Guild Wars 2

I tried double clicking on it and it didn’t open so I figured it was just a trophy junk item. After you said that, I went back into the game and right clicked it instead. The “use” option that popped up opened it. Thanks for the suggestion or I probably would’ve destroyed it! Got the progress for the achievement. Don’t know if maybe a mod might want to close/delete this thread as it was just me being silly and not trying everything.

I just got the item “Mesmer’s Cache” from map completion in Verdant Brink; however, the item isn’t registering in the achievement section under specialization collections. This is blocking my progress with the achievement.

I couldn’t find the event that happened on 3-5pm pacific, but I thought I’d share my favorite Halloween screenshot of my character anyway. I love the pictures I’ve seen so far! <3 Have a happy haller- umm holler- uh…have a happy candy day!

I haven’t explored the area much, but are there pigs running around or something? Did I miss some epic awesome bacon eating challenge?

On November 3rd, it’s time to roll back the clocks. Anybody know if GW2 will go down for a bit while they change their clocks?

I’m no expert when it comes to games/codes, but will it change reset time in-game if Anet doesn’t roll back the clock until their next patch? Will their in-game time automatically change?

Perhaps this is me not knowing much of the lore, but I’d like to know how Halloween spread throughout all the races. Even quaggans dress up for it! (That quaggan pirate and his buddy the ghost quaggan totally made my Halloween.) Did this start as a human thing until other races met the mad king?

Slightly off-topic:
What was the team’s favorite part of bringing back the Mad King Thorn and what challenges did they face lore-wise trying to add in his son?

I’ve been in too many guilds to count. While some have silly chatter or someone complaining over guild chat some of the time, almost all have had hours and hours with silence and the only people that weren’t ignored were the “core” people. I believe guilds are for socializing… but it seems I’m one of the few who thinks so.

Most definitely not the only one that thinks so! I believe they’re suppose to be a place where people can get together and enjoy a good game, help each other when needed, and forge some strong bonds. Too often I’ve been in guilds where you get ignored. It’s kind of nice to know I’m not the only one out there that’s seen it. I don’t believe it’s the fault of the game’s guild system. I think it has to do with how players interact with each other here. I thought guild missions would help bring people together, but it’s like you have 20 minutes of burst activity and then it goes back to being dead quiet all day.

I repped a wvw focused guild 90% of the time. And every time I’m on TS, I just hear guild mates swearing and cracking up jokes. It’s all fun and never boring, especially on primetime.

Perhaps you guys speak different languages?

Do you guys shares the same interest in the game, maybe you’re in a PVX guild? A primarily pve player talking about dungeons will not get a response from a wvw-focused player who may not know a lot about it.

I generally join PvX guilds since I dabble in just about everything in-game. Maybe it’s time I find a WvW guild and a seperate PvE instead of a PvX guild. Thanks for the response!

I feel like every guild I’ve ever joined was too quiet. I’ve been to a few servers and in multiple guilds and I’m wondering if I’m the only one that feels this way or not. I’ve been in guilds where they always had over 50 people online and repping at any given time….but nobody says anything in guild chat for hours. I’ve tried several times to get conversations started, but it just never lasts more than a minute or I get totally ignored. I always try to be nice to everyone and I always sign up for guild forums. I just can’t seem to find an active guild that has an active social setting.

I’m a bit too shy to talk much in teamspeak/vent/skype and even when I do, it’s normally pretty quiet there too. Perhaps I’m taking the approach to guilds wrong.

Question 1:

Anybody else have troubles finding a guild that actually uses their guild chat?

What do you believe guilds are for? Socializing/questing together/ect?

I don’t know how it works on your server, but I’ve always seen people try to invite new people to run the queensdale train with them. They make parties, and most people don’t seem to mind waiting an extra minute or so until the train arrives to melt the champions. I certainly don’t mind waiting. Yes you can solo most queensdale champs without much of a hassle, but I actually like running around with everybody else. It feels a lot livelier. While waiting for pre-boar, some of us started talking about “what if Mr. Clean were a Meta boss?” today and had a really good time. If the train didn’t exist, that would’ve never happened.

