Shalmdi-maybe I’m just misunderstanding you original post. It seems like you want to go through the main quest line for hot but are annoyed by the mastery prompt. Since the mission to start earning mastery points is tied to the main quest line why nor just go through until you unlock it anyway then spend the point on whatever then just forget about it? Seems like it’s going to be the only likely solution go the problem.

If I remember right you unlock masteries very early on when you enter Verdant Brink. Forgot the name of the quest. Torn from the sky i believe. Sounds like you filled up the xp bar from the core tyria masteries if you haven’t started hot yet. You will only earn xp from maguuma masteries when in hot zones. And likewise you will only ear xp for core tyria masteries while in core tyria (meaning non hot maps).
So if I were you I’d get going on the hot quest line. This way you can go to the mastery menu and use your mastery points for core tyria so you can start earning xp towards your next mastery skill.

Path of Fate is my serious guess.
Not so serious….
Peanut butter or Fluff

Picnics on Futons
Purple or Fuscia

Did a jumping puzzle for a daily last week. Forgot the name but I know it was the goonies inspired one. I checked the guide for it and in the tunnels you need to stay to the right. This is the line mama fratelli (if you know the movie) uses when the main character is looking for the bathroom. “Stay to the right!” Got a good laugh off that one and it’s a pretty subtle reference if you aren’t thinking about it as you go through the puzzle.
Can’t say weather or not it’s the best method but I know sometimes people run event zergs. I ran with one in Queensdale once and got quite a bit of xp. If you happen to try this method I’d recommend equipping weapons that have the most aoe abilities so you can tag as many mobs as possible to maximize xp gain.
I’m just coming back after a long break so I’m new to HoT so I’m missing a lot of the masteries I need to take advantage of the tubes. Not sure how to get the Kodan one.
Don’t have much time to play so I’m not far along in the quest line. I’m on the bitter cold quest. Looks like I need to kill some boss type creature but I can’t seem to find the place. Every time I go to the area that’s marked I get my butt handed to me by the veteran Kodan and their wolves. Should I be grouped or am I just in the wrong section. Any direction here would be awesome. Thanks.
Sounds like a plan. Thanks for the input. Looking forward to firing the game up later.
Currently at work so I can’t get the game right this second. Just wondering what my best plan of action should be when I get the game downloaded and log in. I’m excited to try the new content. Was debating getting it last time it was on sale but at the time I wasn’t actively playing. Of course I started playing again 2 days after the sale ended…Whoops. I’m really just into exploring and pve content. I don’t do fractals or have interest in raids if that helps with my options. Thanks.
