About
Logan Dropped The [Soap] is a guild created by a few oddballs who left one of the major WvW guilds on Desolation to focus primarily on PvE, where we excel. As we focus on PvE, we don’t really mind you being on another server.

As of writing this, Soap consists of 17 members, all of whom reside within Europe (timezones GMT+0/1/2).

[Soap] is today highly focused on speed clearing dungeons, as we feel this not only highly profitable, but also highly challenging. While we might not be a record setting guild, we still clear quite a few dungeons with atleast decent times (CoE sub 13 min/path, SE p1 sub 6 min, AC all paths in sub 40min).

Thats the short story

Recruitment
We have decided to open up recruitment for (a maximum of) 10 new members to join our ranks.
Why 10? If you seriosly think you can be highly interactive and social with over 100+ at the same time, this is not the guild for you. :P

Who do I need to be to join?

  • Highly social
  • Highly friendly
  • Semi-hardcore (we expect you to be online 3-5 nights a week for a few hours atleast)
  • An open attitude to the game, meaning complete respect for RL stuff aswell as IG stuff
  • Preferrably 18+. If you know you’re a mature sub 18 y/o thats fine.
  • Fluent in English
  • Atleast 1x lvl80 character (fully geared with exotics at minimum)

What can we offer?

  • Wealth. We run dungeons every night and make about 15-30g an evening (~2-3 hours), even more on weekends
  • A very friendly community (most of us are on a first name basis)
  • Teamspeak
  • Horrible and sometimes offensive jokes, especially late at night

“Guidelines:”

Drama
We play this game to have fun. FUN. If we feel you are not a good fit to the guild, you will be removed. Easy as that. While this may sound very harsh, thats unfortunately the reality of Soap. Everyone have bad days, but if we feel you consistantly act rude, bad, mean; awful for a lack of better words; you will get removed.

Representing
We can never force you to represent the guild, but we will not be seen as a “pug guild”. You’re either in, or you’re out. Granted, you can rep other guilds if nothing particular is going on in Soap, but then again, we always form dungeon teams in GC. To put if bluntly, if you join, and then decide not to rep 80-90% of the time, you will be removed.

Rules about rules
We are here to have fun and these rules a more common sense than anything. The intention of Soap was to have as few rules as possible, so we like to call them Guidelines and not rules.

If you are still reading this and still havn’t been scared away, feel free to contact me in-game, either with a mail or a PM. Oh we will probably want to have you tag along a dungeon run or two before we invite you, I probably should’ve mentioned that earlier. Oh well!

Karka Queen and spawn locations

Heya

I’ve made a little custom timer for the guild I’m in that people seem to really appreciate, so first off I just want to say thanks for the API, it’s been making my obsessive brain code for the last couple of days.

Today I heard from a fellow guildie that the Karka Queen meta event will be a permanent addition to GW2, which is great (give me more rares!!!)! I am a bit curious though as to what ID corresponds to what location on the map.

This is what I have so far:

Quaggan knows that explosive shot is tied to the Firearms Trait.

Dear Quaggan.

If you look at it like that, all weapon sets including bomb kit and grenade kit is tied to firearms, since firearms grants you more critical hit chance = more damage with said kits

An explosion is an explosion and should be affected from traits affecting explosions.

Explosive Shot does not gain anything from traits that affect explosions. Havn’t looked through all traits but I know for sure these traits does NOT affect it:

Steel-Packed Powder (Explosives +25)
Explosive Powder (Explosives +20)

[Keyboard bug] Unbidable "<"> key.

Hi

Using a nordic keyboard (including åäö letters), and since the start of halloween, I couldn’t use “<” to stow/draw weapons (which I’ve been using for this since launch).

I tried to re-bind this button, but the game no longer registrers this key as “<”, it instead registers it as “§”, which is used to swap wepon sets.

The physical placement of they key on the keyboard is right between left shift and z.

I attached a picture of the keyboard layout.

An obvious bug.

Im curious as to how its possible to specify that the game’s FoV is 75, even though we can obviosly modify this by playing windowed. This would indicate that its a players screen which decides the FoV and not the acctual game.

Same here, firefox (latest).
Probably typed wrong password.
Yesterday I had to login three times before I could log in, this evening just once.

That can’t be, because my password is autofilled and I never wrote the password in the first nor the second time.

This showed up when I tried to log in

that makes no sense..
it will make you invilnerable to immobilization since you can t be targeted by the duration of it..
lets say you get rooted by a ranger.. they cant atack you for 3 sec.. and you can retaliate, cleanse, or whatever you want in that time… the trait its very OP if you think about it.

This is not about anything being “OP”, this is about fixing the acctual effect or description of the trait.

Also, it goes like this: Immobilized → Invisble (cannot move, since i am immobilized, though invisible). Since the engineer cannot move, you can easily tell where the engineer will be (where you “rooted” him/her).
The Engineer cannot remove any conditions or anything on him-/herself if he/she cannot move.

The description clearly sais “You become invisible when immobilized”, though it fails to state for how long. As of today, it makes you invisible for 3 seconds, even if there’s a 5+ second immobilization effect on you, thus making it unreliable and not really that useful. I’m speaking from experience in PvE, since my machine really can’t handle graphics in PvP/WvW today.

How to fix?
a) Make it last for as long as the immobilization effect
OR
b) Fix the description.

I along with probably every other Engineer would prefer a).
