Since I’m focusing my build on arah, this seems like as good a place to ask as any.
I’m intending to add the +4 infusions to a couple of my ascended gear. Since I only have a limited amount of laurels, I’m wondering if I should just add +power, or is there any merit to going for +vitality? I could only get like +12 at the moment.
That’s exactly what I like about thief, there’s no mindless “oh someone told me to take gs so I’ll do that”. I have like 4 different weapon sets that I use for various activities and swap around between 2 different trait setups. It makes things more fun and challenging.
@Delta blues: how is d/p “trolling” people?
I’m thinking about this too. It’s not like it gives you any additional loot for doing it by yourself. Is there any advantage for this?
Well the advantage to running Arah solo is that you can sell it in LFG and make a lot of money.
For AC, I really don’t know, probably just the challenge of being able to do it solo.
You have enough escape mechanisms. Keep a shortbow as your secondary weapon set and just use 5 twice to get away when necessary.
For getting past powerful monsters, you use shadow refuge. If you have a really long area you need to run through (like some high level dungeons), you can start off with smoke screen (another utility spell) and then blast it ~5 times with your shortbow’s 2 spell, which will give you around 9 seconds stealth. When that runs out, you can then pop on SR as well. Combo that with effective dodges, perhaps Shadowstep, and the 5 spell on your shortbow and you can basically run past anything.
And if all that is not enough, you can trait into Shadow Arts to increase those stealth times.
The 5 spell on d/d is really mainly just for activating stealth attack
I tend to pop it out if I want to range a single target at range. Champion trains, a couple of bosses in dungeons, etc.
I would never main it but it’s useful to have an extra pistol in your inventory sometimes
I actually have a few. If you want I’ll post the most recent one I did in regular speed. Wasn’t really planning on it otherwise. It’s the most relevant because the rest I did were about a year ago.
That would be great, thanks =P
The main problem with most of the footage is it’s from before april, and I hear there was a significant nerf to crit damage then. I only recently started playing again so not sure exactly what happened
Edit: How did you manage to dps down the last boss before getting tped out? I tried duoing it with a friend recently and we just barely made it with the two of us.

I’ve never fought lupi even in a party, so this should be interesting =P
At least it’s easy to run back to lupi after death, running back to Abomination every time was a pain.
Do you happen to have a vid of the lupi fight?
Didn’t really think of it at the time, I probably should have exploded them =P
Looking forward to that video, how long do you think it’ll take to learn lupi solo? It seems like the slightest mistake and you get 1 hit.
The thing is if you can do lupi, you can do the rest of p2, but then p1 is easier, and you might as well do that =P
The only reason I’m REALLY interested in p2 right now is because I can get solo access to practice lupi without having to pay for tar boss.
Though the ooze fix might stir things up, we’ll see
Thanks! Figured it out.
I recorded myself killing it. Perhaps not a perfect execution but hey, the more videos the merrier? =P
Looks like I can’t facetank without zerker trinkets. Will try again when I have them.
Is there any video of a thief soloing it? The ones I found have too much fastmotion to see anything, or stupid text all over the screen
Thanks. Though Belka is not undead, so that sigil wouldn’t improve my chances against her would it?
But anyway, I will try with that setup soon. Thanks for the help
Hey, so I’m trying to learn solo arah. I have ascended/exo gear – armour is zerker’s, most trinkets are soldier’s with some zerker’s thrown in.
I’m to be unable to kill Belka. Would appreciate some tips. Currently I’m trying to kill her with s/p (accuracy+force) while having a signet of malice up and putting down smoke screen when I can. I find I just don’t leach health back fast enough to stay alive. Same result with d/d. Anything I can do to improve my chances or am I just destined to not being able to do it? =D
Thanks
Europeans aren’t a race, so it is not racism. It’s just prejudice. Some people said people tend to be more mature in the NA servers.
But even that is a bit subjective and that’s why I’m more interested in hearing about the server performance.
Hello, I’m a European that played on NA, now I’m considering transferring to EU. Reason being is I hope to see more people in the dungeons LFG when I’m on, and more European based guilds.
But I’m wondering if it’s worth it. Random allchat discussions told me that EU tends to have worse servers, and worse people on average. Is there any basis for any of that or is it mostly just random nonsense?
The latter is remedied by a decent guild, I’m mostly wondering about the server performance.

I just rolled a Necro over the weekend and found the same thing to be true of the Blood Fiend as the OP. He held aggro, I didn’t need heals, he died, I need heals, he’s on CD.
I now use WoB and am much happier. While staying immobile isn’t ideal, the well is big enough that I can still dodge and stay in it. Unfortunately, if I don’t have a minion out, I’m getting pounded on in a group of mobs.
Consume Conditions really isn’t useful for me yet because at 16 nothing is really spreading conditions.
Don’t look at it as consume conditions, look at as a nice heal + also consumes some conditions on the side. The heal alone is pretty nice.
I found myself using the Blood Fiend as just a tank as well – and he’s definitely not ideal for that. Now I just get my Flesh Golem to do that and use CC for the heal when necessary.
Also keep in mind even though you may not be getting many conditions from mobs, you might still want to cast spells that put negative effects on you as well. Chain that with CC and you’re golden =P
How's my necro doing so far? Pve, condition, specter/dagger+staff

Thanks, I was sceptical about Blood is Power but it does synergize nicely with deathly swarm.
Now that I’m not using any signets, what should I choose for the lvl 10 Spite thing? None of them seem particularily useful, considering Reaper’s Might and Spiteful Spirit.

What would I replace that spite with? Some have said plague signet, but I don’t see that too useful for pve, since it implies I have any conditions on me to begin with..

Gear changes, traits improve, skills don’t change.

So I’ve noticed there’s a severe lack of actual good guides out there, people post stuff but there’s little to no feedback. So here’s my necro, I’m only lvl 30 thus far, mainly only pve for now so I don’t really care about pvp.

I know signet of spite is a long cooldown but that combined with epidemic is pretty good for taking out a group of mobs. Plus spite IV helps out a bit with the cooldown. Spectral walk of course awesome for navigating around.
I just reached 30 so not sure what the best Elite is to go for yet, considering Plague and Summon Flesh Golem atm. Plague seems to have more synergy with the whole condition thing, but flesh golem has a shorter cooldown so I might be able to deal more total damage with that?
