Same cant login, same error code
I dont see this at all.
Why not just name your post “im leaving for while” instead of throwing the dummy out of the pram nonsense.
While I do not condone the virtual slaughter of whales for entertainment, I find this argument a little hard to swallow. A couple of whales wheezing on a beach is hardly the most brutal thing in the game. So killing bandits because they are “bad guys” is okay, but a whale dying of unfortunate natural circumstances is bad? Moral dilemma maybe? Maybe your kids should stop playing this game before the wolves, bears, birds and assorted menagerie of real-life creatures line up for slaughter in later zones. .
Killing bandits is fun, they attack us , they attack farmers, the cattle and they have been known to burn hay bales. We feel heroic if we fight them off.
As far as we’ve seen the bears aren’t your typical Goldilocks 3 bears, they tend to run at us and try to kill us, as do the wolves. We fight back, we survive and go on to explore cave or whatever, same for bats. Moas dont attack us. Moas are cool.
The whale we seen in the sea in LA, its green, it impressive and majestic. You cant target it to fight it. Seeing it on the beach it not great for younger players, thats all. They cant act out the heroic part and rescue it. Its a waste, so far in a “fun game”.

“Other NPCs are killed” – yes they are, and we revive them.
“Im a bad parent” – groan.
“I’m sorry, but if you cannot explain the difference between imaginary game/book/film fantasy world and the real world to your children” – literature + films are there to provoke a response in the viewer or reader. they make us laugh, cry, feel scared or excited etc.
My children know the difference between that and the real world. However the response to the whale was feeling upset. We are given through the game a role of “hero” , “guardian” and “defender of the people etc” but in this instance it looks hopeless at the moment. That’s why I made the post.
I will ask again – do you think they will be rescued/ rescuable?
Loved the game so much I got copy for my son aged 11 and we explore together. Him and his sister 12 , now love exploring queensdale and other starter maps and discovering hidden caves, jumping puzzles in cities and are slowly making progress. they loved the halloween events, and running around the labrynth seeing the mad king and the cauldron on LA was hilarious.
Im happy for them to spend a short time on the game, it challenges them helps develop literacy, communication teamwork etc and in doing events yes there is taking down mobs but in a fantasy setting, even killing bandits is ok , they are “bad guys”.
When we came across the whales though and seemingly no way to rescue them, then this was upsetting. Whales aren’t fantasy or “bad”, yet we felt helpless watching them lie there helpless. Its too close to reality and they don’t like it. It bothers them. Ive watered them so much now, but no response. Can I give my kids any hope by finding out they can be rescued???
The pegi info mentions violence and language, which in a fantasy mmo I’m comfortable with, but emotional distress for my kids does trouble me.
Left handed here too, really missing scroll wheel for binding. I havent found a solution yet but am still looking.
ANET it feels like its a simple basic bind that every other game I play has. Please make it an option.
I was just going to make a similar post to to the op. To me crafting (leatherworking) feels like a Catch 22.
To craft level 50 gear by the time I got the mats I’m level 60 !
I want to make and wear my crafted gear but to do so I go out salvage everything to collect materials but in doing so I’ve out levelled what I can craft. Its really off putting I’m enjoying crafting but am always about 5 to 10 levels behind my actual character level.
I’m here after searching the error code. I ve played trouble free from launch until today. Steady disconnects all occurred all today. Maybe once every 20 mins at first but have increased in frequency so they are happening about every 1 to 2 mins.
My son sitting at the desk next to with a laptop has had no issues whatsoever.
Loving the game thanks. Bought a second copy for my son to play with me instead of sharing as its so good.
I agree with all that.