I’ve seen people try to derail the train plenty of times. It doesn’t bother me. I’ll just jump to the next champ. Everybody has the right to play content. It comes down to attitude. Whenever I see somebody being rude to another because they “killed a champ out of order”, I pm the person and ask them to calm down. Then I pm the person that killed the champ and ask them to join us. You’d be surprised how many people join the zerg train that they intentionally tried to derail. (Not counting how many people join the zerg that weren’t intentionally trying to derail the train) Will everyone join the train? No, and it’s their choice. I won’t lecture and I won’t try to weigh the pro vs con of champ training with them.

Sometimes a little kindness and remembering that the person on the other side of the computer can go a long way. Nobody wants to be left out, and nobody wants to be yelled at. Yes you’ll always have the occasional rude person who just yells at whoever killed a champ “out of order”, but there is a report button for a reason. There is a block button for a reason.

Do you HAVE to wait on the train? No. Is it nice to wait on the train for a champ? Yes. It’s something that I personally choose to do and would never force my opinion on anybody; however, we are a community. Gw2 is not just one player, it is many with many different play styles and preferences. I’m sorry to hear that some people have had bad experiences, but with a little extra effort on everyone’s part…hopefully we can stop the hateful attitude that some of you are encountering. Wanted to put in my 2 cents.

Oh, and I always try to bring some tonics or use my caldron while waiting on boar. It makes for some good costume brawl fun! Give the train a chance. Try running with them. You’d be surprised how many friends you can make this way!

I find that my favorite commanders have read “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu. Some of the things in the book seem like a no-brainier, but others not so much.

Who here completely neglected that it has at least 2 showing locks (left side and front) with an assumed 1 more on the right?

This is clearly a box that is meant to hold something in, and I doubt it’s shiny treasures.

A friend mentioned he thought it was a coffin.

So what do we think it is. Coffin or Loot Chest?

Based on the size of the candy corn, I would lean towards small-medium coffin. It could be a huge treasure box I suppose. I like the coffin idea better. Not sure I would eat candy corn out of it xD

There are many other threads that discuss skins and gw2 vs gw1. I’m kind of curious what everybody thinks this box has in it.

I’m going to guess there is candy corn or some very amusing tonics!

Have you been to http://www.gw2state.com/temples.html ? Note: This is an external website and it isn’t done by our beloved Anet. That’s the site I used to find a temple that was open. I have no idea how accurate it is on a day to day basis. I’ve heard no complaints about it, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any.

Today we had 2 people at shatter, myself and somebody else. The other person managed to get a couple guild members out to shatter and then we all went to LA to ask for some more help.

I just wanted to say thank you to those that came out and to those who went our of their way to ask others for help! It’s always nice to see other band together for a common goal. Not sure if any of you visit the forum or not, but I just wanted to say thanks. (would’ve said it in map chat, but I disconnected shortly after the fight >.<)

Crystal desert opened up about 10 min ago. (Thanks so much to those that did the event! You’ve made my week)

You should contact customer support if you have not already. I hope you get your gems soon! Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the gems to go to your account. You can also try logging out and logging back in. I’ve had issues where the game’s interface just didn’t update and it was fixed upon logging back in.

Does anybody know how to trigger it? I thought it was on a 10 minute timer (according to the wiki it is) but it has not spawned once in a span of 30 minutes. I’m on Fort Aspenwood server (NA).

Fort Aspenwood’s is working properly now, as is Rani’s event line.

Problem: Scholar is stuck right before destroying the totem. It says he is still headed to the maw, but he has arrived at his destination and his dialog acts as though the even were not occurring. You can see the totem, but it cannot start the “destroy the dragon totem” event. All other events in the area appear to be working properly. It worked fine earlier. It broke between 2:00pm server time- 3:30 pm server time.

Edit: I haven’t seen the npc Rani with any events today. He’s the kid near the frozen maw event that builds a Snow Norn army after you collect armor for him.
