with the revenant, the thought of the idiotic grind for one specialization (i have 8 chars) is enough to make me stop playing. I knew the masteries would take time, no problems there but the specialization cost is WAY too much, they should cost, at the most, double of a core specialization.

So i give it a 3/10 (because of the revenant)

Hello everyone, i don’t usually post but i have a specific doubt about HoT that i can’t find an answer to. Do i need HoT in order to participate in the guild hall stuff? specifically main mission and subsequent guild missions?

The reason i’m asking it that that i’m on the fence about buying it, like others around i don’t see much that i personally like to warrant the price for it, mainly a couple specializations, the new class and the guild stuff. I haven’t been playing much in the last months but i do want to help my guild.

Thanks for any information

The issue i see here, and this is my opinion, is about preordering HOT to be able to do these beta weekends. If Anet really wants the feedback to find and fix bugs and other stuff, they shouldn’t limit it this way. Giving those that preordered a 4 day weekend and those that didn’t a 2 day weekend would have been a better option. There are many players on the fence about this expansion, the opportunity to try the beta, seeing how thing progress, feeling ingame what they can’t feel from blog posts could also help with sales. It’s a big miss, in my opinion.
