With some of the best trait being attributed to adrenaline, it nerfs A LOT more than just the simple mechanic of adrenaline itself. Cleansing Ire (our only good source of condi remove unless you wanna dedicate your entire build/rune set to troopers/shouts) Without adrenaline we are forced to either die from condi, or run shout builds. The traits which increase power and precision with higher levels of adrenaline too. Since we struggle to gain it as fast, and the enemy can simply reset for 1-2 seconds and we lose nearly all adrenaline. It has nerfed those traits to the ground since the enemy can remove those buffs as and when by simply kiting away.
The checklist of the last tournament was a little bit “grindy”, but definitely well within achievable limits. The new system could work, but 5 achievement is way, way, WAY too few. The whole point of the wvw tournaments is so that servers battle against eachother and fight to win the top prizes. I don’t think its very fair that the pve players can simply walk into wvw for 5 minutes, complete 5 events (per week, over the 4 week period) and still get full rewards for the whole server, when they barely participated. I feel that it should stay as “any wvw event” but should definitely be boosted to say 50 events per week. This means that people have to really make an impact in the wvw scene to get the achievement and the tournament rewards. It also makes it a little fairer so you don’t get the spongers who will get rewards for next to nothing.
During level 29 i got literally a 1/100th of a level from a keep. It was madness, i didnt realise there was a glitch.
I had the same issue and i was at level 29 also. I made a post about the nerf of wvw exp also. Im level 30 now and in eotm and things seem to be fine once more.
Event experience in the game in general seems to have been nerfed. Eotm leveling is done by doing lots of events, event exp for my character has taken a huge hit in general. Eotm is just where it hits me the most due to my playstyle. But yes, maybe i should re-work my title a little. Thanks
Also i don’t see how you can compare illusions to adrenaline. Illusions provide confusion to the enemy (In a literal sense. In some situations its very hard to keep track of the real mesmer) adrenaline does not affect the enemy in that way. Illusions are very easily replaced and you have a huge range of skills to INSTANTLY replenish clones/illusions if you wish. Adrenaline has one skill that will instantly replenish it and it has a long cooldown. You can’t really compare the two, they are completely different mechanics. At least mesmers can hide behind clones and are hard to locate whilst providing huge damage if they wish. Warriors have decent mobility (providing you want to use swords and greatsword) to compensate and they have adrenaline to provide buffs when it is full (again, only if you spec for it) or to provide a hindrance to the enemy for a short time (stun for hammer, immob for sword, decent burst dmg for axe etc) when burst skills are used. Once a warrior drops his adrenaline he loses his dmg buff, precision buff, ability to remove condis until he can regain it back. Mesmer can instantly replace what they use when played right (obviously if you spam all your illusions and over wright your old ones without utilizing your shatter abilities first then you are simply a bad player) The nerfs to adrenaline are made a lot worse due to the fact it can be removed at any time by the enemy if they run away for a few seconds. That aspect of the nerf IS game breaking.
I agree that if you attempt to use your burst skill, you should lose your adrenaline whether you hit or miss it. But with adrenaline so hard to maintain you wont get chance to use your burst skill effectively in the first place.
I agree, the old system was slightly broken with how warriors could keep adrenaline as long as they wanted. But INSTANT decay just makes the whole adrenaline system useless. Especially when combat is so easily broken with simple kiting/stealth.
Before the Sep 9th patch i made a new alt warrior (I have a charr warrior as my main, and i made a sylvari one purely to use him in wvw roaming as i feel the charr is sluggish due to the bigger model) My warrior was level 26 or something before the patch hit. I have played this game since launch, i have one of every class at level 80. I have done my 100% map completion and experienced most things that the game has to offer. As a result, farming hearts and map exploring is boring for me now. “Been there, done that” as my title clearly states. I am finding it REALLY time consuming to gain levels with my new alt after this patch. Due to the fact that i have done pve on my other toons, and even if you can find a group who will take underlevels in dungeons, lets face it underlevels suck in dungeons and it takes far too much time for what its worth. I usually just farm EoTM to gain my levels with alts, but i have noticed that it has taken a HUGE nerf. I captured a keep yesterday and my exp bar went up by a couple of millimeters (i play on a 28 inch monitor) so that is basically NOTHING, i get about a centimeter from discovering a POI in pve. But i get 1/5th of that from capturing a WHOLE keep in wvw? Wtf is this? Is it intentional? A glitch that needs patching? All these new patches are just holding the hands of newbies too much, but still making it harder and forcing them to play the game a certain way. I liked this game because i could do what i liked to gain my levels. Now my options are being reduced and i don’t like it. Anyone else having any leveling issues since the patch for toons lv25-30+? We know that made it super easy to reach lv15 now, so don’t talk about how fast and easy a brand new toon was to level.
