I’ve been running a DS build for awhile now and I really like it. I consider the most recent update a buff
That said, I use D/D and Axe/Focus in zerker gear. My traits are 30/10/10/10/10. I used to spec 30/10/10/20/0 but the June patch made me want to take my character towards a full DS build
Reaper’s Might
Weakening Shroud
Shrouded Removal
Transfusion (for solo-esque bullkitten, I swap this out for Dagger Mastery)
Vital Persistence, Unyielding Blast, and Deathly Perception
My utilities are Spectral Grasp, Spectral Armor, and Signet of Undeath. I have no trouble generating Life Force, and I’m in Deathshroud more than I’m not, so consequently, I chose Vital Persistence over Near to Death. IMO, having both is redundant with how quickly I can get my LF pool up
About the most recent update…
My play style is very aggressive. I’ve used the pre-patch…exploit (I dare to say) to jump off the occasional cliff when getting from place to place. I also continue (as any Necro does) to pop into DS when I’m about to die. Aside from that, I use it offensively. I understand some people run Condition builds and such and can’t get much utility out of DS other than using it to soak up damage, but DS has five attacks. ATTACKS. They all do damage, and the ones lacking in that area are helpful in allowing us to do damage, whether it be getting into range or making space between you and your opponent. Deathshroud wasn’t implemented to be a Necro Aegis
If you don’t want to get one-shotted, dodge. Deathshroud has a cooldown for a reason
But yeah I love playing my DS build
