or you could run power dagger warhorn and get all movespeed. My necro didn’t really need much aside from that trusty dagger anyway. But then I get most of my levels from pvp and only pve to continue the story so idk q_q
Chilled to the Bone is not a panic button like the current Facet of Light or the dozens of invulns and blocks out there. ( though it can work that way against scrubs )
I usually only use it in the middle of a teamfight when I think it has a chance of landing or bait out all other dodges before using it. Granted, it’s hard to catch someone ( who’s not braindead ) with that shout in 1v1. Still very powerful though!
Thank you all for the input. I’ve tried it against a few DHs today and I seem to be doing better. Less problem with traps once I stay at range and bait out their pull / shield / invulns. Bow isn’t an issue with LoS either. Previously I was trying to knock them out as soon as possible since they have the point and I needed it uncapped, but I guess there’s no use if I end up dying anyway. Taking it slow is definitely better.
They were significantly unskilled though, so we’ll see when I match up with stronger DHs.
Would be nice if there was a PVP guide on dealing with every class. Q_Q My next QQ thread will probably be hating on scrappers.
And yeah, I melt like butter when I happen to have to fight one while low on life force. Even a full bar doesn’t help that much, just prolongs my death ( against a good DH ).
I’d like some tips on fighting full trap / near full trap DHs. The more traps they have, the more trouble I have taking them off a point or even 1v1-ing them in general. I dodge to burn a full set, and they just throw another set one by one burning my dodges. Eventually I die when I run out of dodges. And I can’t really shroud up, jump in and burst them due to all the blocks and invuln. Any help would be welcome.
*These are the DHs who actually know what they’re doing instead of just standing there and pewpewing with a bow or try for a lucky pull. Let’s just assume equal skill for simplicity’s sake.
I run the carrion frostfire meta. ( 3 signets, wurm )
Would be nice if they’d make thief viable but not OP. I tire of all the salt
Would be nice to get the filthy casuls out of pvp ; u ;

I was thinking there should be a balance between burst and bunkers. Aion does it pretty well > every class can basically outplay ( almost ) every other class given enough skill.
Maybe…keep the bunkers around but reduce all the invuln / increase CD and reduce duration / make it interruptable, punishable to be tanky, and limit burst damage to an acceptable rate?
I for one do not want a nuke meta where people skill spam to win. NERF EVERYTHING PLS
I really think eles were okay. They actually required skill to play and were very rewarding to players of skill. That’s perfectly fine.
Why would you utterly wreck a skill-based class while leaving other easymode classes relatively untouched?

The power creep in GW2 would end too – when it dies due to power creep.
I agree with OP on this one point ( too lazy to touch on the others ) : The powercreep is ridiculous.
I would very much prefer nerfs to every kitten class / elite spec including my beloved reaper than see power creep on thief and warrior. Thief and warrior is fine, it was the meta / OPness of the other elite specs that made them difficult to use. And yet some experienced thieves ( and warriors? idk ) still shine. If you keep making us stronger, this game would become too kittening easy to play. It’d become a ridiculous skillspam-fest.
I’m not sure why they buffed scepter or even reapers in general. We aren’t really in a bad place unlike thief / warrior ( and I don’t really agree with the way they buffed thief anyway).
Even if they felt reapers needed a pat on the back, they could have buffed our defensive capabilities. Sometimes the only thing I can do under burst is pop shroud and tank it after burning all my dodges. And if I happen to be low on LF, I die.
Like that other guy who mentioned reapers build to choose what they die to, it’d be nice to have a build that isn’t intrinsically countered by certain classes. Give us the option to sacrifice offense for defense. That might make for more build variety.
Or rather, leave us alone. I’m okay with how my reaper is currently. As mentioned in another thread, making it any more powerful would simply invite scrubs to start rolling reaper cheese and justify all the QQ and salt about us. I don’t want ezmode or I’d play DH
I actually kind of agree with this.