The Out of combat decay is just insane. In wvw when you are kited/reset you just lose it and have to start from scratch. And when so many traits are build around the adrenaline system it renders a lot of builds and traits nerfed, not JUST the burst skills that are involved. Berserkers power (increases damage at higher levels of adreneline) in the Strength line, which is used in a lot on PVE damage builds, paired with the fact that you rarely get to max adrenaline in PVE now makes that trait virtually useless. Cleansing ire (removes a condition when adrenaline is spent, 1 condi per bar) in the Defense line, which unless you wanna run a Troopers shout build, is one of the only viable ways to remove conditions when you are a warrior. So lets say a condi burst enemy comes into contact with you. Nearly every class has high potential to be viable with condis when specced for it. All they do, is lay down their conditions, paired with cripple, immob or chill. And the warrior dies unless he invests 6 points into shout mastery and takes trooper runes. Its just downright stupid. Heightened focus in Discipline trait line (improves crit chance with higher levels of adrenaline) Utterly useless since you wont be getting 3 bars in pve and in 1v1 fights you lose your adrenaline so easily. Burst mastery in Discipline (burst skills restore adrenaline after use) Yeah nice one, if i could get my adrenaline up enough to use a burst skill, that would be pretty good. The MAIN issue is the instant decay of adrenaline, it just ruins so many options and potential of all these traits and tactics. They need to buff the time it takes for decay to start to 10 seconds in my opinion. The other nerfs wouldn’t be so bad if you could actually maintain adrenaline and use it.

Taking 3 nerfs. nerf 1: It used to be when if you used your burst skill and it missed, then you would not lose your adrenaline (this needed nerfing imo and i’m fine with this.) You should lose your adrenaline when you use the burst skill, whether it hits or not. Nerf 2: It seems to take FOREVER to build your adrenaline now, unless you dedicate a whole skill to build it faster(e.g. the precision signet, which fills your adrenaline on activate). In pve, i have made my second warrior who is level 29 atm. Even with a low leveled character, i have killed whatever it is i’m fighting before my adrenaline is even close to full unless i’m fighting a champ or something. Making the whole mechanic of what makes warriors different, completely useless in normal play. Nerf 3: Adrenaline depletes very quickly and instantly after you leave combat. So lets say i’m killing a mob in pve and by the time its dead i have managed to build 50% adrenaline (trust me, its usually less than that). I can’t even carry that over to the next mob as its gone in 2 seconds by the time i have engaged. Warriors adrenaline has been absolutely butchered with this update. Its like taking away a guardians virtues, or a rangers pet, or an engis tool kit. Adrenaline is no longer viable at all. They should either make it so you can fill it up a lot faster, or make it so it will deplete after 5 or 10 seconds after leaving combat, or even both.?

It is working as intended. Quit begging for a free world association change and work for it. You have 13 days left to go get it.
No one is begging for a free change. We just want specifics as to how it works and how us, as players, should spend our time in order to get something that we want. All we want is some specific communication from the devs and not ambiguous statements. I spent 2400 gems on a transfer, they at least owe me the information that should already be public.
Your world association is not determined based on the sheer amount of time you’ve spent fighting for a world, but rather the things you’ve achieved during your time fighting with that world.
This statement is rather ambiguous. Do you mean actual achievements under the wvw panel/tournament panel? Or do you mean tower, keep, camp caps, kills etc?
So i changed server about a week and a half ago, during the current wvw tournament. I am no longer locked out of normal wvw play, but every time i enter a wvw map, i get a message telling me that im “still associated with my old server” and to talk to a battle historian. Upon speaking to the historian he says that my association can be changed by playing enough wvw on my new server. My question: can anyone tell me roughly how many wvw hours/time it takes for this to change? There are 2 more weeks in the current tournament, is it likely to change before the end if i play regularly enough?