I’ve went back to the Carrion Frostfire meta build and found it to be more effective. I’m simply not good enough to run the previous glass cannon build unlike the guy who introduced it to me. Dead dps = no dps after all. Thanks for all the input!
Also I seriously avoid DS tempests so I’ll stick to dhuumfire for more teamfight contribution. If they come around, I run and scream for help.
And yeah, not having LF is ridiculous. Wtb LF regen like rev energy regen pls
<3 my 25 stacks of might tho.
To be honest I don’t understand the boon corrupt buff on scepter. Scepter has always been staple for condi builds, and power builds would simply run signet corrupt ( and never use scepter anyway ). Scepter isn’t weak right now. Nor do we really lack boon corrupt.
Reapers aren’t even in a bad place right now, why buff us any further?
I main reaper. I don’t want reaper to become the new OP. When I hear people QQ about reaper now, I know they suck and need to l2p. But if they make us OP it would actually justify all that salt and scrubs would start running reaper cheese. That just cheapens my favorite class to use in pvp.
Thanks for the tips! I have two questions :
Why crit over dhuumfire? I can stack up to about 6 stacks > ~2.2k burning on shroud 1. I don’t really have enough power to do any damage I think.
What’s prebuilt death shroud?
I’ve taken to pvping in the morning before classes cause the skill level appears to be lower then and MMR can’t do much to me lol.
But any other time of the day it hurts like anal without lube
My build. Designed to put out as much condi as possible in team fights. Any comments would be nice. I usually drop marks, spite, scepter 3 2 and 1 spam. Reaper when I need to end things quick / throw on pressure / cleave downed + kill the resser.
I get shut down real quick by burst. Especially power ranger / druids with LB. It’s annoying. I also seem to have trouble with 1v1 if the player isin’t braindead. I can hold skyhammer indefinitely but when they have space to kite me it’s a lot more difficult. That lack of movespeed is so real I sometimes pop spectral walk just to get places.
Also I’m new and need to l2p. So teach me please senpais
Specifically looking for playstyle tips / necro role descriptions. I prefer to kill constantly. Being able to fight 1v1 would be nice since I don’t appreciate losing 1v1s. But winning the match comes first.
There needs to be one for when MMR pitches you in with incompetents and you repeatedly get trashed 1vX by the opponent team of scrubs ( because your scrubs are scrubbier than their scrubs ).
It’s k to lose to a more skilled player. It’s not k to lose to scrubs.

LF>pvp buddies ; n ;
Not sure if I’d like buffs to teef. Over the 225 games ( not a lot, I know, but I did try it out somewhat ) I’ve had on it, I felt that d/p was a really strong weapon set. Yes, playing teef is extremely difficult in this current meta, but it’s not a bad class.
I think the problem lies with the meta. I’d prefer nerfs to every class / elite spec ( even daredevil ) than a buff to teef just to keep them up to date with the powercreep. I wouldn’t want teef AA to be the new rev sword 1 with shiro quickness on. That would make teef op ( hard to imagine, right? ) .
Maybe a nerf on conditions, invulnerability, or healing. Make it punishing to simply click an invul skill and expect to survive eg : make any and all skills granting invul channeled and thus interruptable. Increase CD of invuln skills when interrupted. Significant periods of invulnerability must come with a huge kitten cooldown. Shorter periods of invulnerability should be removable / counterable. Say a skill on 12s cd that allows a block on next incoming attack > it can be burnt away with a random AA before landing your burst.
Or simply make skills like endure pain / signet of stone removable with boon corruption / stripping. Maybe diminishing returns on CC and heals so you can’t get dazed for days by 2 druids? eg : Grant resistance to a CC after being affected by it beyond x times. Of course, this would have to come with a limit to boon corruptions and stripping.
Many skills in that one pvp game I feel was balanced has its pros and cons. Prepopping an invul / CC immunity skill before the fight begins would lead to you getting kited for the entire duration of the skill. You had to use it at just the right moment after baiting all the possible counters against your skills. It was never just a press-to-win button like it can be in GW2.
What I want to see is more skill-based combat. Things that are hard to pull off in the heat of combat, rotations that must be thought through and through and adjusted for every single encounter. I want GW2 pvp to be so hard that if you win, you’d know you deserved it. I want GW2 pvp to be like dark souls on a guitar hero controller.
You casuls can get back to pve ; u ;
